Tuck into mouth-wateringly fresh seafood in this laid-back, modern restaurant. With stunning views on either side of the river and the ocean, it’s a perfect setting for a romantic meal for two. Flavours are a zesty mix of Sri Lankan specialities, and the restaurant is open for dinner only.

Suan Bua

Featuring an irresistible menu of Thai home cooking with a Sri Lankan twist, Suan Bua offers dining in a wonderfully relaxing environment. Try a refreshing spicy green mango salad, or a warming rich smooth curry. There’s a tasty list of vegetarian options available. Suan Bua is open for dinner only.

We had a pleasant stay at NH Bentota Ceysands Resort! The location is absolutely stunning surrounded by the river on one side and the beach on the other, offering a truly peaceful and scenic atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food was delicious, especially the buffet meals with plenty of variety. A few areas could use some minor maintenance and better attention to detail, but overall it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend it for a calm beachside getaway!

Disappointing Buffet Experience – Poorly Managed Despite a Great Location The buffet was honestly the worst I’ve ever had in my life. The variety was very limited, and nothing tasted good. I even heard several other guests complaining about the same thing. For desserts at the dinner buffet, there were Sinhala Aluth Avurudu kevili and just 2-3 other dessert items, that’s all. At the lunch buffet, there was even a long queue just to get soup! The breakfast buffet was slightly better in comparison. It had an average variety and the food was at least tasty compared to lunch and dinner. It also seemed like they were short-staffed. I saw many food trays completely empty, and no one was around to refill them. I even had to ask one staff member to bring more cheddar cheese. The staff were polite and did their best, but the food itself was a big letdown. It’s not just me I could clearly see that many guests were unhappy with the buffet. The seating area was also disorganized. I think they should arrange tables according to room numbers so guests can be seated easily. Last night, the indoor area was packed, and one of the staff asked if I could sit outside. It was heavily raining, so I said no, and they eventually prepared a table for me inside. Again, this isn’t the staff’s fault it’s clearly a management issue. As for the room, it was decent definitely better than the food but still just average for a four-star hotel. There was no carpet in the washroom, so water got everywhere after a shower, and I heard animals running in the ceiling in the morning. I also tried calling the front desk several times, but they didn’t pick up. I could even hear them lift the receiver and then hang up. Only after half an hour did someone finally answer. On the positive side, the place itself is beautiful, the staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. Our room was ready early, and the hotel has some great photo spots. The best part of the hotel is the entrance the boat ride to reach the property is a really nice and unique experience. If the management improves and the food quality gets better, this hotel could easily deserve four stars. But for now, it’s just an average stay with very disappointing food.

This place is in a really great spot with an amazing view of the river. To get there, you park your car and take a short boat ride across—such a cool way to arrive! The staff are super friendly and always ready to help. The rooms are clean, comfy, and have everything you need. The whole area around the hotel is well taken care of and really peaceful. The food is great too, with a nice mix of Sri Lankan, Indian, and international dishes to choose from—there’s something for everyone. Definitely a place worth visiting at least once. You'll love the vibe!

We spent one night at this lovely hotel and had a truly memorable experience. What made the stay special right from the start was the entrance via a ferry, which added a unique and exciting touch to our arrival. The lunch buffet was the best part of the dining experience – with a good variety of options and every dish tasting delicious. While the overall food variety was moderate, the quality and flavour of the meals were consistently impressive. The staff service was excellent – warm, courteous, and very professional. We felt well taken care of throughout our stay. Traveling with our one-year-old baby, we were pleasantly surprised by the number of baby-friendly activities available. Our little one enjoyed every moment, which made the stay even more special for us as parents. The hotel truly caters to families. This hotel offers a perfect blend of comfort, service, and natural beauty. Ideal for families, especially those with young children. We had only one night, but it was enough to make us want to come back for a longer stay.
