Motswari Private Game Reserve

The last slide of this post sums up this week better than words ever could. I was shocked at just how abundant the wildlife was. How close you can get. How knowledgeable the guides are. How deeply passionate everyone who works on these reserves is about conservation. We saw the big five in two drives. Motswari was a unique experience. A family owned private reserve where you are guaranteed a crowd free personal experience. At no time did it feel commercialised. It was a rustic experience where it’s not uncommon to have a leopard walk right down the path past your room. Be sure to ask for Owen and George to be your guides. They made the week more magical than we could ever have imagined. If you’ve ever considered doing a safari before, my advice is to just do it if you can. The past few days have been something I’ll never forget. In this price bracket Motswari just can not be beaten.

MOTSWARI exceeded all our expectations! We loved absolutely everything about it. I would like to emphasize the beautiful location and facilities of the entire camp and our bungalow. All six trips out into the South African animal kingdom were also incredibly beautiful. We saw leopards every day. And we also saw all the other big five and many more. Our guides Lola and Lot were extremely experienced and friendly. Thank you so much for these unforgettable days! We will definitely be back!

Motswari was amazing! Our guide Josh, and tracker David, were so kind and helpful. We missed our connecting flight which caused us to miss 1 out of our 3 nights here but we still had 3 game drives and saw rhinos, leopard, and were feet away from hyenas with an impala kill. All of the food was delicious and the presentation of meals was beyond expectations. I celebrated my birthday here and the whole team sang and danced and made the evening a memory of a lifetime. We stayed at Geiger’s Camp which accommodates just 4 rooms so it was very personalized service where we got to know the whole team and felt so welcome.

Motswari was incredible! Our guide Owen, and tracker Elly, were the best. We were so bummed to have missed our connecting flight and therefore missed 1 out of our 3 nights here- however we were able to see the big 5 in just our first 2 game drives! On top of helping us see the best of the bush, they made us feel safe. The game drives were so amazing, as was our time back at the lodge. All of the food was delicious, and the presentation of meals was such a great experience. The accommodations were clean, spacious, and safe. Would recommend to couples and families alike!

This review is very late - stayed in August 2022. But words cannot describe the magic of Motswari. The nature and the animals are stunning, and our game rangers made sure that we saw the Big 5 within two drives. The rooms are spacious and the decorations are the perfect blend of authenticity and luxury. But most importantly, the staff were phenomenal. They made an active effort to learn all of our names, the chefs even remembered what food we had complimented and made it again for us. They also organised for all of our dinners to have different settings which really added to the magic of our 4 days here. Thank you Motswari!
