The location is great. Subway entrance is right next to the front door with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Staff are responsive and friendly. The room is a good size for NYC. Although one of the front elevator was broken for my entire 3-day stay and there is no refrigerator in the room, it didn’t affect my trip much. I’m fully aware of the daily additional charge and the front desk reminded me when checking in, so no complain on that. Everything else is perfect for my stay and I’ll not hesitate to come back again.

I stayed here while visiting NYC. My visit was very busy so the amenities of the room weren’t super important but if they were, I would not have chosen this hotel. There was no refrigerator. The room was small. Although it was small, it was somewhat updated and most of all, clean. The view from my room was basically another building which was somewhat understandable given its location which is convenient. The hotel overall was clean and not a bad stay. The door men were nice and kept the hotel secure. If you are just looking for a base and have a busy trip, it’s definitely not a bad place to stay.

Stayed in a 2 Queen Deluxe with my mom for 2 nights. Plenty of room for us both and a fridge. The view was of construction on the building next door so that was a bummer but it's not the hotels fault. The US Open is currently going on and if you ask the front desk, they'll give you a specially branded tennis ball as a free souvenir. The food at the Bronze Owl was just OK. You get $15 food and beverage credit per day of your stay, plus if you're a Gold or Diamond Hilton member you get an additional credit to combine. Basically 1 dinner & 1 breakfast was covered in full which was extremely helpful while traveling on a budget. The hotel is a 5 minute straight shot from Penn Station / Madison Square Garden. In Ktown so there's tons of great restaurants in walking distance. There's a full staff 24/7 which made me feel very safe. 10/10 stay, would definitely come back & recommend

I’m a frequent traveller and this unfortunately was one of the most disappointing stays, as much as I wanted to like this hotel. They are undergoing major renovations seemingly right outside of my window on 4th floor, and the noise was unbearable – constant hammering, knocking, and sawing starting early in the morning and continuing throughout the day. You’re guaranteed to be waken up by the noise which could not be avoided even with ear plugs given the noise travels through the building. The AC, as others had abundantly complained, is another source of disturbance. Even after switching it to low mode, it’s very loud when operating. The worst part is when it starts or stops operating - it makes a huge clicking noise that woke me up repeatedly during the night like a clockwork. It was impossible to get a good night’s sleep or any peace or quiet, which I intended between two days of flights and expected as the most fundamental service a hotel should provide. What makes this worse is the lack of transparency. There was no clear warning about the renovations and early morning noises when booking or checking in, which feels very misleading. Guests should have the right to know before accepting rooms impacted by renovation. Setting the noise aside, the rooms are tiny (barely more than a double bed’s space + bathroom), the beds nothing to take home about, and despite all the work going on or the better decor in the lobby, the rooms and hallway still feel old and outdated. This contrasts the luxury image the hotel tries to market itself against or the rates they try to charge. On the flip side, I did find all the staff I interacted friendly and helpful. However, if you value rest, comfort, and honesty, choose another hotel instead. EDIT: I had to deduct the other star from my rating due to their General Manager’s response ‘we provide notice regarding the ongoing enhancements’. The careful choice of words to downplay the scale of renovation and its impact and the fact that at no point of my customer journey (booking, check in etc) did I get informed of this renovation is exactly the kind of disappointing behaviours that I was referring to, which now seems clear to have come from their top management.

We stayed in a king suite room. The floors were all carpet and the room barely had any sunlight. This is the view from our room. There was construction 24/7. You have to pay $15 per day extra which you can use for credit however they don't let you cancel. The thing I can appreciate was housekeeping.
