Disappointing Experience – Not Value for Money Unfortunately, our stay at Marinas de Nerja Beach & Spa Aparthotel was far below expectations. From the moment we arrived, the experience was underwhelming. We were greeted (or rather, not greeted) at 8pm by a very stressed and distracted staff member at reception who ignored us for several minutes while serving another guest who approached from the side. The hotel itself feels tired and overcrowded, with noticeable smells of smoke and vaping throughout. The overall atmosphere is more functional than welcoming. Corridors are stark and soulless, resembling a hospital rather than a beachside retreat. Our apartment was located in a very dark part of the building, with no natural light and the added noise of nearby construction. The dining experience also lacked charm – both breakfast and dinner were served in a large, noisy canteen-style space focused purely on volume. There was little to no decor or ambiance, which made the experience feel more stressful than relaxing. In the end, we chose to leave after just one night. We relocated to an Airbnb in the old town of Nerja, which completely changed the tone of our holiday for the better. Even my children commented that the hotel "felt like a prison" – which sadly, echoed our sentiments. This hotel may suit travelers looking for basic, high-capacity accommodation, but at the price we paid, it did not deliver value or comfort. I would not return and wouldn’t recommend it to others seeking a relaxing, quality stay in Nerja.

We had our wedding at this hotel in May 2025. The location is absolutely beautiful, the ceremony takes place right at the edge of the beach and was gorgeously decorated. We had been to the hotel and met Eva and some of the team before the big day and it seemed like it would be perfect. Eva was so patient with my many, many messages to her full of questions and answered each one happily so we knew we were in good hands! I don't know exactly what we were expecting on the big day but it absolutely exceeded every expectation we could have had. It was AMAZING from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, efficient and so pleasant, you could just tell they wanted to do their absolute best for us and the guests which really showed. Right when I arrived I was introduced to a woman named Jennifer and informed she would be looking after me, and she really did. From minding my phone and perfume in her apron to ensuring we had absolutely everything we needed when we needed it, she was truly excellent. Eduardo, who also did our food tasting, was looking after the floor and staff it seemed and he was also exceptional, tables sang their praises about the never being without a drink and having plates cleared quickly after each course, etc. Both the canapes during the drinks hour and the meal itself were fabulous, we were delighted with how tasty it all was. There is a DJ that plays during dinner, something I had not seen done before. It is not too loud, just enough to keep the atmosphere going, our guests loved this, they thought he was a amazing as he played all the great songs us Irish love! The bartenders inside for the band/disco were also superstars, so good, everyone was having so much fun with them. All in all, we cannot compliment this hotel enough, if you're thinking of having your wedding here, just go for it, its amazing. 🥰

Decent little hotel, nice little pool right on a sandy beach. Easy to get to and friendly staff. The food was super basic and not very nice which is what ultimately brought the rating down to 3/5. I went in early April and it was sunny and bright but so windy it made it feel cold. I’m sure in the hot summer this place would be lively and more acceptable.

Perfect hotel for family holiday. Beautiful setting, brilliant outdoor facilities and pool. Right on the beach. I wouldn't class the rooms as 4 star as a little worn and outdated, but lovely hotel all the same. Food good with lots of variety. Only €8 taxi into town or around 30min walk which is really pleasant. Nerja town lovely. I would stay here again.

We had the best time here, we came over for a friend's wedding all the staff were great the food was excellent it's a beautiful location a real chiller of a hotel the bar staff are a great bunch of lads very friendly the place is spotless a 10/10 for me and my friends. We will be back thanks for the great service and experience 🙌🏻
