We have had a really lovely family vacation here at Pelangi. Rooms are nice and spacious, beautiful setting. Great location and very close to the airport (no disruption). Lots to do on the beach and adjacent strip day and night. Pools are nice and everything is clean and seemed well maintained. Staff are helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the food isn’t the best, lots of other guests have said the same. If this was improved from a 2.5 or 3 out of 5, which it currently is, then the Pelangi would be a true 5 star destination. Currently I think it’s closer to a 4.

I stayed for one week at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa in Langkawi, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The location is perfect: less than a 10-minute walk to many bars and restaurants around Pantai Cenang, with a lively atmosphere that’s great for younger travelers as well. Everything else is very easy to reach by Grab. The beach is beautiful and pleasant to walk along. One thing to keep in mind is the sea: there are high and low tides, so swimming is not equally enjoyable at all times of the day. That said, this is easily compensated by the pool area, which is very spacious, with plenty of sun loungers and large day beds available , never an issue finding a place to relax. The staff truly make this hotel special. From reception to the bars and throughout the resort, everyone is incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The baristas deserve a special mention. They are so sweet and make absolutely amazing iced coffees, genuinely among the best iced coffees I’ve had in my life. The bar staff are also very friendly and always smiling. The rooms were spotless at every housekeeping visit: always very clean, well maintained, and we never lacked anything. Getting around the resort is easy thanks to the golf carts, which are quick and efficient. Whenever we arrived by Grab/car/transfer at the reception, staff were always there to open and close the car doors for us. Overall, the hospitality throughout the resort is outstanding. The value for money is excellent for a 5-star hotel. It’s not all-inclusive, but prices are very reasonable. For example, an iced coffee costs around 18 MYR (about 4 USD). The only very minor point to improve would be the beach restaurant during peak hours. The staff can be quite stressed at busy times, and one staff member was occasionally a bit borderline unpleasant, clearly due to stress rather than bad intentions, and this was very occasional. Finally, I had an issue with a lost suitcase, and the hotel staff were extremely professional, helpful, and supportive, assisting me as much as possible. Overall, an amazing stay with exceptional service. You really get what you pay for, and more. I would definitely come back without hesitation.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and it was fantastic. One of the best and most beautiful resorts in Malaysia. Even though it was fully booked it didn't feel crowded because the room buildings are spread out on the terrain. The Pool is very large and there were enough sunbeds. The location is great, very close to Pantai Cenang. Only downside was the Pelangi Grill restaurant, which wasn't very high quality. The staff on the resort was very friendly, helpful and attentive. And above all very child friendly!

We desperately needed an escape this Christmas as our adult son died during the summer. How far away could we get from London - Langkawi? We chose a resort as this would take a lot of the stress out of traveling- we didn’t have the capacity for touring or deciding on meals etc. Boy did we make the right choice. The capacious rooms in small chalet clusters mean that you aren’t surrounded by others. The enormous land area means that there has always been a seat or lounger by the pools or by the beach. Two very spacious restaurants mean that even at its peak breakfast isn’t cramped or empty of food. The staff are so friendly. Marissa met us with a smile and showed us the amenities and the location of them with reference to our lake view room - we were a bit late in booking and all beach view rooms were booked - next time! We used the spa for an aromatherapy massage and were poured out of there after 60 minutes - Not sure how we’d have walked back if we’d chosen the 90 minute option - no fear a buggy could have dropped us to our door if necessary. In the area there are lots of super eating places for lunch or dinner if the restaurants don’t appeal for every night. We are half way through and I know we will be back; it really is a piece of paradise and a huge tonic for the most horrific six months that we have ever faced. A beautiful place; I cannot recommend it more highly - bliss!

The staff is absolutely pathetic and mechanical. Refused early check in even when we had a toddler and had a booked exp at 4pm to reach to, stating standard check jn time is 3pm. Guess what? We waited till 4pm and still did not get the room!! When we finally got the room at 8pm, it still lacked towels, amenity kits! The attitude of the staff to all of this was absolutely non apologising. This was when we had paid 1600RM+ per room for the best room category they had and were there to celebrate new year and my husband and sister’s birthdays. Every day of the 5 day stay we had the staff set new lows of service, too much to type it all out here. But I absolutely do not recommend this resort to anyone!!! Casa Del Mar is right next to this and offers far better service if you are keen on the location.
