The staff at Lion Sands Lodge exuded genuine care and passion for their craft, ensuring every aspect of our stay was beyond exceptional. The accommodations surpassed all expectations, offering a harmonious blend of natural charm and modern comfort. Our spacious tented suite provided a cozy retreat amidst the wild. Waking up to the symphony of nature, with the soft rustle of leaves and distant calls of wildlife, was an experience we will cherish forever.
But it was the safari experiences that truly stole our hearts. Our knowledgeable guide Kyle, and our excellent tracker Eddie, shared their profound love for the land. Each game drive was a thrilling odyssey into the heart of Sabi Sand. From witnessing the iconic Big Five in their natural habitat to marveling at the kaleidoscope of colors during sunset, every moment felt like a masterpiece painted by Mother Nature herself.
One of the highlights of our stay was the unforgettable bush dinner under the vast African sky. Surrounded by the flickering glow of lanterns and the rhythmic beat of traditional music, we savored exquisite culinary delights crafted from fresh, local ingredients. It was a culinary journey that tantalized the senses and celebrated the rich flavors of Africa.

Spending my weekend at Lion Sand River lodge was so amazing. The place is to die for. The staff there was very friendly and humble, they made sure you don’t get to complain about anything. They were so welcoming, the room was very nice with everything you need, the food was so lovely and the safari guide (Gus and Noel) were so amazing, they made sure we enjoy our tour. You just get to experience home away from home.

My husband and I did 3 nights here for our honeymoon in January 2024. We Loved our experience here. We really enjoyed having Cruz and Lloyd with us on the game drives. They were so friendly, professional and educational. They made us feel calm, safe and always smiling. They really went the extra mile in our opinion. The food was incredible and very appreciated as well as the cleanliness of our room every time we walked in - and always fully stocked with the mini bar drinks! We absolutely loved the barbeque on our last night, the food, dancing and looking at the stars in the dark there was incredible. The only sad part was that we did not get a chance to book the treehouse for a night - that was my fault for not having done it in advance. Overall, we would love to come back soon & will definitely recommend to friends!

Lovely and attentive staff who handled our food allergies with tailored, personalized menus. The facility is beautiful and you can watch animals from your breakfast table (today I saw buffalo and hippopotamus). The game drives were spectacular (thanks to Gus and Noel). Lots of opportunities to eat including during the game drives. The team here at Lion Sands River Lodge made this an unforgettable vacation.

Exceptional in every respect. The entire staff was warm and welcoming. Our guides, Mike and Mpilo, taught us so much and went out of their way to make our stay forever memorable. The food was excellent and our villa wonderful. Highly recommended without question. We will be back!
