This is a 3 star hotel AT BEST, definitely not 4 stars. I would probably give it closer to 2.5.
I stayed here for work and the location is great, and the concierge is very nice. But that's about it in terms of the good stuff. My room was incredibly dated, I actually couldn't tell if everything was dirty or just old. The AC didn't work properly, my room was musty and had a strange smell, the bed was not comfortable. The toilet had issues flushing. Everything in the bathroom was tarnished. There is no fridge in your room, and the luggage rack was broken. The last night I stayed there, I was not given a full set of fresh towels (missing hand and face towel, so needed to use a body towel in place). The elevators are also incredibly slow, it doesn't feel secure (anyone can walk in and use the elevator, you don't have to tap with your room key). Basically, I spent the least amount of time possible in my room and I walked away feeling like I'd gotten a cold from the musty room. Will not stay here again.

Very disappointed from the start. For the price per night, one would expect the elevators to work. But to my surprise, only one was functional and everyone was checking in at the same time at 4pm. This created quite the line. The elevators felt unsafe and in need of repair. The camera in the elevator was missing as well. I noticed because they change the elevator the next day and that had a camera.
Room was 4502. Original booking said Brooklyn Bridge view but changed to World One view with no notice.
Immediately after entering it was evident that the room was outdated. It smelled of mold and the floor was stained. The bathroom was the source of the mold smell, most likely the shower curtain. The room was dirty and had garbage under the bed. The windows were dirty all over the building, not just the room.
For a downtown Manhattan hotel, there are certain expectations that are to be met and they were not. I would hate for this to be the first hotel experience that a foreigner gets. First impression of the United States, in one of the richest areas.....mold, small, dirty, and unsafe.

The prices don't match what you get. I had a terrible experience at this hotel. For four days, I had to go to the lobby to ask for water and a face towel because room service didn't provide them. The manager was unhelpful and rude when I complained. I'm very disappointed, especially since I've had better experiences at other hotels like Sheraton and Roxy. I'm checking out early to go to another hotel. Things got even worse when they gave my room key to another guest and tried to enter my room! I had to wait 30 minutes for help with security, so I got assistance from the NYPD instead. Thank goodness for them! You can find a better hotel for this price. This was the worst experience of my life.

I would agree with previous reviewer Heidi in that this hotel is nowhere near a 4 star, more like a 2.5 - 3. We are staying in town for a family wedding and the location is amazing, but that for us is as good as it gets. The room is very dated, and doesn't feel clean at all, there are grubby finger marks in the bathroom door, the ac doesn't work properly, the bedside lights don't work at all and one of the cables is damaged, which is a fire hazard.
Our daughter is staying with us and on the day of arrival we asked for the sofa bed to be made up. Whilst we were out, the bed was opened, but the sheets and pillows were left on the side for us to do ourselves, (we had to ask a second time for this to be done). A few days later the sheets were changed, but again the fresh sheets were left on the side. When we asked for this to be done, we were told that as it's a sofa bed, they will open it but we were expected to make the bed up ourselves!
The shower pressure is incredibly low, the mattresses and the sheets are stained, some of the bath towels are frayed, the wardrobe space is inadequate, some of the drawers were broken, the carpet is filthy and stained, and there's no fridge in the room.
We were expecting a swimming pool as there a pictures of one all over the internet, but upon arrival, we were told the pool has not reopened since Covid.
The breakfast options are poor and they do not serve hot drinks in the afternoon / evening.
There is no security outside the building, anybody can easily walk in and get into the elevators as you don't need to tap your room key, and unfortunately the benches on the outside of the front of the hotel seem to attract many homeless people.

I stayed a week at this hotel. The position and the view are wonderful. I was lucky to have such a view. I had an incident with the wife's pajamas that they disappeared with the bed linen when it was changed. We were compensated by the hotel manager with the non-payment of two days city tax in the amount of $80. Regarding the payment of this city tax which is done with the card at the beginning of the stay, as well as the guarantee, I learned from other tourists staying at other hotels that they benefited from using this money 40$/day to buy gastronomic products in the hotel. We had some totally useless facilities, external to the hotel. The warranty was returned relatively quickly. I had a very pleasant experience with this hotel. I recommend!
