This is a 3 star hotel AT BEST, definitely not 4 stars. I would probably give it closer to 2.5. I stayed here for work and the location is great, and the concierge is very nice. But that's about it in terms of the good stuff. My room was incredibly dated, I actually couldn't tell if everything was dirty or just old. The AC didn't work properly, my room was musty and had a strange smell, the bed was not comfortable. The toilet had issues flushing. Everything in the bathroom was tarnished. There is no fridge in your room, and the luggage rack was broken. The last night I stayed there, I was not given a full set of fresh towels (missing hand and face towel, so needed to use a body towel in place). The elevators are also incredibly slow, it doesn't feel secure (anyone can walk in and use the elevator, you don't have to tap with your room key). Basically, I spent the least amount of time possible in my room and I walked away feeling like I'd gotten a cold from the musty room. Will not stay here again.

I stayed at Millennium Downtown New York in 2021 for my partner's birthday, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The hotel offered breathtaking views that truly made our stay unforgettable. Waking up to the stunning New York City skyline was the perfect way to start each day. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, providing a comfortable and luxurious environment for our special celebration. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met with a smile. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with easy access to many iconic attractions. Our stay at Millennium Downtown New York made my partner's birthday celebration even more memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an exceptional stay in NYC. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I am writing to express my disappointment with Millenium Downtown NYC. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. First and foremost, the hotel unjustly charged me $300 from my deposit without any clear reason. Despite numerous attempts to contact them via email, I received no response. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. The condition of the hotel is far from satisfactory. The rooms are dirty, old, and dilapidated. The furniture looks like it has not been updated in decades. To make matters worse, I was bitten by bedbugs during my stay. Additionally, we were given only two towels for three people, which is simply inadequate. Furthermore, out of four elevators, only one was operational, and even that one barely worked. It’s frightening to use it as it is old and in disrepair. I am seriously concerned that a tragedy could occur in that elevator, and I believe an immediate safety inspection is necessary. Additionally, the hotel lobby is frequented by drug addicts and homeless people constantly asking for money, making guests feel unsafe and uncomfortable. On a positive note, the views from the higher floors are impressive, and the hotel's location is excellent. However, these few positives do not outweigh the numerous negatives. Millenium Downtown NYC is a hotel I would not recommend.

Great views, horrible otherwise This was probably a nice hotel in the 90s. No longer. Let's start with this: they can't even be bothered to spell their own name right on the wall behind reception. Their own name! When I mentioned it to the clerk, he shrugged. That attitude pervades every aspect of the hotel and staff. Have a look at a few photos that I took from my recent 2-night stay: bathroom door handle falling apart, a clock with a broken screen, covers missing on the elevator lights on my floor. Not pictured: the beaten-up, worn out, and stained furniture in the room, the air conditioner that rattled loudly, the TV that would spontaneously flip back to the welcome screen, the lack of room service, the lack of mini-bar. This was my fourth recent stay on business, and despite the convenient location, my last. This was not a cheap room, and it was worth not a penny of it. The manager I spoke to was both ineffective and uncommunicative, so it's not surprising her staff followed suit. The only trace of humanity I found in this place were the doormen, who have been consistently friendly on every visit. Millennium (see how it's spelled?), get your act together.

What used to be a great hotel has unfortunately declined in quality over the years. The hotel has a very dated feel, with little sign of upgrades since the refurbishment in 2002. Rooms are on the larger side and seem to function well. The location is great, with stunning views over the Occulus, 1 World Trade and the Hudson River. The biggest complaint, and a reason not to return, was the lack of functioning elevators. To only have 1 functioning elevator out of 3 servicing floors 31-55 was a low point, and looking at prior reviews it seems to be a perennial problem. Either the ownership cannot afford to fix this or chooses not to. Either way, expect 20+minute waits for elevators at peak times or walk the 30+ flights. Disappointing.
