Wow! This was the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in! Beautiful garden and hotel complex, a picture-perfect beach, and the service is truly outstanding. Everyone is incredibly nice and friendly. This is exactly how you want to travel. Plus, excellent food and delicious drinks. It couldn't have been better. The shuttle service brings you everywhere in no time, therefore the distances are no problem at all. What an experience - We'll be back for sure!

We had a fantastic stay at the Melia, primarily due to all the wonderful staff, we have never felt so welcome in a hotel! The resort is stunning, the beach is fantastic and so are the rooms. We truly had a special time and a big thank you to Paul, Abdul, Sebastian, Witness, Andrea, Farhad in particular who were lovely throughout. A small minor point, but we thought the cocktails weren't too great and could be refined a bit!

Just got back from Melia Zanzibar and it was an incredible experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the food was consistently excellent. What really made the stay special, though, was the service — the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Management clearly runs a tight ship, everything felt smooth and well taken care of. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and feel looked after. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined yet laid-back escape.

Meliá Zanzibar is a beautiful resort in a stunning location, with expansive grounds and genuinely warm, always-smiling staff. There’s plenty to enjoy — from exploring the gardens to relaxing by the pool or beach. We also attended a wedding here, which was flawlessly executed and set against a picture-perfect backdrop. But despite the lovely setting, our stay had its disappointments. The rooms are tired and in need of serious refurbishment — paint marks, lingering odours, broken switches, and recurring issues with water pressure and hot water. An iron even stained my shirt before an event. Some staff ignored basic housekeeping etiquette. To be fair, the manager was attentive, acknowledged some challenges (like infrastructure issues), and made amends — which we appreciated. But it’s hard to accept that while new villas are being built in the premium area (The Level), the rest of the hotel is left behind. There’s a clear divide in service and standards — and it shows. Food was generally excellent, though breakfast became repetitive after a few days. Ultimately, unless you’re staying in The Level, the resort doesn’t offer great value for money. And while it’s marketed as all-inclusive, be aware — many items incur extra charges, from certain dishes and premium drinks to, surprisingly, coconuts. A truly vast, expansive and beautiful hotel, but one that needs to invest more in uplifting the entire experience — not just the VIP section.
