I was very leery on writing a review based on our recent stay but I want to make sure that I warn others of some things that happened while we were there. I had requested an early check in. I understand that those are not always guaranteed but when I booked the hotel and also the day before we arrived; I notified the hotel that we would arrive around 3 pm. We had two young kids with us. Upon arrival at 3 pm, we checked in at the front desk. The gentleman told us our room wasn't quite ready yet but it shouldn't be too long. No big deal. We visited the pool bar and waited for a call. It was 3 minutes until 4 when we finally got our room. It started out our experience not that great. You can't tell me that there was not a 2 queen bed room that we would have been placed in upon our arrival. Second, I booked the Captiva tower. I have stayed at many resorts in the past that have multiple "towers" that are all close in proximity. Little did we know, the Captiva tower was a short golf cart ride away that we always had to call and request before being able to come back to the main part. Outside of the Captiva tower it smelled like rotten eggs. Each guest we talk with made a comment about the smell. It also seemed like a foreign land. Other than when the golf cart ran the shuttle when called, there was no staff stationed at the Captiva tower. The Captiva tower had a pool. I took the kids to the pool, no towels were in the box. The night of our stay, there was a Gala going on. We felt very outnumbered in our "street" clothing when going to the main area that evening. Food was few and far between. The restaurant was only offering a buffet, at least that is what we were told by the host when trying to get a table. The pool bar was closing at 6 pm. I told the bartender that we were looking for something that our kids would eat. He put in a to go order and we were able to get food for the kids right as it was closing. The pool area and beach area at the main resort were amazing. We have no complaints about that. The final straw that made me decide to write this review was on the day of checkout, the cleaning service entered our room at 10:20 asking us if they could come in and clean the room. Mid you checkout is at 11 am. I kindly informed the cleaning lady we still had 40 minutes before checkout time. We normally stay on Fort Myers Beach but I wanted to try something else. For what we spent on one night, it defiantly was not worth what we went through as a family. We will take our business back to Fort Myers where we know what type of service we will receive.

Overall, I feel that you don’t get nearly what you pay for. They list a “welcome drink” as part of the $35/day resort fee- but this is not offered. You have to track down an employee to obtain this and they have to walk you to a bar. The pools aren’t heated as advertised; or if they’re heated- they’re not heated well. The pool bar attendants were nowhere to be found. The towels in the room were loaded with hair and stains- but they did bring new ones. Our AC also seized up but they also fixed that promptly. Only two elevators were working 10-15 minute wait each time to ride. The on site restaurant, Tarpon House, had decent lunch. The dinner buffet left much to be desired, slimy shrimp kept me from testing my luck with the crab legs. The prime rib was very tasty. The on site coffee shop was overpriced for what you get. Ordered a vanilla frappe and received a blended unsweetened milk drink. No fault to the hotel, but the last night we stayed we barely got any sleep due to slamming doors in the hall, banging and yelling until 2:30 am (maybe later), and starting again at 06:30. Maybe they should invest in softer close doors to prevent future guests from the all night disturbances. The beds are extremely uncomfortable with worn out springs and should be replaced immediately. Woke up with back and neck aches. On the plus side, the spa was nice and a beautiful walk to get there. I had the body scrub which was rejuvenating and my husband had the one hour massage - which was also very good- keep in mind the spa experiences are very pricey. Overall I had a nice weekend with my husband but for the price we paid- I feel the Marriott oversold and under delivered.

Stayed for two nights used pool (heated to 84 degrees)and bar / restaurant, they also have bar on pool deck with waiter / waitress service that also serve food from provided menu. There is also a regular upscale restaurant in lobby. Hotel is very clean luxurious with valet parking or free self park in covered garage with short walk to elevator. Front desk was extremely helpful . The property is located at the foot of Sanibel causeway . Room very clean and everything worked well. Bathrooms updated shower and vanitie hair dryer, iron and board, safe. Bed sheets were comfortable as well as the bed. All with a Awesome sunset and gulf view from balcony! Yes would definitely stay here again.

Wednesday, January 14, 2026 80 minute relaxation massage. First time there. Everyone there is very cordial. The place is clean and the amenities are super good (relaxation room, locker room, jacuzzi, and showers). Jin was awesome. It's a little pricey when they auto add in service charge (tip) and admin fee but it was still very nice.

We had the most wonderful experience at this resort! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, and we have to give a very special shout-out to Nick. He went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He helped us get a fantastic room that was perfect for our family, and he was absolutely amazing with our son, Dallas — even surprising him with some pool toys as we checked in. That small gesture meant so much and set the tone for a truly memorable stay. Every part of the resort exceeded our expectations: the atmosphere, the amenities, the cleanliness, and above all the kindness of the staff. We honestly can’t say enough great things about this place. We’re leaving already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend!
