We had a wonderful experience staying at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The stunning views, exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, delicious meals, and spacious, beautifully appointed rooms made our stay truly memorable. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the service was warm and impeccable throughout. We especially appreciated the serene atmosphere and the seamless blend of luxury and comfort. If there is a better hotel in Thailand, I don't know what it is. Superb levels of service, a beautiful property, full of rich history particularly literary (I liked waking early and working in the James Michener suite, one of my favorite authors). My tips are consider visiting the low season (July and August) when rates are the lowest. All rooms are very good and spacious. The afternoon tea is highly recommended. Use their transfer to and from the airport, it has many perks. They actually have people at the airport to help you with your luggage and check in to your flight which was a very nice surprise. I'll certainly be back.

A Royal Welcome. The Best of Southeast Asian Hospitality Review: Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the grace and elegance you would expect from a royal palace. The check-in experience was incredible. We were greeted with a fresh jasmine flower garland, a beautiful and unforgettable gesture that captured the essence of Thai hospitality. It immediately made us feel calm, cherished, and connected to the place. We stayed for four nights, and by the second day, most of the staff were already greeting us by our last name. That level of attentiveness and personal touch is rare and left a lasting impression. The entire team—from the doormen to reception, housekeeping, and restaurant staff—delivered exceptional service with genuine warmth and grace. This was truly the best of Southeast Asian hospitality. The hotel itself is stunning, with lush gardens, tranquil riverfront views, and interiors full of timeless character. The attention to detail and refinement in every aspect of the stay reflected superb quality. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok sets the gold standard. For anyone seeking cultural richness, comfort, and truly heartfelt service, this is the place. We left with full hearts and unforgettable memories.

I stayed here for the first time on August 14, 2025, and I truly regret not coming earlier. For years, I avoided this hotel thinking it was simply an “old property,” always choosing others instead. However, its consistent reputation, Michelin 3-Key recognition, and Forbes 5-Star rating convinced me to finally try it. The result? This is my lifetime favorite hotel. From the moment I arrived by taxi, a gracious gentleman warmly greeted us, reassured us that our luggage would be taken care of, and personally escorted us to the lobby while asking our names and how we were doing. It was the perfect first impression. At the front desk, another gentleman handled our check-in with such courtesy and comfort, even arranging our afternoon tea reservation for the next day. Our butler then welcomed us sincerely and made us feel completely at home. After checkout, we visited the Authors’ Lounge, where we were surprised by a thoughtful celebration of our special occasion—something we never even mentioned. The staff’s constant attention to tea and food made the experience unforgettable. The swimming pools felt like a hidden resort oasis, with both deep and shallow pools available. As always, the staff were attentive and warm. Crossing the river to the gym was another highlight. The setting itself was peaceful, and although the gym was not large, the staff’s dedication to cleaning and maintaining equipment was extraordinary. When I got lost searching for the shower room, a young lady from Sala Rim Naam restaurant—despite it not being her responsibility—kindly guided me. The shower facilities were both luxurious and authentically Thai in style, and the staff there were equally kind. I am already planning to try the spa on my next visit. At Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, every corner is filled with smiling faces and genuine care. Unlike other hotels where some shortcomings are inevitable, I could not find a single flaw here. Without question, I will return.

Beautiful hotel and the staff were amazing. Will be back here for sure and the setting for breakfast and dinner on the river is great. One frustration for me though is the lack of consistency on dress code for the restaurant by the river. I was told I wasn’t allowed to wear shorts (which is fine) but then see two women walk in wearing Thai boxing shorts and am told that this is fine by staff. Either keep the policy and enforce properly across sexes or don’t have one at all.
