I checked into Mai Samui around 5:30 PM, only to be told that my room still wasn’t ready because housekeeping is outsourced. Not exactly what you expect after a long journey. That was only the beginning. On the first night, I found a lizard sitting on the table in my room. The staff eventually removed it later that night, so I gave the place the benefit of the doubt. The second night was unbelievable. I found another lizard — this time on the bed, under the pillow. There was no staff anywhere. The reception area was empty. I spent almost an hour searching for anyone who worked there. When I finally did find someone, she couldn’t remove it. I ended up changing rooms at 3 AM. So yes, middle of the night room move because the hotel literally couldn’t handle a basic hygiene and safety issue. What really sealed it for me was the attitude. There was no apology. No acknowledgment of the inconvenience. No sense that the manager or team cared at all. Just complete indifference. This hotel is extremely short staffed and very poorly managed. Easily the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend not booking this place. There are far better options on the island, and you shouldn’t have to deal with this level of neglect on your holiday.

We had a wonderful stay and a truly relaxing experience. Any small issues at the beginning were handled quickly and professionally, and the staff was always kind, attentive, and ready to help. The hotel has a beautiful and intimate private beach, with crystal-clear water, palm trees, a large shared swimming pool, and a beach bar. Everything is clean, peaceful, and very well maintained, making it ideal for couples and for anyone looking to relax. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. We also noticed that parts of the hotel have been beautifully renovated, and it’s clear that the team is continuously improving and refreshing the property with great care. The hotel also offers a gym and a spa area, which add extra comfort to the stay. The housekeeping service was excellent — our room was cleaned every day, towels were changed daily, and we were pleasantly surprised with lovely towel arrangements, different each day, which was a very nice touch. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide variety of Thai and international dishes, and the staff is happy to prepare items on the spot. Room service is also very good, offering tasty food and a good selection. A very special thank you to NOK, who truly made our stay exceptional. She is extremely professional, kind, and attentive, always making sure everything is well taken care of. Her positive attitude and genuine care for guests really stand out. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return whenever we can — we’ve been coming back every year so far.

Located about 10 minutes from Nathon pier this is a beautifully designed resort! The rooms are very inviting and warm and the pools are great too. Pros 1. Not as touristy/crowded as the east side of the island- serene view of the beach and horizon! 2. They have free shuttle service to and from the pier as well as Chaweng beach (where all the clubs and restaurants are). This is quite convenient as Grab is quite expensive on the island. 3. Comfortable and spacious rooms with balconies. Some of the rooms also have direct pool access too. 4. Room service is punctual and food at the restaurant is quite good! 5. Great for couples and families alike Cons 1 Not too many options with no-meat at their breakfast buffet although the lunch and dinner menu have sufficient vegetarian/no-meat options. Also, breakfast buffet was the same everyday of stay 2. The beach bar closes at 6, would be great if it closes slightly later

We have been very disappointed by the whole experience with this hotel. On the first night on arrival we have given a room very damp smell, tv not working , floors were very creaky and the bed was very uncomfortable and overall everything outdated. Because we arrived very late (10 pm) and the light in the room wasn’t bright we haven’t noticed the cleanliness in the room until next morning. Breakfast was poorly presented not too many choices and very dirty everywhere. After the breakfast we went to see the pool and the beach area where we been disappointed again. The pool was filthy and you barely could see the the bottom of the pool. The beach is full of big stones so no way to be there. The beach area from the hotel didn’t have enough sunbeds and all taken. After we been in reception trying to upgrade the room to one of the Villas with the pool and the management told us that the costs will be £1800 for the remaining 6 nights. We refused to pay such a price for basically the same facilities just a hopefully a cleaner room and pool. We have contacted our Rep and after sending her pictures and videos we told her that we would have to change the hotel even if we have to pay from our pocket because we don’t want to get sick and have the holiday ruined, she contacted the management and we have been moved into a Villa pool room with an amazing view a cleaner room. Anyway I do not recommend this hotel. Apart off the view is nothing there, everything very outdated and dirty.

Pros: A perfect place for a peaceful getaway — ideal for newlyweds or adults without children (kids might find it a bit boring). The Pool Access Room is spacious and comfortable, with direct access to the pool. It was clean and cosy. The swimming pool is huge. In fact, there are two pools on two levels. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Chaweng and Nathon twice a day, which is convenient for lunch, massages, or a leisurely walk. Cons: Housekeeping could be improved — toiletries were not always replenished. The pool occasionally appeared not very clean, and water maintenance could be better. Breakfast was repetitive and lacked flavour. There was an unpleasant sewage smell in the bathroom in the mornings. The hotel is quite far from town: during low tide, you can walk along the shore to reach cafés and shops, but at high tide, you’ll need a taxi or the hotel shuttle. During our stay, the hotel didn’t fully feel like a true 5-star property. This might have been due to the low season (24.09–04.10), as the staff seemed to be preparing for the upcoming high season.
