The Mercure Kooddoo We could not fault the care and kindness shown us by ALL the of the wonderful team at the Mercure. We absolutely loved our stay and were so disappointed for the beautiful staff who had to shut the resort and move all guests a Safely to other resorts in the surrounding atoll due to a break down in the power plant that generated electricity for the resort. We loved the two days we were able to enjoy all of the facilities at this excellent and intimate resort and would have loved to stay on. The professionalism of all the staff from management down was exceptional. They were able to move all guests in safety to surrounding resorts where room was made for us. They even managed to provide us with an exceptional meal using only bbq’s and battery powered table lamps to light the dining area by the pool. We would return to this wonderful resort in a heartbeat and send our love and best wishes to everyone who worked so hard to make our stay and our transfer so seamless when we had to evacuate late at night. Our beachside villa was beautifully appointed with just a short ten metre stroll onto the beach. The food in both Alita and Vista restaurants was of the very highest standard. Sadly we did not get to do some of the activities on offer but did love our reef snorkelling experience. Thank you to everyone at the Mercure and to thank you to Raushan who both met us and farewelled us at the airport. Thank you all!

We booked from the 6th-13 Jan at this resort and on the 7th we were told there was a power outage and we had to relocate to a different resort. All the power was still running and I was getting communication from people that some guests would be staying… We were advised we had to pack at 1:30 so we went to our rooms and waiting with our luggage packed. We missed lunch because of this. Then after hours of waiting they told us we need to be outside with our luggage at 3:30 which we did. They left us waiting for another hour when they finally told us we could just go and wait by the pool bar. They wouldn’t allow us to eat any food from there without paying even though they made us miss lunch. WE ARE ALSO ALL INCLUSIVE. We were reassured when we moved we would be put in the same or better kind of resort and that we wouldn’t get a resort that was not 18+ because that’s what we paid for. After hours of waiting we got told we were actually going to the Pullman which is a family resort and that there’s no guarantee that we will get the over water villa we paid for. At reception they tried to force us to sign a letter saying we wouldn’t ask for compensation and were very rude to us when we refused, saying they have to pay for our new hotel and that we should be grateful. We paid over $12000 for this holiday I deserve to get for I paid for. They were so so aweful to us and actually made me cry. Our stay at the Pullman how has been horrendous because Mercure sent them over a booking that makes us change rooms every few days so we have even be able to unpack and get comfortable So so unhappy with this experience

We were booked at Mercure Maldives Kooddoo (7–13 January) but never made it to the resort. After checking in at Malé Airport at 9am, we waited in the lounge for our domestic transfer. At around 11:10am, a resort representative informed us there had been a generator failure and the resort was closed. No prior notice was given. From 11am until around 6pm, we were left waiting with minimal information. We were repeatedly told options were being “worked on” but were not given any formal alternatives until late afternoon. Throughout the day, the only option consistently pushed was a hotel in Malé, despite us having specifically booked Kooddoo for its seclusion and natural reef. As a result, our entire first day was lost. We also paid for domestic flights that became unusable when we were ultimately moved to a Malé-based resort accessible by speedboat (which is typically complimentary). We repeatedly asked for written confirmation of the cancellation and the reason for it but were not provided with any documentation at the time. To date, we have still not received anything formal from the resort. The lack of communication, prolonged delays, and failure to honour the booking made this a very disappointing start to what was meant to be a special trip.

The resort is in a serene location away from crowds which makes it a good place for a quite relaxing vacation. Resort was very well maintained and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The staff ensured that our stay was as comfortable as possible, specially around catering to our dietary needs promptly. Kudos to the staff for making the stay pleasurable. Only suggestion is to share the activities schedule before hand with the guests so that they can plan accordingly as the slots tend to get full quickly or guests might miss out on some activites which happen only on specific days.

We stayed at the Mercure Koodoo for a second time recently. Once again, it was absolutely fantastic. They were so kind to ensure we got the room we asked for as it was both our 50th birthday trip. The resort is smaller than others so it makes it feel more private. In addition, being an adult only resort made it calm and relaxing. The staff are absolutely amazing!!! I can’t stress enough how wonderful, attentive, friendly and non-judgemental they are. A special shout out to Jo-Ann for going above and beyond each time we saw her !! Thank you also to Poppy, Ibrahim and Shifa for their amazing service - you all made our stay awesome! We will definitely be back for a 3rd stay sometime :)
