We had an enjoyable 14 day stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Aey for always checking in on us with a smile and a helping hand. As well as Lai for her amazing cocktails by the pool, always served with a smile. Pool was great, room was spacious and clean. I loved the location and being on the hill gave me an added sense of safety. The courtesy bus to the beach and return was a godsend.

The hotel was very clean and tidy. The neighbours either side of my room were very disruptive, the hotel tried to accommodate the best they could. A solution to this would be for the hotel to put felt squares on the bottom of the furniture in the rooms, in particular the chair, so when guests drag it along the floor it doesn't make a loud and awful noise. Buffet breakfast was great, however the cold meat and cheese section really needs to be kept colder. Its not appealing or food safe seeing the meat sweat or the cheese partially melted early in the morning. I would have like an iced coffee option with the Buffet breakfast as hot coffee in very hot and humid weather isn't the best. In saying that, the coffee was great. Two coffee machines, both very clean and easy to use. The curtsey bus is great! It may be more beneficial if they had it do a bigger circuit, around the block, along the beach front and main strip of shops, rather than up and down the hill. The bed was hard, but I actually found it quite comfortable. The room was very spacious and well accommodating, but could use some draws to put clothes away. The pool was the perfect temperature. It was quite deep for me (I'm short) but I managed. The swim up bar and the happy hour was fantastic. The restaurant menu, the food tasted good, but didn't have a good variety. The lift was under maintenance whilst I was saying, and being on the 3rd floor made it difficult some days, however reception gathered all my belongings for me on the last day. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. They did everything with a smile on their faces. This was a great hotel and if I'm ever back in Thailand, I would definitely stay here again.

The person who was there to check us in delegated it to a trainee and she did not explain all our entitlements clearly, especially the activities related to kids. And she wanted us to give rating about how she did, right after we entered the room before even we had time to freshen up, when she was there looking at what rating we were giving. We told her we will do it later. But she insisted and we also insisted that we will do it later. We specifically ordered a vegetarian panini sandwich mentioning clearly “no meat” “no fish” and they gave us a chicken panini. They later apologised. But in a branded hotel like Novotel, you cannot expect then to do such mistakes . Also their buffet breakfast menu is the same every day except for 2-3 items. So, if you are staying for a longer duration or didn’t quite enjoy the menu, you get bored or have to remain contended with it. The room cleaning staff left the room very untidy after they made up the room. The coffee cups weren’t replaced properly and the paper coaster which had drops of coffee over it wasn’t replaced and there were heaps of ants there by the time we went into the room in the evening after a long day at the island. There were lots of ants in the room on multiple days and we had to call and request for ant spray. The room had moisture and the clothes felt a bit moist even though they were in the suitcase as there wasn’t enough shelf space to off load the clothes in the suitcases there, even in family room. Also, they say that the family rooms come with some decor for the kids, it’s the same small tent and a few fur toys and a small kid chair every day. They don’t do different decors. There Is no surprise element either with the towel folding or changing the decor for the kids etc. Not sure if the staff were out numbered or something but everytime we needed water or fresh towels, we had to call them more than once. Most of the staff didn’t know decent English. The kids activities like VR and water scooter had timings and the water scooter was from 12 in the afternoon to 5 in the evening. And that’s the time we spend looking around the place and not staying at the hotel, obviously. So, the kids ended up not doing the water scooter.

We stayed in the family suite and enjoyed the room and the hotel facilities; we recommend it. Nice pool with a special zone for kids, plus a kids' club with activities, and an indoor kids' playground. Although located uphill, the hotel offers a shuttle service to the beach or downhill, which we used frequently and found very convenient. Breakfast had many options and styles. Hotel staff were very friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few things that can be improved in the hotel to make it great, such as the slow service in the hotel restaurant, the availability on the phone of room service and housekeeping that never answered when we called, and the fact that the kids' playground is limited to 1 hour only per day for hotel guests. In addition to that, we had specific issues in the suite, such as the fact that the partition in our room was broken, although I specifically mentioned it in an email before I made the reservation, and the hotel didn't compensate me well for the time until we switched rooms, in my opinion. Also, the "do not disturb" button was broken, so almost every day we had hotel staff knocking on our doors during nap time. Additionally, the hotel's elevators were partially out of order, and despite our six-night stay, the issue remained unresolved. Lastly, we made the reservation at the hotel directly through the hotel website to have a slightly better price and paid at the reception during check-in, but unfortunately, we discovered that the hotel charged an unproportional fee for BHT-USD conversion, and we were sorry that we didn't make the reservation through Booking or Hotels.

We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort in Phuket. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful scenery – the entrance with its koi fish pond at reception set such a welcoming and tranquil tone. The staff were warm, super friendly, and always ready to help, which really made our stay extra special. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were outstanding, offering a fantastic variety of both Thai and international cuisine to suit every taste. The cocktails were another highlight – hands down the best we’ve had in Thailand! We especially recommend enjoying them at the Canopy Bar, where the atmosphere makes them taste even better. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The only small downside was that the walls and doors were not very soundproof, so we occasionally heard noise from other guests. It’s also worth noting that the resort is set on a hill, which gives it a nice elevated feel, but it does mean you’ll need to be prepared for a steep walk or take a quick taxi ride if you’re heading out to explore. For families, the kids club is a real gem. It’s run by professional and friendly Thai ladies who made our daughter feel so welcome – she absolutely loved her time there. The pool was another big hit, with plenty of space to relax and a fantastic swim-up bar for adults to enjoy. Overall, this resort has so much to offer and gave us a truly memorable holiday experience. Highly recommended for couples and families alike!
