Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort and Thalasso

Really relaxing holiday here last week. We have stayed at Lopesan Costa Meloneras before and thought we would try this hotel this time. Rooms are big, and bright but really lack power sockets! Good shower and nice big bathroom. We liked the little veranda as well. Nice big pools and plenty of sun loungers available most of the day. Breakfast was always good and lunch was nice too at the different venues. Service was really hit and miss from the bar staff however. Some days they were 100% spot on and other days you would be waiting 15-20 minutes for a drink and on several occasions you either didn't get a bill or your change after paying. Entertainment was decent enough but what I felt disappointed at, was they advertised 2 bars and 2 pool bars. Also a lobby bar and a nightclub. Only 1 bar was open (Pub Zythum) and 1 pool bar (Flat Roof). The other pool bar is actually a restaurant and they asked if we had booked, so then we had to wait even though there were 6 people in there. The other bar (Akoran) was closed as was the lobby bar and the nightclub. When we asked why, the staff said 'they closed it a few months ago but we don't know why'. If it's been closed for months, don't advertise it on your website! It is also starting to need a bit of TLC, as broken tiles in the pool, rust showing on the Alpendre roof and just little tired elements starting to show. However, we did enjoy it there and would recommend this hotel for the price we paid. I do think however we will try Baobob next time though, just so we have done all three hotels.

Lovely environment and a great reception. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Swimming pools adequate but over crowded especially the seating areas. All in all a nice experience but seriously affected by the food quality in the buffet restaurants and most annoyingly the staff do not take the time to understand the orders which is a pitty especially at the end of the day while sitting to enjoy the spectacles or the bands while were nice enough to enjoy had it not been for the time required to order and get what you asked for... missing half the show and getting upset enough to go out and visit one of the many places by the lighthouse.

We had an amazing stay! The rooms under Unique Service are very nice and comfortable. 👍🏻 We loved the breakfast, the view, and the great service from the cleaning team. One thing to mention — the service at the pool could use some attention. Many sunbeds were covered with towels but there were no people around, making it hard to find a free spot. Also, we were surprised that coffee and water had to be purchased through the app — we only discovered this later in our stay 😉. It’s different from other hotels we’ve stayed in, but overall, it was still a very positive experience.

Overall, we were really satisfied with our stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend it to others. Big kudos to the fitness instructor around lunchtime – always energetic and full of positive vibes! Definitely not the same experience we had at the Baobab Hotel. The rooms were spotless throughout our stay – the housekeeping team clearly puts in great effort and deserves recognition. One thing we noticed was a big difference between the two breakfast areas. The one to the left, had a much fresher and wider selection of food. The right-side area (when facing the reception) felt completely different for some reason – the atmosphere was darker due to the lighting, it almost felt like an evening setting, and unfortunately, the food didn’t seem as fresh, which should be a must while staying in a 5* hotel. It’s worth noting that there are always guests seemed to wait for a table in the main area rather than choosing the other section (and yes that means that the main area has more work than the other so they need to divide it somehow)– and that speaks for itself. This isn’t meant as criticism, but rather a suggestion to improve the experience and make it more consistent across the hotel. That said, Lopesan Hotels are generally our first choice when staying in Gran Canaria – and with a few small tweaks, this place could be close to perfect.

Unfortunately, the standard of this hotel was very disappointing. During our stay, we experienced a very unpleasant incident – the balcony doors were broken, which meant anyone could easily enter our room without us noticing. As a result, sunglasses, headphones, and some cosmetics were stolen. The staff did nothing to resolve the situation. We spoke with the manager, but she did not show much care about our case and took no responsibility for giving us a room with such a defect. For a 5-star hotel, I definitely expected much more. In addition, there is a clear difference in how “unique” guests and regular guests are treated, which should never happen in a 5-star hotel – all guests deserve equal treatment. The food could also be improved – for example, the paella was always dry and the fruits were often unripe and unlike last year bathrobes were no longer provided. Overall, we were not satisfied with the service.
