Our experience at the resort was quite different from what we expected. We chose Niyama based on the high recommendations and praise from many friends and family members. However, upon arrival, we encountered several issues. The first problem was with our luggage. Due to the seaplane being overcrowded, the staff refused to load our bags on the same flight and insisted on sending them an hour later. Upon arrival, the welcome from our personal host was not as warm or professional as expected, although the rest of the resort team provided an excellent welcome. The villa had a significant insect problem, and the bathrooms were open-air. The outdoor temperatures were extremely hot, especially in the evenings, making the bathroom experience uncomfortable. The bathrooms and the villa entrance were also full of geckos. Most concerning was that the bed appeared to have bed bugs. We experienced skin irritation, redness, and bites during our stay. This issue was reported twice, but unfortunately no effective action was taken to resolve it. On the positive side, the resort offers a wide variety of activities, and the staff are truly outstanding. The food was excellent in almost all restaurants, with the exception of Nest Restaurant, where both the food quality and overall atmosphere were disappointing due to the large number of insects. I would especially like to thank Chef Saeed for his exceptional cooking and memorable dining experiences. Overall, the resort offers beautiful activities and has many excellent staff members. However, the level of cleanliness and pest control was far below what we expected from a luxury resort, especially considering the reputation that led us to choose it. Additionally, pesticides were sprayed during the afternoon and evening while guests were present around the resort, which caused breathing discomfort for us. I would still recommend this resort to travelers who do not mind insects and open-air facilities. However, we have stayed at several resorts across the Maldives, and this was the first time we encountered such a noticeable insect problem. This came as a genuine surprise and disappointment, especially given the resort’s reputation and pricing. While there were many positive aspects to our stay—including the activities, dining options, and exceptional service from many team members—we did not feel that the overall experience met the luxury standards we had anticipated. Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues, pest-related concerns, and the lack of effective resolution to reported problems prevented this from being the truly luxurious experience we had been promised and expected.

​We recently stayed at Niyama Private Islands as a family of 5 (with 3 kids), and it was truly a phenomenal experience from start to finish. ​The trip was incredibly peaceful, relaxing, and calm, even with 3 young kids. A huge reason for this was the Kids Club. It is absolutely world-class! The team there was attentive and looked after our children exceptionally well, which gave us peace of mind and time to relax. There were plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. ​The dining experience was equally impressive. The food was incredible, with a wide variety of restaurant options. We loved the amazing buffets and the themed nights that featured cuisines from all corners of the world—there was always something delicious for both adults and kids. ​Finally, the service was exceptional. The staff were super attentive, but a special mention must go to our butler, Shafeeg. He went above and beyond at every opportunity to ensure our stay was perfect. We cannot wait to return!

The Niyama resort is absolute paradise. The villas and the amenities combined with the friendliness and attention to detail from the staff are what make it truly 5 stars. We had an absolutely fabulous four nights here and enjoyed every moment. I especially loved the personalized bicycles that came with our villa, the private plunge pool, the tennis courts and of course, the amazing surf shack. We loved dining at Nest and sipping cocktails at the Dune bar on the beach. Salta (our thakuru) took good care of us and Sigi at the surf shack greeted us every day when we went to watch the sunset. I hope to go back again because this is one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in! ❤️

Niyama was absolutely magical. If you are able to visit, I definitely recommend. The water is the bluest blue I have ever seen, the sand is the softest white powder, everyday felt like a dream. It leaves you speechless, I never knew a place could be so beautiful. With that being said, the staff is what really makes this resort so magical. They are so kind, attentive, friendly, helpful. Everything is so well orchestrated and perfectly handled. The food, the drinks, everything is 15/10. Special shout out to Pasha, Imran (the best coconut man), Martin, and more. They made our trip so special.

Wow what a wonderful place! Niyama exceeded our expectations in so many ways. From the moment we arrived we relaxed and enjoyed being spoilt and pampered by all the team. Our beach villa was spacious and well designed and moved to a beach villa with pool when we decided to extend our stay for a few days. The facilities across the resort are all excellent. We enjoyed eating at all the restaurants. The whole holiday was fantastic and the highlight for us were the whole Niyama team, the service and attention to detail were outstanding. It was hard to pour your own drink on the beach or in the restaurants. The staff seem to always be one step ahead of you! Special thank you to Steven and his F&B team who created some very memorable evenings for us and for making us a wonderful Nasi Goreng, my late father’s favourite. Shanun our butler provided great service and was always there when we needed. Impressive was his quiet efficiency. The bar staff (Sigi and team) were fun and knowledgeable, the beach team were so attentive, the team at breakfast (Putu, Dewa and their friends) always got our day off to a good start. Imran the coconut man was funny and well worth meeting. I am sorry I can’t remember more names!!
