I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Housekeeping was consistent and efficient, and the in-room amenities were thoughtfully arranged. One of the standout features is the location—just a short walk from the metro station, which made getting around the city super convenient. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, the easy access to public transport is a major plus. However, it’s worth noting that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations in the entrance area and a few other sections. While the improvements will likely enhance the property in the long run, there was some daytime noise that could be a bit disruptive if you’re planning to rest or work in your room during those hours. Another area that could use some attention is the gym. It’s quite basic, with limited equipment and not much space. If you’re someone who relies on a full workout routine during your travels, you might find it underwhelming. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was positive. The combination of friendly service, clean rooms, and a prime location makes it a solid choice—especially once the renovations are complete.

I had the most wonderful experience staying at Oaks Ibn Battuta in the 2-Bedroom Royal Suite. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional – the warm hospitality, the spaciousness and elegance of the suite, and the attention to detail made our stay truly memorable. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and to our delight, the team surprised us with a beautiful cake. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our celebration even more special. The buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety to choose from, making mornings a real treat. My children especially loved the Kids Play Club, which was fantastic – safe, fun, and full of engaging activities. A special mention to Ms. Delia (I hope I got the name right!), who was wonderful with the kids and made sure they had the best time. At check-in, the receptionist was so kind and welcoming – my baby especially loved her, which speaks volumes about the warmth she showed. Not to mention, all the staff throughout our stay were incredibly helpful and nice, always ready with a smile and assistance whenever needed. The Royal Suite itself was stunning – luxurious, comfortable, and perfect for a family stay. Every corner reflected elegance, and it felt like a home away from home with an extra touch of grandeur. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making our milestone celebration unforgettable. We will always cherish this stay and look forward to returning again soon!

I first stayed at Oaks Ibn Battuta almost 3 years ago for my honeymoon and absolutely loved it — so much so that I decided to return last week. The hotel now has some works going on and is under new management, but it still holds a special place in my heart because of the wonderful memories I have here. This time, I booked the full board package because I remembered how amazing the breakfast buffet was last time, with so much variety. Thankfully, breakfast is still 10/10 — fresh, delicious, and with plenty of choice. However, the rest of the meals were disappointing. • Dinner buffet: This was the worst I’ve experienced in a hotel. There was very little variety and hardly any protein options. The meat and chicken dishes were mixed with peas, which I can’t eat, leaving me with very limited choices. It wasn’t the standard of food I’d expect from a hotel’s full board offering. • Lunch (à la carte): This was okay, but the mains were not as nice as I’d hoped. What left the most negative impression was during the dinner buffet when the chef made ribs specially for another table — a dish that wasn’t even part of the buffet — but when we asked for the same, we were told “they have no more.” We even offered to pay extra for any additional protein without peas, but they still refused. It felt disappointing and unfair, especially since we had paid for the same full board experience. On a positive note, the reception staff were absolutely amazing — friendly, professional, and always willing to help. They really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I still have a soft spot for this hotel and would return, but I’m not sure I’d book full board or even half board again unless the lunch and dinner options improve. If they could guarantee a better variety and quality of food for those meals, it would make the stay perfect — because breakfast alone is already outstanding.

Hotel was overall very good however I was not informed there was works going on. This was slightly annoying as I couldn’t explore the hotel fully. However the hotel still had and amazing experience especially the hospitality. The waiting staff is excellent and they really take care of you the best service I have ever experienced. Also Chef Arshad went out his way to make my family dinner which was very much appreciated and was tasty. Also there is a kids club in the hotel which is convenient for young kids to keep them busy enjoying themselves whilst being supervised by an adult. Breakfast was 10/10 however lunch and dinner buffet was dissatisfying. There is very limited options and some things are repetitive which gets boring to eat. Thank you to all the staff for accommodating us very well during our stay.

I have travelled to many countries and stayed in countless hotels, but this has, by far, been my worst hotel experience. The Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai is simply not a five-star property. Pros: Spacious room and bathroom Conveniently close to the mall, metro station, and bus station (though far from the city) Early and late check-in allowed Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Cons: From the outset, it was clear there are serious inconsistencies in service across all staff members. This appears to be an issue of poor leadership and unclear expectations rather than the fault of individual employees. I stayed here for 7 nights, and when I raised concerns in my initial review, I was approached by Mr Ahmed, the Manager for Kitchen and Dining Services. He was extremely kind and receptive to my feedback, and I did notice improvements in the dining service while he was present. Sadly, this was short-lived – as soon as management were off the floor, standards slipped straight back. One day staff would pull out chairs for guests and escort them to tables, the next day they could barely acknowledge you. I was offered a complimentary lunch as a goodwill gesture, which I appreciated, but overall the attitude from many staff suggested they simply didn’t want to be there. Additional issues included: Ongoing construction work during my stay, with drilling sounds throughout the day (though not audible in the room) Gym closed Pool constantly occupied by children and certain families all day, making it feel unwelcoming for other guests Water pooling in corridors near the lifts Dirty carpets and fingerprints on doors – poor attention to detail Apart from Su at reception, the front desk staff were cold and unwelcoming; one particular short woman during checkout was especially unfriendly Dark, dingy lobby with little seating and no inviting atmosphere Tasteless food with little menu variety; nut-containing foods were poorly labelled (dangerous for those with allergies – a banana cake was once labelled as chocolate cake) Stingy with water and soft drinks during lunch and dinner This hotel needs a serious overhaul in management, training, and guest care. Until that happens, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. It is simply not worth your money.
