The hotel itself is stunning – truly breathtaking when you arrive. Facilities are beautiful and spotless, housekeeping is excellent, and both food & beverage are of a very high standard. Staff are kind and welcoming. However, two areas fell far below the 5-star level: • Entertainment Team: While the team is friendly, the activities I attended felt unprofessional and unprepared. For example, during a stretching class, the instructor was simply following a YouTube video instead of leading the session with proper knowledge and technique. In the aqua dance class, the lack of rhythm and repetitive steps made the experience feel improvised rather than engaging. I believe a stronger focus on assigning the right staff to the right activities would significantly enhance guest satisfaction. • Spa: Unfortunately, the massage facilities was the weakest point of my stay. No personal consultation, no questions about health or needs, just a robotic protocol delivered with little care or skill. The massage itself was rough, impersonal, and far from relaxing. Overall, it felt like a basic massage parlor, not at the level of a 5 star hotel, and it does not match the otherwise excellent standards of the hotel. If I was the GM of this hotel, I would be embarrassed to have this kind of service in my facilites.

This resort is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed with a unique African theme that sets it apart from any other place we’ve stayed. The attention to detail in the architecture and landscaping creates a luxurious, tropical atmosphere that’s both relaxing and exciting. The rooms were spacious, spotless and very comfortable. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options at the buffet. Everything was fresh, tasty and well-presented. The pools and common areas were always clean and inviting, and there was always something to do - whether you wanted to relax with a drink, explore the grounds, or head out to the nearby beach or local attractions. The staff was also amazing. Every team member we encountered - from the front desk to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping team - was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming.

Currently writing this while emotionally recovering from how perfect this place is. The weather? Biblical. The pool? Baptized me into relaxation. The breakfast buffet? Made me question my moral integrity. My pregnant wife is glowing like a goddess, and I’ve never been so hydrated in my life. Lopesan Baobab isn’t a resort — it’s a spiritual awakening with room service.

Beautiful hotel but that's all there is. Housekeeping ignored 'do not disturb' multiple times. Waking us up the first few days, what the ...? There is a lot of noise from other guests which is easy to hear through the walls and ceiling. The beds move easily in every room which also creates a lot of noise every morning. Maybe invest in some rubber mats?A lot of crying, annoying children. The toilet paper unfortunately is as thin as a needle. We had a third party member in our bathroom for the whole vacation, a cockroach. I have visited a 5 star hotel which had a lot more personal attention than Baobab. This is basicly a mass tourist resort with nice looking buildings and swimming pools. Not coming back.

A good hotel, very pretty surroundings with trees, water, fish, turtles and light up flamingos. The layout is a bit confusing! Staff are friendly but are a little disorganised. Different staff members have differing answers to the same question, or they seem to need to speak to others to answer a question, and even then it’s different responses from all involved. Rooms are clean and comfortable but no facilities to make a hot drink- sacrilege for us Brits! You can’t make a cuppa in your room!!! This is something you must pay to have an upgrade for, or as reception kindly offered, you can rent a coffee machine (in a 5* hotel, in 2025, seriously!?) Food and drink is of good quality and relatively good variety - although it is a bit awkward for anyone with a dietary requirement: They ask you to tell them in advance and then have no recollection of that when you arrive, 2-3 staff rush around and eventually produce a laminated allergens menu so you can help yourself - however, not all food items are on there. Some foods do not have an information card, so you end up asking anyway which causes the same 3 staff to rush around to find out. It would be avoided if the dishes had cards with allergens shown on them. Good gym spaces and food quality equipment. Gym is not air conditioned. Now, the ‘unique’ experience thing is odd. We did it but not really worthwhile, the breakfast area has no atmosphere. The buffet is basically the same but you can order your eggs to the table. Not really what you would call a luxury service. The VIP lounge feels like a forgotten area of an old department store, kind of plonked at the top of the building with a few chairs, tables and a random selection of snacks and some drinks in a fridge. Not quite VIP. Where are the cocktails? The atmosphere? I felt like I was waiting for something to happen that never did. The VIP pool area is crammed. And is basically the opposite side of the same pool everyone else uses. The difference is you get a cushion on the lounger and an orange towel- you do get free lemon water and plastic cup with chopped up fruit. Wow. Then dinner is the same as everyone else or you pay again to eat in the breakfast area and choose from a menu… bit of a let down but never mind. Overall a good place to stay. Not sure on the 5* rating in contrast to other hotels and resorts that seem to have the finer touches sorted- it all seems a little chaotic here.
