First off that’s the only location in NYC that has a stellar view & hella gorgeous & spacious rooms. I have been to this hotel many times & it has become a favourite. They recently did renovations on the rooms & i did not think these rooms could have gotten any better! I was in total AWE! The bathroom is LARGE & spacious. The bed is very comfortable. Each room has a mini fridge which I appreciate so much. There’s also a coffee machine with a wide variety of coffees, creamers, sweeteners & tea selections. I love the fact that you can TEXT if you need room services or assistance & not having to call. Checking in is such a breeze & they’re so kind & warm. The only bad thing is that the last time I was there they ran out of ice. I made a quick text to the staff & they promised to refill ASAP. Overall if you’re looking for a comfortable hotel, one that showcases the best views of NYC that won’t hurt your pocket then that’s the hotel for you!

i was wary reading reviews, but had a surprisingly good stay. AC was working in our (renovated) room, but i did notice some cracked windows on another side of the building. absolutely no city noise on the higher floors as well. room was nice and had all the essentials, clean and modern. view was amazing facing the river and directly above the oculus, along with a ton of metro stops nearby. there is renovation but it didn't get in the way of our stay, they started at around 11am which is checkout time anyways. elevators were a bit rickety but otherwise everything was nice. make sure you get a renovated high floor room though, judging by reviews. service was good as well and no hassle. would recommend :)

I would prefer this to sleeping little spoon with Bigfoot in Central Park, but just barely. The hotel was the worst part of my stay in NYC with my family. Other than the hotel, we had a great time and the hotel has a fantastic location. When we booked the hotel over a month before our intended stay, the marketing messages and hotel guest services all proclaimed that the hotel was newly renovated and that the rooms were all quiet. The rooms we stayed in, all 3, were newly renovated. Other parts of the hotel were undergoing renovation when we were staying there for a week in late March to early April. We had booked a high floor double queen room, hoping to avoid the street noise of NYC. The first room they placed us in was on the 18th floor, 1806. It was nice and looked as advertised, but wasn't really on a high floor (there are 55 floors to the hotel). We could hear a lot of street noise. We complained and they offered to move us in a couple of nights to a higher room, and they didn't have anything else available at that moment. When I went looking for an ice machine, there wasn't one on my floor, or two above me, and then I went exploring downward and found that from floor 16 down they were still in various stages of renovation from carpeting or furnishings or tile and trim work. I ended up back on the 4th floor front desk to get ice. There is also no independent air conditioning and to get the room to stay below 75, we had to leave the window open the 2 inch crack that it would allow, which helped cool the room but let in more street noise. When they moved us on Sunday, we did get moved to the 52nd floor, 5206, but that only lasted one night as we were woken by more renovation work. This time it sounded like it was in a floor directly above us and was either a miter saw or a tile saw for flooring. The heat situation in this room was actually worse than the one on 18, 1805, and we still had to keep the window open. Monday they moved us to the 36th floor, where we just stopped complaining and dealt with any further issues for the last 4 nights of our stay. The room was at least quieter and didn't have us dealing with renovation sounds starting in the morning, but it did still have the heating issue. Again, we couldn't get the room to ever go below 73-75 without keeping the window open, which allowed more street noise. I know it sounds like petty complaints, but we did ask before we booked the rooms if they were climate controlled and quiet. We complained about the heat to the front desk and they sent up a maintenance person. That person explained that the building's boiler doesn't switch off really til late April so just keep everything turned off. Also, the fact that the folks we talked to before booking said that the hotel was fully renovated and not disclose that it was currently still undergoing renovations seem dodgy too. If we had known that, we likely would have sought other accommodations, because we do like to actually sleep when we're on vacation. One last note, when you try to ring the front desk from your room, you actually get a little AI agent to start with. This AI agent makes sounds that seem like she's typing something into a computer, but you can blatantly tell it's a computer and the novelty wears off after the first question. It does ok if you need to order towels, but is woefully unhelpful when you need something an actual person needs to answer like "why is my room so hot," or "who's running a table saw at 8 am?"

Don't be tricked by the location. The service was horrible, they made us wait for 2h past the check-in time for our rooms, just saying it would be ready in 15 min, and when we finally got them, they were missing some towels and bed linens. But this is not the worst, the financial team of the hotel is sneaky and tried to add extra charges and donations to charities that we do not ask for or accept at any time. We only realize of this because of the bad experience we had during our stay, so we requested an itemized list of charges at the end of the trip, and there it was all the extra unrequested charges added. Definitely somebody should review the 4-stars of the hotel, because it barely makes 2.

AC doesn't work so the room is too hot to sleep in. Had it set to 65 the whole time and it never got below 74. Fridge would not get cold. Shotty remodeling. Under construction general areas. No water pressure. Centrally located downtown. Paid for an extra 50 sq ft in room and it was needed. Edit: So apparently they have no air conditioning in the building and failed to disclose this at any time prior to confronting them about the hot room. It is due to their ongoing construction and has no planned date or time for being reimplemented. Their solution is to send someone up to open the window, which does nothing to change the ambient temperature in the room. DO NOT BOOK HERE. It's a 2 star hotel masked by a 4 star location.
