Ronny Mercado is an amazing entertainer! He’s funny, full of energy, and always knows how to get everyone laughing and having a great time. We had so much fun with him during our stay, and his positive vibe made every moment even better. Highly recommended! Ru Yohana Joseph made our visit to Riviera even better. The restaurant is very clean, the service is excellent, and the buffet is genuinely good. What we appreciated most was the warm, friendly welcome we received—Yohana’s smile and upbeat energy added a lovely touch to the experience.

Overall, a wonderful choice. The rooms are pleasant and the location and atmosphere are fun but tranquil. We did have a poor experience with our first night; we required a third bed which was not in our room when we arrived, and had not yet been set up when we returned from dinner. We needed to ask several times and wait until after we were ready to call it a night before we got our extra bed, and didn’t get any kind of apology. However, the beach is gorgeous, the food delicious, and the rooms comfortable. The spa is wonderful and the gym is good, though some equipment needs to be updated. Finally, the biggest highlight is definitely the staff. They are friendly and thoughtful. The activities are very fun, too, without being too loud or disruptive to the experience. We enjoyed a rum tasting that was generous and informative, and they also offer dance lessons, yoga, etc. I would stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel with high expectations, but unfortunately our experience was very mixed. Positive points: • The hotel is very beautiful and well maintained. • The rooms are always very clean; the housekeeping staff does an excellent job. • The buffet is quite good and offers a nice variety. • A special thank you to Mackendy at the spa, who was very friendly and accommodating. Negative points: Unfortunately, several aspects were absolutely not up to the standard of a 5-star hotel. • The table service was really poor: we had to ask up to three times just to get cutlery or even water. • We felt like you had to be a regular family guest or give tips in order to receive proper service. • In our room, the air conditioning was leaking and the door was squeaking loudly. We reported these issues, but nothing was done. • At the pool and on the beach, you have to arrive at 7 a.m. to get a sunbed, as guests leave their towels all day to reserve them. On top of that, we were approached on the beach and asked to pay for a bed that is supposed to be included in the hotel amenities. • Staff constantly ask guests to leave reviews, which probably explains why the hotel has such a high rating on Google. Conclusion: The hotel is objectively very expensive for the level of service and amenities provided. Despite the beautiful setting, the service quality and overall organization are clearly not worthy of a 5-star hotel. We will not return and would not recommend it.

The level rooms were so outdated and old, however the private areas did make up for the extra money you do pay. There is a horrific poo smelling lake outside the 52 building which is disgusting. If you stay here and pay the difference to upgrade, ensure you don't stay in the building from 50-52. The grounds of the hotel were stunning and the pool was lovely. Fantastic upkeep and the exercise classes in the pool were a great way to get the community going. The gym is horrific, broken equipment and dumbbells that have been torn and ripped apart and even missing. Significant investment is required here. The massages are the worst I've ever had. The forms you have the guests fill out are pointless because the massage people don't read or listen nor do they communicate in English even when repeatly asked to go harder and more importantly don't touch injury areas. The prices are woaful, however signed up for a timeshare presentation and got a credit. That's a good tip if you want to save some money. Being harrased for tips and google review for this venue is pathetic. Most of these reviews have been when the concierge pressure the guests to leave a review and when you say you don't want to, they bring our a manager to beg you to do it. Don't be influenced. The food in the buffets trump that of places you have to book for, very very disappointing. Entertainment was good and the nightlife was great to see. Overall it's a 2 star because they constantly harrass you to upgrade and pay more for a better "experience" even when you just want to do absolutely nothing by the pool. Would I come back? probably not. Edit: Your generic response literally does nothing but confirm what I said. You talk about highlights, yet you don't mention the low lights. My review is accurate and valid.

We stayed at Meliá Caribe Beach in February as a family of four, along with two other adult couples (8 guests total). Overall, we had a good trip because we were with friends, but the resort experience itself was mixed. The property is large and beautiful, with nice pool areas and well-maintained grounds. We stayed in The Level section, and the Level bar team — especially Antonio and the staff there — were excellent and genuinely stood out for their friendliness and attentiveness. That said, the overall service culture throughout much of the resort felt inconsistent and often indifferent. In several restaurants and bars, interactions felt more transactional than welcoming. We experienced a few concerning issues during our stay. A showerhead fell on a member of our group while she was showering. She was able to screw it back in herself, but it’s not something you’d expect — especially in a Level room. At the steakhouse, one guest in our party never received his meal, and there was no meaningful service recovery. Drink service that evening was very slow, and we eventually had to leave the table to get beverages ourselves. We also witnessed inappropriate behavior at the pool that was not promptly addressed by staff, which was disappointing given that young children were present. As a larger group, securing restaurant reservations was more difficult than expected, even with assistance from The Level concierge. Food overall was fine but not memorable. Housekeeping serviced the room daily and restocked the minibar, though small details like towel quantities were inconsistent. The beach was clean and well maintained, and the water was warm. Pool chair availability at The Level pool was manageable, even for our group of eight, though we did choose our spot earlier in the morning to ensure we could all sit together. Our room location was across from The Level pool but far enough from the lobby that nighttime music was not disruptive. We primarily used The Level pool and Riviera restaurant, and in that sense, the upgrade felt worthwhile. However, the overall Level lounge service — including check-in — felt slower and less polished than expected, even with online check-in completed in advance. For the price we paid, we don’t feel misled, but we were hoping for a more polished and attentive experience. We personally would not return, though this resort may work for travelers who prioritize a large property and pool space over consistent service.
