If you choose the Royal Mare Thalasso & Spa Resort Ultra All-Inclusive package, the programme consists of 24-hour service, with all meals served in a range of restaurants. We had a wonderful all inclusive stay at the Mitsis royal Mare. The staff are extremely hard working, friendly and attentive, they really go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time. The main restaurant has loads of options, all the food was delicious and fresh. We also really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants with our favourite being the Asian and the Italian. The cocktail menu is amazing , especially enjoyable in the rooftop bar. Two big pools to relax at during the day, with evening entertainment by the pool as well. The hotel has its own private beach, lovely clear water, be sure to pack aqua shoes as little rocky. There’s a beachside bar in too so you can enjoy refreshments at the beach. Overall we had a brilliant stay and we would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsis Royal Mare! Check-in was smooth and the staff made us feel truly welcome, even surprising us with a birthday cake and wine. The room was always clean and comfortable. Anna at Alegria was amazing always smiling and even teaching us a few Greek words. Costa at the beach was fantastic, always there to help with a big smile, and Maria at the Delfina pool bar made every visit a joy with her warmth and friendliness. Staff at the beach bar were equally welcoming. The main restaurant accommodated us perfectly, and while some dishes at Royal Palm were a bit hit or miss, overall the à la carte dining was very enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!

Good hotel, no issues at all. Great to relax. Beach is a little small. Food is good with lots of variety and restaurants to book. Staff are friendly, especially the women. Taxi to the hotel is relatively expensive (€40). Very clean and modern. Some difficulty in finding activities / new beach towels. Wine in the restaurants is very nice. Coffee is great. Cats are well looked after. Lots of kittens.

First time all inclusive. A lovely site and on arrival we were met by very friendly porters who helped with luggage. Reception staff greeted us with a welcome drink and again were very friendly and helpful. Then we were taken on a little buggy ride to our room with useful info given along the way. We were in a shared pool room which was immaculate with huge bed, stocked mini fridge, terrace with sunbeds and a/c (also remote controlled ceiling fan that was perfect for the time we were there in late September/early October). The mini fridge was regularly refreshed and the man refilling them was always happy to supply additional requests e.g. wine or an extra beer (I needed sugar free so was able to sort that). We pre booked meals via the Mitsis app and were not disappointed with any of our meals. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant (the fried ice cream was a lovely treat). The main buffet restaurant is well situated (you always want an outside seat with the view!) with a huge and changing offering. Between us we have vegetarian and diabetic diet requirements and there was never a shortage of choices for both of us. Brilliant staff again! The pool bars and cocktail lounge were very good. We preferred the cocktail lounge near reception because of the greater choice, views and at seat service. Was busy and seats mostly arranged as 4 around table but often only with 2 seated. Be brave and ask to share a table or offer to anyone looking to sit (good way to make friends!) Evening entertainment was very hit and miss, we noticed many people entertaining themselves with card games (available in the shop). We used the beach whilst room terrace was in shade and really enjoyed our time watching the daily change to it and walking along beach past the other Mitsis resorts. The sea was a bit too choppy most days for a swim but that didn't ruin the experience for us. Advise taking beach shoes to go in and out of the water because of all the rocks. Bar nearby was very handy (with hot dog, sandwich and melon snacks available) and gentlemen manning the towel station was always helpful to anyone seeking sunbeds. This hotel is nowhere near Hersonissos so if you want to go into town it's a taxi. There is a walk you can do to a headland with small chapel and views across the bay. We booked trips to Spinalonga and Knossos Palace (inc Heraklion) and really enjoyed those days out. Overall, we had a great stay. The staff really made it special and Mitsis should be very proud of them.

Exceptional hotel and staff in the main were excellent. Had a small issue with our room but was fixed quickly without asking. That’s a first! Well done to the team. Beds were very comfortable and we had a fan in the room as well as the air conditioning. Much better to have the fan on at night as it doesn’t create that dry humidity that an aircon does. Couple of improvements that could be made are, Toilets use an extremely large amount of water, not sure if that’s the design or not. A welcome drink explaining all the areas of the hotel would be a good touch, how to book restaurant etc. Have to say that the food was exceptional. Well done to the Mitsis team
