Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach

More like a three star resort and we were disappointed. They are doing renovations to the building overlooking the pool so you are paying full price (and a higher average for the area) to be shunted to the other end of the hotel. We got 5 rooms for 7 nights and had some minor issues: fridge didn't work, LED strips on the bed head look like a high school project, TVs are poor quality and lost reception a few times, doors didn't close properly, and one of the rooms was not ready until 3pm (where check in is 2pm). The pool was almost always full of kids splashing each other and anything within 10ft including the drinks just ordered in the pool bar. That's not the kids' fault, as anyone entering the 5ft square pond they call a pool is going to create waves. What's worse is that it was clearly at one stage an infinity pool and someone must have injured themselves because these awful silver railings ruin any view of the beautiful beach and make me think how much better the pool would be without them. The photos are misleading so be warned. Some positives: Most of the staff are friendly. You can order a taxi from the hotel. The gym facility is okay. The beach access is fantastic. The kids club is good too (although few seemed to use it). The beach itself is devoid of hawkers so you can ponder your abandonment issues in peace, and you can rent a surf board to do your best Kelly Slater impression. The food pricing is good and happy hour is fair. The food itself if ordered from the pool bar or restaurant is nice and had good feedback from everyone. The location is ultimately what saves it, but had I known, I likely would have booked at a different hotel nearby and paid around the same price for what may have been a better end to a long holiday. I hate leaving bad reviews but I've stayed at a number of Novotel resorts around the world and this was by far the worst.

The facilities are good, the location is in the end of Kamala beach. You can walk along the beach in the morning it’s private. The swimming pool is fairly small but it’s not crowded. The pool bar has happy hour promotion at 4-6PM. The rooftop bar has happy hours too at 6-9PM but it’s free for the same drinks. Breakfast is varied and the taste is not bad. I love to stay here in May , the weather either rainy or cloudy but it didn’t all day. So I recommend to have a vacation here. And finally I think the cost of the room is reasonable.That’s sounds great right!!!😎

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in a one-bedroom pool villa. The value for money is excellent! The villa offers uninterrupted beach views and feels very private. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent, though the main meals were unremarkable. While the resort could benefit from a refresh, my husband and I agreed that, in terms of value for money, it is hard to beat this resort.

Has a wonderful week staying at the Kamala enjoying the stunning location of the hotel. Our room was overlooking the beach with stunning views across the bay. The room itself was well designed spotlessly clean with as generous amount of space and amenities. We loved the pool area and beach access if the pool area was full. The dining experience was faultless and a provided a wide variety of options. Most importantly of all it was the amazing staff who made the stay . They embody the true meaning of hospitality, always friendly, helpful and professional. In way of constructive criticism I would say the Resort deserves a simple makeover to freshen things up.

Had a great time staying at this hotel. Location was excellent, with almost private beach at the doorstep. The view from rooms, swimming pool and restaurant was awesome! The food was great. Very good and tasty buffet breakfast spread. Staff was very courteous. Spa service was also very good. They adjusted working time as per our request. Only one thing to improve - they need to work on maintenance of rooms, specifically bathrooms. The doors were not closing properly. It's an inconvenience with family.
