Nexus Resort and Spa Karambunai

Had a lovely 3D2N stay at Nexus Resort & Spa — a perfect spot for a short vacation and a peaceful getaway from the city. The resort is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We booked 2 rooms, including a connecting room. One room was ready upon check-in, but we had to wait about an hour for the other, which was a bit of a delay. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, though we did face a few small issues — one TV remote wasn’t working properly, a water tap was leaking in the other room, and one of the beds was missing a stand, making it slightly unstable. We had our dinner at the Chinese restaurant in the resort — it was not bad, and the breakfast was okay as well. Nothing too fancy, but decent enough to start the day. Despite a few hiccups, we truly enjoyed our stay! My child especially loved the swimming pool, and we had fun feeding the monitor lizards (yes, they’re huge!). The staff was friendly and accommodating. We even got to know the lizards’ names — Brandon and Auther — which made it a memorable experience! Still a great place for a peaceful family retreat with plenty of nature and little surprises.

This was my first resort experience, and I was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were spacious and offered breathtaking ocean views. The resort amenities were exceptional, including a wonderful restaurant and a lively club. And the spa? It was truly outstanding and well worth the cost.

The resort is spacious and set in a beautiful environment, though there are limited restaurants and facilities open. I held the wedding ceremony here, and the experience was wonderful. The wedding venue was elegantly decorated, with floral arches in all the colors I had envisioned. The organizer, Van, also offers some wedding supplies for borrowing, which is incredibly convenient. Moreover, we encounter difficulty with food that is too spicy, the organizer promptly makes adjustments to accommodate our preferences. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness truly stand out.

I recently stayed at Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai with my family, and overall, it was a nice and peaceful getaway. The highlight of the resort is definitely the view—absolutely beautiful. The beach was lovely, especially in the morning; it was a great place for a walk and some quiet time. Our room was spacious and comfortable, though it was a bit too cold and the temperature couldn’t be adjusted. The TV and phone weren’t working either, but since I came to spend quality time with family, it didn’t really bother me. The food was generally okay. We received breakfast vouchers, but no one collected them and the area was very crowded. We ended up standing for a while until a staff member asked us to sit outside as there were no more seats inside. It was fine, but maybe a little more organisation could help during peak hours. Check-in was average—I had to wait quite a while since there were only two staff handling a long queue. However, one of the staff members, Lorraine, was especially kind and helpful. Despite being busy, she took the time to explain the hotel facilities like the spa and dining outlets, and she even apologised for the wait. Her warm attitude really made a difference. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The resort has great potential, and with a few improvements like better staffing during busy times, it could be even better. I’d still recommend it for those looking for a relaxing spot to bond with loved ones.

My parents used to take my siblings and me to Nexus Karambunai for staycations in the 2000s. Back then, we chose it over Shangri-La Rasa Ria due to budget constraints. After many years abroad, I returned to Karambunai last week, and the first thing that captivated me was the sky-blue sea and the private beach. They are absolutely breathtaking, like a postcard-perfect scene. The serenity of nature here brought me the peace I had longed for. The resort’s greatest strength is its location, boasting a beautiful sandy beach and a golf course. I noticed that renovations are underway, showing gradual improvements. I hope they continue to leverage these natural advantages and reposition themselves strongly in the market. A truly nostalgic and calming escape!
