⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Family Getaway at Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin We recently stayed at Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin with our extended family, including kids and seniors, and had a truly memorable experience during long weekend. Although the resort is located about 15–20 minutes from downtown Hua Hin, the peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect place to recharge and escape from the stress of daily life. One of the highlights is that every accommodation is a villa, offering exceptional privacy and space. Our villa was incredibly spacious (starting from 120 sqm), allowing everyone to relax comfortably. We especially enjoyed having the option of an outdoor shower, indoor shower, and a large bathtub with spa salt for a soothing soak. Getting around the resort was effortless thanks to the buggy service, which can accommodate 5–6 guests per ride. This was particularly convenient for our senior family members and young children. The resort is also pet-friendly and features beautiful shaded gardens and a serene lake area, making it ideal for leisurely walks with family and furry friends. A must-do activity is the famous Chocolate Hour at Kam Pu Restaurant from 3:00–4:00 PM. My kids absolutely loved the unlimited chocolate treats and looked forward to it every day! For dinner, we highly recommend Baan Dum Thai Authentic Restaurant. The seaside setting in a charming traditional Thai house, combined with live music, created a wonderful dining atmosphere. The food was excellent, especially the Pad Thai with Shrimp and Fried Chicken Wings. We were also impressed by the chef’s kindness in preparing a special dish for our child that was not even on the menu. Overall, Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin is an excellent choice for families with children, seniors, and even pets. The spacious villas, attentive service, relaxing environment, and family-friendly facilities make it a destination we would happily return to again.

We spent a few days at the Asara resort eleven years ago and had a wonderful holiday then. It is even better today. it's a really beautiful setting with very well-designed pool villas and public buildings, boardwalks that wind their way between large pools stocked with fish and canopied by huge kampu trees. It's fascinating watching the varieties of birds and squirrels that live in them. The hotel is even better today than it was in the past in part because the two restaurants are first-rate. The buffet breakfasts are excellent, not only because of the wide range (most international hotels provide that) but because the quality of the individual preparation is so high. And beyond that, Baan Dum ("the black house'), the separate Thai restaurant, has the best Thai seafood in Hua Hin, with beautifully fresh ingredients prepared in unique ways. Try any of the crab dishes, or - another of my favourites - the prawns in tamarind sauce. I should mention what a complex operation all of this requires. After all, every pool villa is a separate building to maintain. But it's a very smooth operation with a very warm and friendly atmosphere, from the top all the way down to the individual cleaners and kitchen workers.

My stay at Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin was one of the best hotel experiences I had during my trip to Thailand. From the very first moment, the elegance and relaxing atmosphere stand out — tropical gardens, traditional Thai aesthetics, and direct access to a sandy beach create a true oasis of calm. The hotel is located right on the beachfront, away from the noise of the city, which provides a great sense of privacy and tranquility. At the same time, it is close enough to the center of Hua Hin to easily go for an evening walk or shopping. The rooms are spacious, tastefully designed, and very clean — perfect for relaxing after a sunny day. Comfortable beds, air conditioning, and tropical views from the windows made returning “home” each day a real pleasure. The resort features beautifully maintained swimming pools, including a large main pool with a sea view as well as quieter areas ideal for relaxation. The beach is accessible during low tide and calm sea conditions. The hotel restaurant serves delicious Thai and international cuisine. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options, and dinners with an ocean view were truly enjoyable. The staff are polite, attentive, and always willing to make guests feel comfortable and well cared for. The fitness center, spa, and lush tropical gardens add to the resort’s luxurious character. A big plus are the poolside activities and the friendly, relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. It is an ideal place both for a romantic getaway and for a family vacation — the hotel combines high-quality service, comfort, and a unique location. I highly recommend Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin to anyone looking for relaxation in a luxurious tropical setting.

We stayed 4 nights in room with private terrace. The resort was very big and had lots of good walking paths. Private beach with infinity pools. Breakfast restaurant was also next to the beach with sea view. It was very nice to just have breakfast with the sea view. I liked that the pools were very warm and that we could spend a lot of time there. We spent most 4 days at the resort because it was so relaxing and we did not really feel the need to go to other places. I advise to at least book min 3 nights to really get the resort feeling.

I personally really like this type of resort: tropical gardens, traditional Thai style, private pool villas, and a beachfront center with a pool, restaurant, and relaxing atmosphere. And that is exactly what you get at the Mövenpick Asara Resort Hua Hin. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and felt comfortable throughout my entire visit. The team is genuinely kind and welcoming. A special thank you goes to the wonderful staff at Kampu Restaurant by the beach — everyone there was incredibly warm and attentive. The reception team and the spa staff were also consistently friendly and helpful. That being said, it is impossible to ignore that the resort is showing its age in several areas. Some parts of the public infrastructure urgently need renovation. The wooden boardwalk across the lagoon, for example, really should be renewed. Also, the large floodlight that is switched on in the evening — probably for safety reasons — honestly does not improve the atmosphere, as you sometimes have to walk directly into an extremely bright glaring light. I know similar resorts very well, including the neighboring Anantara Hua Hin, and there is definitely a noticeable difference. Even though both properties are officially five-star resorts, the Anantara is simply on another level in terms of facilities, maintenance, and overall refinement. There are also some details inside the pool villas that could be improved. Housekeeping generally does a good job, but there were corners and areas that were genuinely dirty and could use more attention. Now comes the important “but”: Compared to resorts like the Anantara, you only pay a fraction of the price here. I paid roughly the same for four nights at the Asara as I would pay for one night at the neighboring Anantara. Food and drinks at the restaurant are also very reasonably priced, which makes the overall value for money genuinely good. Because of that, I can absolutely overlook many of the shortcomings. The resort still has charm, beautiful tropical surroundings, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you again to the truly lovely team. I enjoyed my stay. Still, I do believe some renovations — especially regarding the public infrastructure of the hotel — would be necessary to bring the property back to the level it deserves.
