Mediocre experience. The value proposition here is strong, with rooms averaging just over $100 a night. For a “4 star” (more like 3.5 max) hotel with large pools, a hot tub, and proximity to Orlando attractions, it’s not bad. That said, parking at night was not fun as many spots were taken. It’s also a let down that it’s $25/ per car per night here. The staff will also ask you about interest in a time share when getting your parking pass 🙄. The room was fine, bed hard as a rock, and a bit on the dated side. The biggest annoyance was the checkout time at 10 am, don’t recall that I’ve ever heard of that, followed by the hotel not allowing a flexible checkout. Sorry I’m a Marriott Silver tier and not Gold or something haha. All in all it’s a decent place, worth the money for families or large groups. I’ll be taking my money elsewhere in the future. This is a very large resort hotel with great facilities. There are various different pools with waterfalls and play areas, several jacuzzis, and a sauna. There is also a decent gym that overlooks a beautiful lake with fountains. The gardens are maintained beautifully and feature some interesting birds and wildlife. Check-in was smooth and we would particularly like to thank the housekeeping staff who are so friendly and do an excellent job. Rooms are large and well-equipped with toiletries, spare towels, ironing board, kitchen equipment, coffee machine, hairdryer, safe. There are also free laundry facilities. The only thing missing is a doormat (particularly after the Florida downpours!), and the WiFi needs improving. Staff were overall very friendly and helpful, with the exception of one staff member in the lighthouse coffee house, who was very blunt and rude and ended up closing the door in my face when she told me they were closing. This was the only exception to otherwise very polite staff. One additional note would be that we were concerned to see the wild turtles in the lake being fished out by their mouths with hooks and violently dropped back in the water by a child using fishing equipment (cheered on by adults). This was distressing to witness. Staff managing the fishing equipment need to ensure that the turtles are protected. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel- thank you!

Anyone giving a 4 or 5 must have never stated at a decent resort. First impression is a beautiful entrance... the front desk personnel are terrific. Pools are clean. The suites are very outdated and worn. Filthy grout in kitchen floor . Baseboards haven't been painted in years. Only 1 frying pan and old cheap pots and cutlery. The landscaping is adequate but sloppy. The 2 onsite food places are mediocre at best. The one with the coffee shop is dirty. The Employee room door that is quite visible hasn't been washed in years! Disgusting view from the customers perspective. The food is HORRIBLE . Aside from the expensive Grill at golf club, there are NO food options other than fried /frozen or pre packaged. So much more negatives than positives. Worst of all no employees outside of the front desk ever smile or appear happy. This was our 4th visit to MGV. It has gone downhill for sure. We wont return.

I’d recommend staying here. The value for what we paid was great. The pools are spacious and not overly crowded during the day.It’s actually pretty empty towards the end of the night, which was great. We were even able to have the entire pool to ourselves on one night. The rooms weren’t super luxury or modern, but it was decently updated and clean. Not far from universal, which was our main reason for booking. Only room for improvement I’d say is the food options. Nothing really stood out there, but it was an ideal option for our short term stay.

Amazing! Rooms are huge and clean. Pools are fantastic. There are quite a few of them too. Staff is friendly. There was a lot of things for the kids to do. Ping pong, sports etc. There are activities through out the day. It’s 5 minutes from discovery cove. We got a great deal on this vacation. We can’t wait to come back.
