We had the most amazing stay at Mercure Chaweng! The staff across all departments were friendly and helpful, including the restaurant staff helping out with my many dietary questions. The 3 happy hours across the various bars meant that we were always able to find a refreshment and even the mocktail menu was delicious. I often find resort pools very chlorinated, and I can't stay in them for very long, but this pool was very comfortable (I think it might have been an ozone system) had no smell and didn't make me feel sick at all. We had no issues with 'Thai belly' either, the resort provided daily bottled water in the room and there were also other self-serve water stations throughout the resort. The gym was well appointed with cardio machines, free weights and good air conditioning.

Beach bar at the hotel was a revelation! Sitting there, having a glass of beer and watching the sea was so much fun. You can just walk to the sea, have a nice dip and come back and enjoy the view sitting at the bar. Every staff at the hotel was so welcoming and nice. It is a nice small and cozy hotel but we liked it a lot. Couple of reasonable massage places were just next to the hotel.

The whole idea of having a separate hotel outside of the resort if someone books the base category is a terrible idea and literally screams that you don't care about your customer. I booked the Mercure after looking at the pictures, only to realise that I'm going to actually be staying OUTSIDE of the resort on a random building property on the road. Who comes to Koh Samui, books a resort property, to live with the view of the street??? Yes, I got an email after I booked showing the difference in the category that I've booked, but that's not enough, and is quite scammy because you send it to me AFTER I make a non refundable booking. Even the hotel lobby of the street hotel had a terrible smell of dirty shoes. I was forced to pay a lot more just to upgrade to come live in a smaller room but inside the hotel. My wife was upset, our anniversary was ruined, and the next day when I was eating a quick breakfast before our island tour, I asked for a take-away cup to take my coffee and your hotel doesn't even have takeaway cups for me to carry coffee??? Couldn't even get breakfast properly before my island tour day. Lastly, I requested for a late checkout, which very generously on the letter in my room mentioned that I could get a late checkout till 5PM (Subject to availability), sure I understand subject to availability, so maybe I wouldn't get 5pm, maybe 2,3, or 4. but the front desk "very generously" offered me a 30minute late checkout, and I had to change my whole day's plan because of this. Honestly I'm Marriott Titanium, was Accor Platinum last year, and I stay 100+ nights at hotels every year. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

My wife and I originally booked 4 nights at the Mercure Samui Chaweng but loved it so much that we ended up extending our stay for an additional 5 nights! The whole experience was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel is in a fantastic location — right on the beach and just a short walk to Chaweng’s restaurants, markets, and nightlife, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with a great mix of Thai character and contemporary style. The beachfront pool area is stunning, with plenty of loungers and a perfect spot to enjoy the ocean views. A special thank you to Nancy at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless. Even with our last-minute extension, she ensured we could stay in the same room for the entire trip — something we really appreciated. Her friendliness and professionalism truly stood out. All the staff were warm and welcoming, and the service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent. Breakfast had a wide variety of fresh options, and the restaurant and pool bar service were quick and attentive. Overall, Mercure Samui Chaweng is easily one of the best beachfront stays on the island. The location, service, and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable.

Staying at this hotel over Christmas so prices isn’t cheap 60,000 baht (5 nights) for a 4 star hotel. Have Accor membership etc. Do not expect any membership benefits here, book a deluxe room and came with 1 breakfast so you will have to pay 500bhat for the other breakfast. Ever stayed in a hotel that does that. Strongly discourage from staying here if you expect normal service from a half decent hotel. Location is okay, you can walk to than main busy area in around 25 mins, grab taxi is reasonable in Samui. Room is also okay, clean, basic amenities, no bath
