We thoroughly enjoyed our time this past week at Dreams Sapphire. We were a little bit hesitant after reviews and recent photos right before our trip, but were very happy to see that the beach is lovely and that the food is very good. Andy at the beach made our entire trip, every morning welcoming us, remembering our names and even drink orders and preferences! He is outstanding and very hard working. Eduardo at the seaside grill was excellent every lunch we had, always providing best recommendations (the shrimp tacos!) and taking allergies very seriously (peanuts). We loved the Italian restaurant, all service was excellent there and the food is just as good as a nice restaurant back home in Canada where we are from. Overall, worth it for us and a well needed reset.

We had a lovely week at Dreams Sapphire! Staff were excellent to deal with, all very pleasant and happy. Pool area was great, although the music could at times be a little too loud. Beach was nice, but a lot of seaweed. They do clean it every morning but the water wasn’t as clear as I was expecting, though I know this is out of the control of the resort. Food was all good, nothing spectacular but certainly good. Restaurants are first come first serve which can sometimes lead to a 1-2 hr wait list time. A lot of children and families were there during our stay so definitely a family friendly place if that’s something you’re looking for. Only complaint is our room didn’t get cleaned until 4:30 pm or later daily which was generally the time we were coming back to the room to relax/shower for dinner Overall we had a great week and we miss Mexico so much!!

This was our eighth All Inclusive in the Mayan Riviera. We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. We have historically gone a tier up in star and price point. While the resort condition was understandably not as new or manicured, we enjoyed the experience just as much as our other hotels. The food was good, drinks tasty. With only one exception, staff were caring and considerate. The beach was large and nicely swimmable. They do experience the sargassum issues that all Mayan Riviera hotels unfortunately experience but I felt they kept on top of it well. If that will bother you, I suggest doing your research and picking a different destination entirely. Our teenagers were well entertained and we felt that they were safe roaming about together. I would say it is a mid-size resort. Enough to walk around to and see but not overly cramped. If you have mobility issues, preferred buildings 1 or 2 or regular buildings 12 or 13 would be best. One note: we came the first week of January after school was back in session. The resort seemed to have low occupancy but despite that, sun loungers were hard to come by later in the day. Families play the reservation game, putting towels out early and only occupying them for a portion of the day. One family were tying up loungers in two locations and going back and forth. We are early risers so it wasn't an issue for us once we realized what was tolerated but I would imagine this would be frustrating for late sleepers. We certainly didn't feel great about doing it either but it seemed to be the only option, sadly. I would strongly consider coming back to this resort for a longer stay over our usual 7 days at a premium resort for the same price. They do a wonderful job!

We had a great time here. We came here hoping for better ocean than the Dreams Natura we went to last year. The ocean here is much better than Dreams Natura. It isn't the crystal clear ocean as you see on some beaches but it was good. Occasionally the pool would feel quite cold but overall I didn't find it too bad. Service was amazing, this is a common theme I have found at all Dreams locations. Felix the server on the beach was excellent as well as Carlos in the Sports Bar. There were so many other fantastic servers as well and they were all so friendly.

Was super excited for this stay as I was gifted a hyatt guest of honor. Right away Check-in was frustrating . We were brought to a front desk station that looked like the “priority” spot (it even had a special mat), stood there for ~15 minutes, then the agent looked up and rudely told us we weren’t in line and needed to “get in line” after a huge line formed after. Later learned there was a separate area entirely for priority check in. From there it was constant confusion and upsells. Guest of Honor benefits were not linked to my reservation despite multiple emails and chats in advance to confirm. At the spa, they pitched a “free” hydrospa session like it was some special deal, only for us to learn we were already entitled to it because of our status. We were there during the week after Christmas so it was busy. They don’t take reservations for restaurants and most had a 1.5-2 hr wait each night. So you either had to be first in line at 6pm or not eat until 8:30/9. The most upsetting part: we witnessed a serious medical emergency in the main pool on day 1 where a man sadly passed away. We heard loud screams and My fiancé ran to help get the man out of the water. Staff seemed unprepared, there was zero crowd control or privacy, music kept blasting, and an acrobatic performance began during this at the same pool. It took quite a while for ambulance to arrive. Ive never experienced anything like it. My heart goes out to that family. I seriously can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve also been trying for 3+ weeks to resolve missing points from the spend we had there and address the stay issues, and the hotel simply won’t respond despite my attempts being escalated to executive leadership. That being said…there were several staff that went above and beyond. Especially Israel at the rooftop pool and Ivan at the buffet.
