Meliá Koh Samui is a truly beautiful property with a unique Spanish-inspired architecture that gives it real character. The standout feature is the lazy river-style pool—relaxing, scenic, and perfect for a slow float under the sun. Beach access is easy and the beachfront is spacious with soft, walkable sand—ideal for morning strolls or just enjoying the view. The restaurants are decent—nothing too memorable, but the quality is solid and everything we had was satisfying. Pricing felt just a touch high for the overall experience, though not unreasonable. Where the hotel really shines is in the hospitality. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and professional, which elevated the entire stay. Highly recommended if you're visiting Koh Samui and looking for a serene, well-managed resort with charm.

If you're looking for peace and quiet, this hotel is NOT for you. There are kids everywhere. They're screaming and running around all day long. And since the rooms have very poor soundproofing, you will hear everything even if the noise is not anywhere near your room. The restaurant by the beach used to be one of the best in Samui. It was very popular with local expats but unfortunately it's no longer the case. The food was pretty bad. The service was excellent. The beach is beautiful. The pool is very nice. Overall it's a decent hotel for the price but not for couples or singles. We would not be coming back.

We had a great stay at Meliá Koh Samui. The hotel is clean, well-kept, and has a beautiful beach and large pool. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. A few notes: the rooms are quite far from the beach, breakfast could be more varied, and we wouldn’t recommend the hotel restaurant. Much better (and cheaper) food can be found at the beachfront restaurants nearby. Overall, highly enjoyable stay

Firstly, I would like to say the staff are so kind and absolutely faultless and none of the slight negativity in this review is directed at them. Maya in the Level deserves a special mention for always going above and beyond. While our stay was comfortable, I feel the need to write this review as influencers, who clearly receive free or heavily discounted stays in exchange for good PR, tout this as the most childfriendly, amazing hotel on Koh Samui. It is most definitely not and we felt hoodwinked. I think it’s probably better suited to the 50+. The beach positioning is good and gardens are beautifully maintained but the resort is a bit dated overall and doesn’t look remotely Thai- you could be anywhere. It is not 5*. The swimming pool needs a refurb, the edges are really rough to stand or sit on and has an unappealing concrete jacuzzi within it that rarely comes on. The kids “mini water park” is a gross overstatement- it consists of one slide and a fierce tipping fountain that would knock out any small infant. There is one other slide. Some online sources mention a pirate ship that didn’t exist! The lazy river doesn’t lead into the main pool and looks a bit swampy and is quite unscenic in parts. We got day passes to other hotels to use their nicer facilities instead. While they offer some good craft activities, the kids club is in a tiny cramped room and and the outdoor seats and trampoline have little shade. We also stayed at the Anantara Bophut and visited the Kimpton Kitalay and Holiday Inn and their offerings are superior- much more airy and modern. Melia also said on the room tv welcome screen that Koko the elephant comes round in the afternoon handing out candy floss, which my son was really excited about but he doesn’t and the staff had no knowledge of this so this should be removed. They did however arrange a one off visit though which was very kind. We had a pool access room- decent enough but far too dark and the AC emitted a musty smell from time to time. Some are better positioned than others. We looked at changing to a boat suite and they also need a refurb and are not suitable for kids. Another annoying point, they set up our son’s bed and originally didn’t give him a duvet- just an EVA Air plane blanket- not ok!! Breakfast is very good and the beach restaurant served delicious food. Choeng Mon beach area is pleasant, we enjoyed some of the beach restaurants and fire shows but we preferred staying by the fisherman’s village as there is more going on. I don’t know how people can spend all their time in the Level, while the service is good, we found the room and ambiance a bit depressing playing old fashioned lift music, showing sport on the tv and cold - again, nothing Thai about it. If your priority is great facilities for kids and a more modern, fun aesthetic I would recommend the Holiday Inn (quite noisy at the pool but kids will love it and the amazing splash pad). The kids club even has a soft play enclosure. The Anantara Bophut is stunning and more luxurious, has a lovely kids club and the overall pool is nicer with islands in the middle that kids can jump in from. Our 4 year old loved it there. Overall I think Melia needs to invest in this place (particularly the pool) to bring it up to 5* standard again, it’s looking dated.

‏e have been several times, the last time was a little disappointing because they put us in a very small room Even though I tried to upgrade with extra money, they always made it difficult for me with the extra bed that we need . and the generator of the neighboring hotel Made a noise that woke me and my daughter up several times. We felt like we were sleeping inside a factory. . I didn't sleep for two consecutive nights. There was no response from the hotel until I wrote my opinion and gave a low star rating. After that, they changed us to a comfortable room and brought a bottle of wine. The manager who handled the exceptional case was nice and tried to help. The heartache had already been done. Two nights of my vacation were ruined and a bottle of wine couldn't improve my feelings. At this point, I i was happier If they had addressed my problem and distress before I rated the hotel with a low number of stars. Sometimes humanity is more important than reputation. I recommend that you take the rooms with access to the pool, they are quiet and pleasant. Regarding the food in room service, the food has dropped this year, it is also important for me to note that the pools are at a perfect water temperature and really feel like a blanket. I feel that the level of service and consideration for customers should be better, generous and rewarding for the large amount of money that the guests pay.
