The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and incredibly attentive. The buffet food was excellent and varied, and we could also order à la carte, with live background music or a show. The beach is wonderful — white, fine sand and very wide. At low tide you can walk several meters, as the water recedes and creates large sandbanks and small natural pools. Even when the tide comes in, you can still swim for several meters while keeping your feet on the ground. The water is crystal clear and extremely warm — sometimes we had to go to the pool just to cool down. The cleanliness was impeccable, both in the rooms and in the outdoor areas. The décor is very beautiful, and the gardens are well maintained. The pool has a good size, very pleasant water, and excellent service. The only downsides were a few small power outages, which were resolved quickly, and the fact that there is no medical or nursing service on-site. I had to call a doctor — he arrived quickly, but I had to pay. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would return without any hesitation.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lux Marijani Zanzibar – more than a vacation, an experience that stays in the soul The Christmas vacation spent at Lux Marijani Zanzibar was, without exaggeration, one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. From the first contact until departure, everything was superlative, built with care, professionalism and a rare human warmth. The resort is impeccable: elegant, refined, extremely well maintained, with an atmosphere that perfectly combines discreet luxury with the authentic spirit of Zanzibar. The rooms are spacious, clean, carefully thought out down to the smallest details, and the common areas transmit tranquility, harmony and good taste. The food deserves a special mention – simply extraordinary. Each meal was an experience in itself: fresh ingredients, refined preparations, authentic tastes and impeccable presentation. The interaction with the chefs was special, full of openness and passion for what they do, and this is felt in every plate. What really makes the difference at Lux Marijani, however, is the team. The staff is exceptional: always smiling, attentive, respectful and genuinely interested in the well-being of the guests. We felt, from the first days, that we were not just tourists, but guests welcomed with an open heart. We made beautiful friends with some of the employees, authentic interactions that added immense emotional value to this vacation. The resort managers are present, involved and extremely professional. The dialogue with them was natural, open, and their sincere desire to provide an impeccable experience is visible in every detail of the resort. Lux Marijani does not only mean comfort and top-notch services, but warmth, respect, elegance and a hospitality that makes you want to come back. We leave with wonderful memories, gratitude and the certainty that this place will remain for us a benchmark of excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort to everyone who wants a memorable experience, not just a vacation.

So what did I think about the LUX resort? Gorgeous! A beautiful little resort with just 84 rooms so not crowded at all. Great customer service for sure. HOWEVER! Very disappointed because everything is charged in Dollars and the prices are way too high - so high it didn’t make sense. In addition to a mandatory travel insurance coverage of $22, these are some of their fees: - Room service $15 (it’s 500/- in Mombasa {$4}) - Small plate of Caesar salad with shrimp $22 - Hotel Taxi ride from airport to resort $80 each way! - Private taxi - $40 one way - Beach boys - $100 to walk you into the ocean 😳 - 1hr massage $110 Ridiculous! I’m not in America?! Even in America, prices are not that high! WTH!! 😡 In addition, they charge a $5 per day surcharge for city administration 😳. The food was nothing to write home about. I craved authentic Swahili dishes but the one night they had it, it was tasteless AND they didn’t have pilau or biriani 🤦🏽‍♀️. Nonetheless, I needed to get out of Kenya and visit the closest country (because I’m a kaguoya), and Zanzibar was it. Lesson learned: I love my country, Kenya Word of advice: Go to Mombasa, Kenya instead

This was our second stay at a LUX hotel, after staying at LUX Belle Mare, which we absolutely loved. Also this time, we were very happy with our choice. LUX Marijani is located at a beautiful beach that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The hotel is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly. We are very picky when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness, but at LUX Marijani we felt super comfortable the entire time. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly twice a day, the maids really do a fantastic job. The food was great as well, we especially enjoyed the omelet and crepes station at breakfast and the changing menu at the main restaurant. The BBQ at the beach was always a highlight, as well as the pasta station. Desserts were also very nice and beautifully decorated. We also appreciated the little sweet treats that were brought to our room daily or the watermelon that was served at the beach. It’s the little extras that make us really love the LUX hotels. Every night, there is some sort of entertainment, dancers, singers or acrobats, which was great, since there is not much around the hotel. The hotel garden, pool and beach area are beautiful and very well maintained. We especially want to thank Murshid, Ibrahim, Aloyce, David and Mustapha for doing such a great job and for making us feel very welcomed. We are definitely returning to LUX Marijani.

A lovely hotel. Beautiful place. Would give it a 4 star as we had been promised a few things upon check-in by a sweet talking receptionist. However we never got it. The staff were very welcoming, but a bit biased. The rooms were very well kept. The pool and beach are were also excellent. The food was however dissaoponting,especially the vegetarian section. There was eggplant dishes in all the three courses everyday, which was monotonous. However the chefs were very good especially chef Desi who went out of his way to serve us good food. Apart from the reception and food, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to a friend.
