The hotel rooms and services are fantastic. I love the big rooms and the hotel is indeed has all settings for a place to rest relax for business and family. The location near pubs and restaurants and local market is fine by me. However i regret to say whilst the trees are good but the bird droppings on the pavement stairways to the hotel is not only unsightly but scary. Bird dropping are serious health hazards. It is not scattered droppings but piles and all over. For sensitive people like me this is a no go. Lucky i brought mask to use. Something must be done to clean the stairways wash away every morning and evening. The council to clean the pavement similarly. Also maybe the hotel may deter using sounds if birds of prey to try and see if it reduces or deters the birds. I would not venture out in my next visit.

There are ample charging ports throughout the room, making it easy to stay connected. The lighting is bright and welcoming. Notable sustainability features include refillable shampoo dispensers and glass water bottles. However, there was no body lotion provided, which some guests may miss. Facilities • Gym: Decent selection of equipment—enough for a solid workout, though not fully equipped for advanced routines. • Pool: Large and offers a great view, perfect for a relaxing swim. • Spa: Massage services are available at an additional cost. • Sauna: Located in the shower/changing area, a nice bonus for post-workout relaxation. Buffet The breakfast buffet offers a generous spread with a good balance of Malaysian favorites and Western dishes. Quality and variety are both commendable. Price Rates start at around 500 MYR per night, inclusive of breakfast—a fair price considering the amenities and overall experience.

Great hotel, no complaints, everything I expect from an LM. The breakfast and the lounge are very good. However I would say the location was not to my taste, the hotel directly opposite a fish market and there was generally an unpleasant odour in any area that open to the elements. Working out in a gym that smells of hot fish is an experience… that I don’t wish to repeat. Elvina and her colleagues in the lounge were super helpful and friendly.

Offering an excellent location and comfortable stay, it's just a short walk to the Central Market and the seafront, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Kota Kinabalu city. The rooms feature a modern design, are spacious and clean, and some even offer stunning sea views or sunsets.

Additionally, the hotel is just a 15 to 30-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, depending on traffic conditions, which adds to its overall accessibility. Guests have the option to request sea-view rooms, which offer a beautiful view of the waterfront, while city-view rooms provide a glimpse of the majestic Mount Kinabalu on a clear day, a unique highlight of the experience. The breakfast buffet is another standout, featuring a wide variety of delicious offerings to suit different tastes, from local favorites to international selections. All of this is offered at a price point that remains affordable for the value and service provided. In summary, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu combines comfort, location, and culinary quality in a way that makes it a highly recommended place to stay when visiting Sabah.
