My husband and I did 3 nights here for our honeymoon in January 2024. We Loved our experience here. We really enjoyed having Cruz and Lloyd with us on the game drives. They were so friendly, professional and educational. They made us feel calm, safe and always smiling. They really went the extra mile in our opinion. The food was incredible and very appreciated as well as the cleanliness of our room every time we walked in - and always fully stocked with the mini bar drinks! We absolutely loved the barbeque on our last night, the food, dancing and looking at the stars in the dark there was incredible. The only sad part was that we did not get a chance to book the treehouse for a night - that was my fault for not having done it in advance. Overall, we would love to come back soon & will definitely recommend to friends!

Lovely and attentive staff who handled our food allergies with tailored, personalized menus. The facility is beautiful and you can watch animals from your breakfast table (today I saw buffalo and hippopotamus). The game drives were spectacular (thanks to Gus and Noel). Lots of opportunities to eat including during the game drives. The team here at Lion Sands River Lodge made this an unforgettable vacation.

Spent 4 days enjoying Sabi Sands Game Reserve with incredible service, delicious food, impeccable rooms, stunning views and beautiful wildlife. The game drives were the highlight - Gino and Patric were professional and kind. I felt comfortable and safe. I also never doubted that they were working hard to give us the best experience and to see all the wildlife the reserve has to offer. They both are incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and environment - leaving no questions unanswered. Our room was updated and clean. We had access to anything and everything we could have wanted at anytime we wanted it. Our butler was detail oriented and attentive. All in all it was a phenomenal time. We considered staying elsewhere but are very thrilled we chose to stay here.

My mom and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating her 75th birthday with a trip to South Africa. First and foremost, the game drives were a highlight of our visit. Our tracker, Culture, was nothing short of phenomenal. His deep knowledge of the wildlife and his ability to spot animals in their natural habitat greatly enhanced our safari experience. What also truly stood out was the impeccable service we received throughout our stay. Every need, no matter how small, was not only met but also anticipated, making us feel pampered and cared for. The attention to detail, particularly in the room, including the luxurious bathroom and shower amenities, did not go unnoticed. The massage we got at the spa was also wonderful and rivaled massages I've gotten around the world. On the downside, while the food tasted very good, five out of the six people we shared our game drives with – including my mom and myself on separate days – experienced food poisoning. This was quite distressing and put a damper on our otherwise enjoyable trip. Additionally, although the animal viewings were generally good, there were several instances when we couldn't spot animals due to the explanation that they had crossed into another Private Game Reserve where we were not allowed to go. This limitation on access to certain areas for animal sightings was somewhat disappointing. Lastly, we found our room (#1) to be quite far from the main lodge, which made it less convenient for us to access common areas. Moreover, our room had minimal views, which was disappointing given the breathtaking natural surroundings of the lodge. It's a great lodge, just make sure that you are in an area that has good viewing opportunities. All-in-all, it was a beautiful trip and the hospitality we received was amazing. Just a few hiccups, that are bound to happen anywhere. The memories we made will be cherished forever!

Service service service. We stayed here on our honeymoon and we’re BLOWN AWAY with our experience. If anything is worth highlighting, it’s the people that make this place truly special. We did 6 safaris here with Cruz as our guide and Culture as our tracker - what an amazing team. They keep the safaris lively and upbeat and are so talented at finding the animals. Can’t say enough nice things about these two, they anchored what was a lovely stay. Best housekeeping we’ve ever seen - shoutout to Loreto!
