It’s our first and last holiday in this hotel. When we arrived here we were very happy, but when we saw the rooms, our smile quickly disappeared. We asked for a family room with view of the garden, but we did not get that. Only one room of the 2 has air conditioning and a socket/power point where you can charge your phone. We paid extra for the wifi, but it barely works in the room and it doesn’t work at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is not good. Some things are okay, but most of them are just not yummy or don’t have a lot of taste. The staff is not very friendly, especially at the bar. And you would think all inclusive, but you have to pay extra for almost every cocktail. The pool is saltwater. You have to pay a lot extra for things that you expect not to. It’s a hotel you stay at if you are going to a lot of things and not stay in the hotel all the time The location is good though, i recommend to hire a scooter so that it’s easier to get to the small city. The city is very nice.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week long all inclusive vacation and I can t express how disappointed I am with this experience. Right from the start, things went downhill. When we arrived, we were parched from our journey, but the staff refused to give us water. In our group was a pregnant woman who really needed it, but their indifference was shocking. To make matters worse, the cleaning staff entered our room without knocking while we were just in our underwear. This is unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful. The food was decent, I ll give them that, but my experience in the restaurant was marred by an uncalled for comment. I brought some fruit from the dining area to the bar and one staff member said : you are blonde, but not stupid, there were no signs indicating that this was against hotel policy. The room itself was another disappointment, it was in poor condition, with a broken toilet that added to our discomfort. On top of everything we wanted to play table tennis but they refused to turn on the lights when we asked. Overall, I expected much more from this 4 stars hotel. I highly recommend to save your money and choose somewhere that actually values their guests.

The property is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but in reality, it falls far below that standard—more accurately resembling a 2-star establishment at best. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing and concerning. The first thing we were told at check-in by the receptionist was that we should pay to use the room safe deposit box because, and I quote, “you never know what can happen with your valuables.” This immediately made us feel unsafe and uneasy about the security of our belongings in a place that is supposed to offer comfort and peace of mind. The room itself was completely unacceptable. Our balcony overlooked a garbage disposal area, creating an unpleasant and unsanitary environment. The shower head was covered in mould, the water taps were encrusted with limescale, and the room was infested with bugs. Most concerning of all, however, were the serious electrical hazards. There are exposed wires and poorly secured sockets throughout the room. These are located at floor level—exactly where our young son plays and moves around. This poses a clear risk of electric shock or fire, which is deeply distressing for us as parents. The red and black wires protruding from the wall appear to be improperly insulated, and at least one socket is visibly damaged and loose. We spend time in this room daily, and the condition we’ve been left in is not only unacceptable but potentially dangerous. From both a safety and legal standpoint, this situation is a serious breach of the standards advertised.

We deeply regret choosing Hotel Mediterraneo in Hersonissos. Despite clearly requesting a room near the elevator (due to mobility issues), we were given a room far away, only accessible via many stairs – completely unsuitable. The room itself was filthy: old, poorly maintained, and infested with bugs. There were dead insects under the bed, cockroaches running around, and thick cobwebs hanging from the lamps. Completely unacceptable. The food was also a major letdown: the same dishes every day, served lukewarm and lacking any real taste. We could barely eat any of it. On top of that, the staff – especially at the bar – were rude and unhelpful. In our opinion, this hotel doesn’t deserve any stars, let alone four. We strongly advise others to avoid this place. Save your money and choose a better hotel. For us, definitely never again!

HONEST Review incoming, First up :- HOTEL, This is NOT a 4 Star Hotel, by anyone's imagination, 2-3 Star would be more accurate. Hotel & Facilities, Basic, but generally clean, most days maid service and hot showers, solar / sun heated water. Beds fairly firm but do have foam mattress toppers also Real double bed, not two singles pushed together... Note, if you like quiet, we would suggest a top of block room as no one above you to bang and crash around. Hotel has a fair gym and sauna, 4 main Pools are available, including, two chutes, pool bars etc, the usual reserving of sunbeds with towels was a daily occurrence, come down early a.m to reserve, definitely before breakfast ! STAFF, Usual, some, stand offish, a little rude, most pleasant, few Superb including Angelo, The Restaurant Manager, only member of staff that We met who was very welcoming, Efcharisto Sir 🙏🏽. FOOD & DRINK, All Okay, often not a lot of choice and basic, however themed nights offered more choice and flavour's availability. The food buffet serving area is Not fit for purpose, it is too small, however, this is so to accommodate as many guest's seating as possible. All inclusive includes, Buffet, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner + Snack bars open from 11am daily serving, Pizza, Salad, Fries, Burgers & ice creams etc, Tea, Coffee, Beer and Juice also available. Meal Times, Arrive early or later about 3/4 of the way through to avoid the Hoards, Note, it does get VERY busy ! Drinks, All inclusive, includes, Local beer, wines, some fruit juices & soft drinks, other drinks, Branded, Cocktails, Bottles of Beer, Alcopops etc are all available at extra cost. LOCATION, Just off the main, not too busy road, with good public bus links. The Bus costs €2 each for local journeys, per seat used inc children. Heraklion is only €3.50 each and well worth a visit but not on Sunday as a lot of shops, businesses are closed. A Taxi to the local town of Hersonissos is also easy to get from reception, priced €9 Euros, each way for 4x People, literally a 5 minute journey. Three Good sandy beaches are located opposite the Hotel, however they are not that easily accessible, Caution, walk across the main road to the left of the Bus Stop there is a path there to access the nearest beach which is lovely, sandy and only a 15 minute walk. No facilities are available, so take a BIG Bottle of cold water and there's no shade, a further 10 min walk gets you another sandy beach with child friendly shade near the rock edges at the far end, great for families on hot days. Summing up:- Don't have too higher expectations, think average, reasonable value for money, good for families and All Should be Good, Safe Travels, Efcharisto, Crete 🙏🏽
