We stayed at the Level for our Honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We initially booked at the regular part but were looking for a more quiet place for our honeymoon, and the Level was just it! We stayed in a beautiful bungalow, the food was absolutely amazing but most importantly the service was truly on point and exceptional! Every single person of the team did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to Lilian and the reception team for offering us a great solution for our late departure. A stay we’ll never forget! Asante Sana!!!

We stayed for 6 nights in Meliá Zanzibar with all-inclusive (our first time experience of resort holiday). And could not be happier about the wonderful week we spent there. The resort is employing wonderful people who not only take care of guests 24/7 but also offer environmental and sustainable contribution to the communities, talent groups, and caregivers for animals of the Zanzibar. They grow their own vegetables, take care of abandoned animals, and have their own bee farm (!) all in perfect shape and free for visit. The food every night was incredible delicious and versatile. Full board and lots of various drinks offered in all restaurants. Activities are plenty: tennis courts, swimming pool and great gym facilities. The rooms are getting a bit dated, unfortunately. But the staff is trying to take care of it and renovate frequently. Also, cleaning services are quite good Thank you to the staff for making our stay so memorable!

We loved the Level premium service, the staff were friendly, we had a Romance beach bungalow facing the sea, it was beautiful, the pick-up service was efficient, the food was good quality, we didn't get to enjoy the beach much, but we had a great pool. I send hugs especially to two employees of the restaurant and pool, Lilian and Paul I hope the Melia chain is good and generous to their employees, as they are caring and kind people.

We had a 5 night stay at Melia Zanzibar. We stayed at a beach villa, at the Level. After a long tiring flight, it was a warm and refreshing welcome with cold towels and drinks. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and immediately put us at ease. My first time staying at a Melia hotel and I was blown away by the stunning resort and incredible service! Room: Our bungalow was stunning, but overlooking the ocean yet secluded and private. Highly recommend this room choice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we loved the pillow menu with so many options! It was wonderful to have a turndown service every night while you were at dinner, the staff were discreet and out of your way. The Level experience was fantastic, and every staff member made you feel special and welcome. The only complaint I had was on arrival, the basin in our room was blocked up every time we turned on the tap. Once we requested it to be checked the next day, it was fine thereafter. I feel that little attention to detail should have been addressed before guest arrives in the room. Staff: While there one or two staff at breakfast and dinner who weren’t particularly overfriendly, overall the staff and service was outstanding, from the management, to the waiters, reception staff, shuttle drivers and ground staff. It was refreshing to see the managers very present at the resort overlooking everything. On our last night our waiter (who was also training at reception) was so incredibly professional and so helpful, he knew I loved mangoes, he went out of his way to send some mangoes to our room and sliced up some for us after dinner! Such a lovely little touch! Food: The food experience was outstanding, I generally do not enjoy resort style food, however this was different than your usual resort experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and superbly prepared. We couldn’t wait for the next meal to try something new. Gabi beach restaurant was a favorite for lunch, and our experience at the jetty restaurant and at the spice market were outstanding. The ambience at dinner at the spice market was enchanting under the trees and lamps, and we enjoyed the musical entertainment. Our waiter was amazing, friendly and energetic and went out of his way for us. I was so impressed with the service. We also loved having dinner at the level restaurant when we needed a quieter more intimate dining experience. My reason for rating 4 is that on booking, we had requested halal and no alcohol, however on arrival the alcohol hadn’t been removed from our minibar. Also there needs to be more attention paid to religious dietary restrictions, more especially since 95% of the island are Muslims! There was no separation of pork items at breakfast and when asked if the meat and chicken was halal, some of the staff weren’t very confident about that! Also I feel the breakfast experience could be improved, with more variety. Spa: honestly one of the best spa experiences I have had, we did massages almost everyday, my therapist was outstanding , one of the best massages I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the gym pool daily in the mornings as it was quiet, and private, whereas the level pool was not as private. Beach: did not live up to my expectations, however the water temperature was pleasant. Very tidal waters meant that you could only swim at high tides, but I found the currents to be quite rough, and water not as clear and calm as expected. I’m sure there are better beaches in Zanzibar, but this isn’t the best, but it was ok. Lots of locals on the beach, but they were very friendly and very polite, in general our experience with the locals as very welcoming people. Overall Melia Zanzibar was an excellent experience for both my husband and I, we got the rest and relaxation we were looking for, and it made our trip extra special to be served by such wonderful people who genuinely want to make your experience unique. I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for an outstanding yet unique resort experience!

We stayed here for a week and it was perfect. The staff were super attentive, especially after a little hiccup at the beginning. We were looked after by Ali who is incredibly professional and an expert in customer service. In general we were impressed with the staff throughout the resort. Everyone was friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay super special. We immediately felt at home and enjoyed the many dining options. A special shout out to the Tamu Restaurant - the friendly waitress who looked after us that night was an absolute star. She even did a little photo shoot with us in the restaurant. The food at Tamu was outstanding, my favourite of all the restaurants. Well done to the chef! Most of the live music entertainment was great, we enjoyed the fact that there was no "forced" animation, it was super relaxing. Probably due to the time of year, we particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet - not sure what it's like in high season. The gym is perfect and has everything you need. The SPA treatments are divine. We loved the service we received - facial, couple's massage & salt bath. It was just perfect. Gabi beach is an absolute delight, especially at high tide. We appreciated the fact that there are security guards, which means no one comes up to you trying to sell you anything. We went into the village and loved seeing the locals and their shops. It is great to see a hotel like the Melia working with the locals and helping the community in this and many other ways. The sea view bungalows are an absolute delight and were the best part of our stay. We loved the sunrise views and the fact that we had more privacy. One more thing about the staff: we salute you and your professionalism, even with sometimes rude and insensitive tourists. We can only imagine how difficult it must be and we won't forget your kindness. Asante Sana!
