We had a wonderful stay here! The service was excellent, specifically the Restaurant Manager Kier who was so engaging and attentive that we decided to book the Christmas evening dinner buffet just because of him. The lady at reception Bow was also lovely and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Great setup for families-there are two kids' clubs (one offers 1 hour complimentary per day) and our kids were very happy there. The hotel is very clean and room service was impressively fast. Highly recommended! Aey was very helpful - thanks a lot!

I stayed 5 nights at the Novotel Phuket Kata hotel, and had a pleasant stay overall. The staff was always friendly, helpful and available. The location is good, just up the hill from Kata beach and walking distance from city center. Thanks to its location the hotel is fairly quiet and I had no issues sleeping at night. The food was quite disappointing, we only ate breakfast there and the quality was very poor. A lot of options to choose from but very processed and low quality ingredients. The rooms are large and offer a lot of living space. They include all the necessary amenities one might need, but the decoration is outdated in my opinion and it is very obvious that they haven't been renovated in a long time. Bathroom, furnitures, walls are all quite worn out and don't give a premium feeling, rather the opposite. I'm surprised that this hotel is rated 5 stars as to me it feels more like a 3 stars compared to other hotel I have visited. I would not recommend booking a room at full price, but if you can find a good discount online somewhere between 100-150 €/$ per night you might want to give it a shot.

What we liked: 1) Great smiles and service from front desk, housekeeping, engineering, bell, and spa staff. 2) Large rooms (Deluxe Sea View room + Family room) 3) Drying racks in the balcony 4) Great breakfast spread that wasn't the same everyday. 5) 30% off on-property dining + 20% off spa treatments What we would have liked: a) Better maintenance and checks before issuing the room. Aircon in 520 wasn't working when we checked in and filter hadn't been changed, but Engineering quickly resolved the issue. b) Better location - the uphill climb is a big minus. c) Will select a hotel with direct beach access in the future. d) Clean bathrobes. One of the bathrobes had brown stains on the belt, and another had brown stains on the main robe. We put the stained belt and robe together and left it in the bathtub. It was taken away, presumably to be washed, but no replacement was given. We didn't need it so, didn't ask for it, but this shows the lack of detail in the housekeeping team. e) Shorter walk to our rooms from the front-desk, without having to change lifts. f) Connecting rooms. There weren't any seaview family rooms to connect with our seaview room.

My family and I just spent four incredible nights at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort and Spa, and I cannot recommend it enough. We were traveling with our two children (ages 6 and 8), and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We stayed in Room 501 on the 5th floor, which had a beautiful view overlooking the beach. Our arrival was made special by May, who escorted us to our room and ensured we were completely comfortable from the moment we checked in. Since we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, the staff went above and beyond by decorating our room to mark the occasion—a thoughtful touch that made our stay so special. For families, this resort is a gem. We made great use of both kids' areas; they were fantastic for keeping our children entertained and gave us parents some much-needed relaxation time. The breakfast spread was excellent throughout our stay, and we also had the opportunity to book a private Thai cooking class, which was a really enjoyable experience for the whole family. The amenities made everything convenient. We loved the shuttle service to Kata Beach—they provided beach towels and flip-flops, so we didn't have to worry about packing extra gear. The outdoor showers by the pool were also a great feature for cleaning up after a beach day. What truly set this stay apart was the service. The team was amazing with our kids and took great care of us. A huge thank you to May, Tina, Luna, and Apple for making our stay super comfortable. I want to specifically mention Tina. When we encountered a noise issue with our room window, she handled it brilliantly. She quickly brought in a team to fix the problem and restored the room to exactly how we expected it. We felt truly heard and cared for, and her quick response actually enhanced our overall impression of the hotel. Thank you to the entire team for a memorable anniversary trip. We will definitely be back!

Had a fantastic stay at the Novotel hotel to celebrate me and my boyfriend's Anniversary during our stay in Phuket. The rooms were big and spacious, and conveniently located by the Kata Beach, food and Kata Night Market which we visited multiple times throughout our stay. We stayed here in early November, and unfortunately it was still raining season so we couldn't do much activities outside, but the hotel had quite a few activities in-house for you to sign up for like cooking classes, spa massage for couples or yourself, yoga, boxing class, or water sport activities. They also had a frequent shuttle bus that takes you to the beach and back. I would recommend taking the bus or take a cab through grab or bolt for easier commute as the hotel is on top of a hill, so it was quite a workout going up and down. Breakfast buffet had many options and they really gave us lots of coupons to use during our stay to utilize the amenities there. We decided to do the cooking class as it was pouring rain out, so it really helped pass the afternoon time and had the pleasure of doing the cooking class with Naveen Bhardwaj, who was super funny and helpful. Me and my boyfriend each got to choose 2 dishes each to make and Naveen had led us through the entire class and we got to enjoy the amazing food at the end. They really pay attention to detail and start you off with the decoration part of prepping food, which made our food look presentable after we plated the food. We chose to make Pad Thai Goong, Somtam - Papaya Salad, Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai - Green curry chicken which paired really well with the Khao Pad Gai (Fried Rice With Chicken). He mentioned that he would work on another menu for the cooking class since I mentioned my fav Thai dish wasn't on there which was Pad See Ew/Pad Kew Mao with a side of Thai Iced Tea! Don't miss your chance to book with him during your stay because he really put in the time and effort with us to make the thai culture food!
