I chose a one-night stay at this Marriott hotel to evaluate its suitability for a potential longer stay. Utilizing my suite upgrade certificate, I was pleased to be accommodated in a spacious suite with two bathrooms. The welcome gifts of wine, spring water, flowers, and cookies were a thoughtful touch from the hotel team.
However, the suite's location on the 6th floor meant that the sea view was partially obscured by neighboring residential buildings. The suite's bathrooms appeared outdated, with one adapted for handicapped access, and the lighting was insufficient during nighttime. The vent system and air conditioning were also disruptively noisy along with poor sound proof, necessitating earplugs for sleep. Additionally, my stay was interrupted twice by maintenance staff needing to check on something within the suite.
While the M lounge is accessible 24/7, with an amazing sea view and a large patio ideal for sunset viewing, the breakfast buffet and happy hour offerings were disappointing in both quality and variety. The coffee was particularly poor. It became chaotic and fully packed with families and kids. Surprisingly, unlike other Marriott hotels I've stayed around the world, this one does not offer a full breakfast at the restaurant for top-tier elite members.
Given these experiences, I am hesitant to return to this hotel or recommend it to platinum and higher-tier members for extended stays.

I had a lot of unpleasant things in Malta, but after coming to the Marriott Hotel, the hotel facilities were so nice and the friendly staff allowed me to finish my trip happily. The view from the room was so nice, and the bathroom had a bathtub, so I was very satisfied. And as it is located in front of the sea, it has a secluded and vacation spot.

Lovely place for a break, staff couldn't do more for us, room was spacious and spotless and had everything we needed. It's near bus stops, including direct routes from the airport, as well as great restaurants and handy local shops. We didn't use the spa but it looked lovely, plus our room balcony was over the spa courtyard so we heard the soothing music whenever we had the door open. We'll definitely consider going back.

We went for their Classic Afternoon Tea for 35 euro for 2 and it was great. Staff was lovely, nice view of Balluta bay from their terrace, there is waiting time of 45-60 minutes for the food if you don't book in advance as everything is cooked fresh. Everything was tasty except the prawn-dog, but that was compensated by some of the food being super yummy.
Will definitely go again.

I'd love to give it a 5-star rating, and it's almost there. One complaint I have of the room we stayed in was the toilet being in a different room from the bathroom was very inconvenient. There was also not a sink to wash hands in the toiler after you’re done, so you just have to walk out with dirty hands to the bathroom to wash hands. Also, the fridge is locked and will only be opened upon request. Apparently, they do this because the fridge is sensor-activated, so if any item is removed, it is automatically charged to your bank card.
As I have a young child, having many snacks handy is necessary, and I wanted to keep some of the snacks cool in the room, but I wasn't able to due to the locked fridge. The staff was helpful enough and assisted in keeping my food items in another fridge somewhere else for me. However, I didn't feel comfortable having my food kept so far away from me because I didn't want it to be tampered with. You should have another system for keeping track of your minibar rather than locking up the fridge.
All staff were very nice and professional, living up to Marriott's standards. The hotel location is excellent with easy access to a good range of restaurants and cafes.
The indoor swimming pool is very nice, albeit a bit small, but it is adequate for my needs.
My biggest complaint is the locked fridge, which prevents me from giving it a full five stars.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this to everyone who travels to Malta. Thank you.
