A great location on the beach with a great Balinese welcome. Rooms are quite classic, marble tiles and lots of carved wood. Garden and pool view rooms on the ground floor are maybe a little less private if you want to get away from everyone. The resort itself is huge, the pool is enormous and there are bars and restaurants at intervals all the way round, food and drinks ranging from Mexican, Indian and classic Balinese dishes. Easy access to the beach walk from which there are another massive amount of drinking and eating options outside the hotel itself. The breakfast buffet is not to miss and has a much, much greater selection than the Palace Cloud, although the club is great for evening cocktails. A good mix of ages throughout and for its size the whole place remains quite quiet. Definitely worth a look.

Beautiful Balinese themed hotel, in a perfect location on the beach. Rooms were lovely, well equipped but a little dark. Service was generally OK, but waiter service in restaurants and bars was slow. Waited 25 mins for a drink in an empty bar, as the bar man just forgot our order! Restaurant staff were lovely and friendly but not enough of them for the size of the main buffet restaurant, so service was slow. Other restaurants were fine. Food is excellent and varied. Overall a lovely holiday and would recommend it.

Spent an amazing relaxing week here. Service was impeccable and amenities were plenty with several pools and restaurants onsite to choose from. There is a gymnasium and tennis court included also. Although I didn’t use the spa this time, I have used it during a previous stay and the staff were very accommodating and I was satisfied with my treatment. Love the option of room cleaning service (or not), and room cleaning was available for most of the day upon request. Breakfast buffet was very impressive with many international cuisine choices. The restaurants on site produced very tasty dishes (not cheap/resort prices). Although we didn’t choose the all inclusive option (with both breakfast and dinner included in the price), we paid for dinner at the all inclusive restaurant and I had the best pasta meal I’ve had in a long time! Included in the price is a buffet salad bar and dessert. Don’t overlook this dining option if you get a chance - totally worth it!

I am writing this at 4:00 a.m. New Zealand time. Recently, my family and I travelled to Bali for a short holiday, staying from 15 January for three nights. After arriving late in the evening and navigating the confusing arrival formalities, it was already past midnight when we booked accommodation online and selected Nusa Dua Beach & Spa Resort. Because the booking was made after midnight, the system would not allow us to book from the 15th for three nights. Booking from the 16th for three nights was not suitable either, as our return flight to Auckland was on the 18th. I therefore booked two nights from the 16th and planned to pay for the additional night (the 15th) directly at the hotel upon arrival. At check-in, we were initially assisted by a staff member named Surya, who then involved another staff member, Mr Suastika. Unfortunately, communication became difficult from that point. The two staff members spoke in Indonesian for an extended period, after which Mr Suastika informed me in a firm tone that my booking was for the 16th and that check-in was not available until 3:00 p.m. I advised him that I was fully aware of this and explained why I could not book the night of the 15th online due to the date change at midnight. Despite multiple explanations, Mr Suastika appeared not to understand the situation and repeatedly checked the system, occasionally asking me questions before continuing discussions in Indonesian with colleagues. During this process, we were asked to present our passports on three separate occasions. By this point it was well past 1:00 a.m. After a 10-hour flight, standing at the desk with two young children in the heat, the situation became increasingly exhausting. I began to feel less like a guest and more like someone being interrogated. I calmly reiterated that I intended to pay for all three nights at the hotel, but this did not seem to register. Another staff member, Fajar, joined and initially also struggled to understand the issue. Eventually, Surya clearly understood the situation and explained it to Mr Suastika. At that stage, I was told I would need to pay for the additional night — which was exactly what I had been explaining from the beginning. The matter was finally resolved, and we waited an additional 30 minutes for the room to be prepared, which was completely understandable given the circumstances. Regarding the room itself: we paid close to NZD 1,700 for three nights including breakfast. While the room was acceptable, the bathroom is in urgent need of an upgrade for a property charging close to $600 per night. The shower water pressure was very weak, the toilet flush button was unreliable and only worked using the half-flush option, and once the bathroom door was closed it was extremely difficult to open. Management may wish to experience this themselves — room 2209. At checkout, I mentioned to the front desk staff member that although breakfast was included, I had not been able to eat for two days due to illness. She was extremely polite and tried to assist, but later apologised that breakfast charges were non-refundable, which I understand. During the same trip, I stayed at multiple Accor properties in Doha and Mecca, all of which were excellent and met the brand’s usual standards. Unfortunately, this property did not meet the level of service or quality I have come to expect from Accor. This is not written as criticism for its own sake, but as honest feedback that I hope management will take seriously.

A perfect stay at Nusa Dua Beach Spa & Resort – breathtaking location, welcoming atmosphere, and truly wonderful staff. The resort sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Nusa Dua – crystal-clear, calm, inviting water with no boats to dodge, which made swimming an absolute dream. The property has that stunning, traditional Balinese style, beautifully maintained throughout the gardens, rooms and common spaces. A great choice of pools and beachfront restaurants created such a relaxing, warm and friendly atmosphere for the whole stay. A special mention to two exceptional staff members: Ratij, so kind and professional with outstanding guest-relations care, and the one and only Yulio – Mr Personality Plus! An exceptional concierge who added joy, warmth and plenty of belly laughs to each day. Bon voyage, my friend!
