Mardi Gras hotel was good. The staff was great, very friendly. Room was fine, the room was a little dated, it needs to have some cosmetic fixes done. Room had a mini fridge, would have been great to have a microwave. Location of a couple blocks off the strip was nice. We were only a 1/2 mile from the monorail station which was great. We had a concert at MGM and it took us right there. We would consider staying here again.

Check in and out was easy, with friendly people. The reviews are fairly accurate. If you're picky you won't like it here. Building has seen better days, carpet is not great, small TV, they forgot to fill Kleenex box and some other minor oversights. But I'll definitely be back anyway. Check in and out times were better than many (3:00pm in and 11am out). Bed is very comfortable. Room is a good size. Sheets were clean. Room was mostly clean, with unclean-looking surfaces probably reflecting age more than cleanliness. There is one thing I liked very much: $6 resort fees. I hate resort fees. I think they're basically a lie and a scam. And while they have one, and should get rid of it and just have an accurate price, it's very small and in my case collected up front. For Vegas that turns a 4* review into a 5*. This is far and away the cheapest option walking distance from the Vegas Convention Center. Huge plus. If your company isn't sure a conference is cost effective and you want to go, leverage this to lower your price and mostly eliminate transportation costs. McDonald's and a gas station with good, cold beer for pretty cheap in very easy walking distance. While it has faults, for somebody on a mission traveling on the cheap, it's great. Casino seems nice. Didn't use it myself, but nicer than the rest of the building for sure.

You get what you pay for, for sure. We arrived a bit early and were given the option to check-in early, which we did. Our first room has massive pry bar marks on the door (see photo), indicating people have broken into it before. They let us move rooms to one that wasn’t tucked away in a corner and had no pry marks on the door. The rooms were big, but still Vegas hotel rooms, so no microwave or anything useful in the kitchen, so you’ll have to bring your own kitchen appliances despite having a dedicated kitchen in the room. What did it for me was the “security guard.” The security guard here is basically a handyman who doesn’t want to do his job. He was called to fix someone’s toilet, but saw me riding my electric skateboard back to my hotel room, which is how I get around (completely normal in my part of the country), and he put maintenance to the side to harass me for about 20 minutes, leaving someone with a clogged toilet. I heard him yelling at me, so I talked to him for a bit. He treated me like a trespasser, not a guest at the hotel. When I acknowledged his request for me not to ride my skateboard on the property, he wouldn’t leave it. He said he wanted to kick me out of the room I paid for without a refund, all for riding a skateboard. When I was walking to the front desk to talk to his manager, he followed me around and filmed me like a crazy person. In the end, his manager told him to stop messing around and go fix the toilet, and that was the end of that, but I had to sneak into my own room from that point forward so this crazy guy wouldn’t retaliate against me. Never coming back here again.

The personal are very nice, very helpful.. The food and the price is good 👍 hotel prices are reasonable. But the rooms are cleaned every 3 days.😬 no microwave, no coffee in the room's..the rooms are 50 years old,it's what they told me at the desk.and they look like it.😷 and the carpets are probably original.. no coffee or water in the lobby. The pool and jacuzzi are very nice... free parking a plus I was here, 20days. Everything you need is very close by. A special thanks to maria . Friendly smile in the restaurant. whenever she's working morning or night..

This is a good value pick. The contact areas in the rooms are clean, but there were areas that weren't; floor behind bathroom door, random hairs on doorframes, etc. There are no amenities in the rooms. Bring your own water. Coffee is cheap in the bar, but getting service can be difficult. One guy working was friendly, got our stuff, smile on his face. Then I go in this morning and the bartender took ten minutes to bring me coffee and then when I was wanting a refill I spent 25 minutes trying to make eye contact. She had one other customer... Other staff are hit or miss. Some desk staff are super nice, some act like they were rejected by the TSA for being too aggressive. Also, if you're a cigar smoker they don't let you smoke in the bar, which is really weird. I'd still come back, but set your expectations accordingly.
