My wife and I spent a couple of weeks AI here earlier this month. There was a mixture of good, not so good and awful! Overall the hotel was well maintained, the public areas were clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. There are a lot of steps in the hotel, which you cant avoid using which is not ideal if you have joint or mobility issues. The buffet style breakfast had plenty of choice, with eggs, bacon and omelettes cooked to order. There was also plenty of choice at the dinner buffet with different cooked meats every time. Our favourite meal was the a la carte lunch at the pool terrace bar, which had a varied menu as well as a salad bar. We had a pool view room, which was a good size, with a large comfortable bed, a decent balcony and good sized bathroom, with a walk in shower. The room was entered from the road side but there was an internal door in the corridor which eliminated road noise. Unfortunately the cleaning of the room was very hit and miss. It was impossible to regulate the shower temperature which went from luke warm to scalding hot and back to luke warm without touching the tap. We had to have our 'clean' towels changed on 3 occasions as they had brown stains and or holes in them - not what you expect from a 4 star hotel! If it were not for the fantastic staff this would be a 2 star review!

I've visited this Adult Only establishment since 2005 with several trips each year. The Courteous Customer Service is second to none and the Cleanliness throughout the hotel is Immaculate. Pool View Rooms benefit with All round sunshine on the Balcony. Conveniently located to all amenities. The Cuisine is Excellent with so much choice to suit everyone's tastes, with special themed events of Different Nationality Dishes. The Hotel Pool is cleaned daily and Sun loungers are always available with sunshine from 9am -6pm in the enclosed area and pool bar. Nightly Entertainment is provided, but with the Yumbo Centre so close by the choices are difficult to make sometimes. Neptuno is Highly Recommended for it's location, customer service and excellent cleanliness and Cuisine.

Upon arrival, the reception was very friendly and helpful. Special arrangements for early morning departures were handled effortlessly. I was very satisfied with the half-board option. The service in the restaurant was friendly and remarkably efficient, and the dinner selection was varied and of high quality. Housekeeping was also flawless. Unfortunately, the air conditioning and heating in the room did not work, which affected the comfort of the stay. However, my rating was lowered by the receptionist's negativity on the last night, which was completely out of line with the hotel's usual standards. When I fell ill and hoped to get just some soup to avoid going into the restaurant, I was met with inflexibility. This left a regrettable end to an otherwise successful visit

Everything very good apart from basic rooms but the balcony is a big plus and the staff are excellent! Continental breakfast is excellent but very poor undercooked scrambled egg which is normally a big fave for me being a vegetarian. Again the staff are excellent during breakfast. I don't roast myself in the sun as my pale skin burns too quick but if your skin is resistant to the sun then the pool area here is fantastic with plenty of space to catch the rays.

Where do I start? I have been a frequent guest at Hotel Neptuno for nearly 18years, staying regularly and consistently over the last five years, but sadly the hotel has gone downhill. Before arrival, email the 3 week before But no reply so I phoned to specifically request a room with a round balcony. On arrival, I was placed on a lower level in a room with a very strong smell of bleach, which irritated my throat and chest. I asked to move to another room with the same type of balcony but was told nothing was available. However, a friend who arrived the same day was given a room on the 5th floor with a large balcony, which was extremely disappointing. It feels like every time I visit, I’m given the same poor-quality room. The food has also declined badly. Lunch has not improved — if anything, it has gotten worse. Breakfast is acceptable, but dinner is terrible. This hotel was fantastic 18 years ago, and still very good five years ago, but that standard has clearly slipped. For the prices you are charging, the quality simply does not match. We stayed at another hotel three days prior — Gran Canaria Princess — and the food selection there was 100% better. The only positive thing I can say about Neptuno is the location. Unfortunately, I won’t be recommending this hotel — and we won’t be back.
