Disappointing Experience at a Supposed Five-Star Resort We recently stayed at the Abama Suites for a weekend getaway, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet the high expectations set by a five-star resort. From the moment we arrived, our stay began on a sour note. The receptionist was engaged in a lengthy phone conversation, leaving us unattended for an extended period. Adding to the discomfort, we noticed a food delivery sitting on the reception desk for quite some time, which was not the level of professionalism we anticipated. A significant issue arose when we were informed of a €500 deposit requirement upon check-in. This information had not been communicated to us in advance, causing considerable inconvenience as this weekend was meant to be a special gift. Both my partner and I had card limits, leading to an awkward situation and financial stress we were unprepared for. Our dining experiences further added to the disappointment. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant was overpriced and only mediocre in quality. The breakfast was particularly underwhelming. With limited options—primarily five types of eggs—and lacking breakfast staples like pancakes, the meal failed to impress. The Eggs Benedict we received were poorly prepared, the coffee was subpar, and the fruit selection was below the standard. And if we had wanted to repeat the meal, it would have cost extra! Housekeeping also fell short of expectations. We discovered that the room service had spilled water on the bed and neglected to change the sheets, which was quite disconcerting. The few enjoyable moments of our weekend occurred away from the hotel, which speaks volumes about the hospitality standards at Abama Suites. However, the most frustrating part of our stay was yet to come. Upon checkout, we faced unnecessary delays and rudeness from the staff while trying to reclaim our €500 deposit. It required escalating the issue to the hotel manager and lodging a formal complaint before the matter was resolved, which left us feeling disrespected and exhausted. In summary, our experience at Abama Suites was far from satisfactory. The numerous issues we encountered, from poor customer service to substandard amenities, have left us with a lasting impression that this resort does not live up to its five-star rating. Regrettably, we will not be returning, nor would we recommend it to others.

During our stay, money from two wallets and one envelope with a total value of approx. 1600 euros was stolen from our room (we think the cleaners stole it). There wasn’t any other option because during the whole stay we had our money there. Under no circumstances should you leave any valuables lying around in your room. The hotel staff absolutely denied that anyone from them had stolen it. Rather, they tried to wriggle out of it. We have reported it to the police, but of course, that’s not gonna help us get our money back. Besides that the hotel area is nice, restaurant is good and rooms are nice as well.

This was a special occasion for us, but it will now become an annual trip. I cannot recommend Laz Terrazas enough. We stayed at a bed, partial sea view with a jacuzzi, right in the golf course/pool. Incredible!! Service is phenomenal. People are incredibly nice. Views are just unparalleled. Location is stunning. Like I said, first visit, and now it will become our annual destination.

Let’s start by the fact that Tenerife is a great island for a holiday. It has plenty of amenities and great places to see and enjoy a chilled and warm island vibe. However, our stay at Las Terrazas De Abamas Suites was by itself one of the best highlights for our 8 days stay on the island. Let’s start by the easiest part - the location and apartments themselves. Overlooking magnificent green spaces and golf courts, the apartments were spacious, very well maintained and containing every possible facility for a very convenient and comfortable stay. Housekeeping made sure to maintain the apartments in perfect shape on a daily basis with immaculate cleaning standards. Location wise the hotel was close enough to most of the key parts of the island and equally providing a quite hideaway vibe from the busy and crowded touristic locations and hotels. Beyond the nice, well maintained and serviced apartments, the great location and beautiful scenery, The staff were extremely friendly and beyond professional. All requests are handled on time, with immense care and kindness. Thanks to Felipe and the rest of the staff, our island experience was made significantly better. Taking the time and putting the effort to share the best of their knowledge on the best places to see, food to eat and locations to visit, the staff (Felipe especially) went above and beyond to what a 5 stars hotel staff experience would typically look like. We left immensely grateful and out of words to express the level of satisfaction and gratitude towards the staff. Mostly we were overwhelmed by their kind and professional manners and service. Big kudos and credits to FELIPE, Sadia, Maria and Julio. The team made our stay immensely memorable. Drinks at the hotel were very satisfactory. Breakfast is decent and has good quality- yet nothing overly special in it. This fact didn’t impact our stay in any shape or form as food options across the island are infinite, so shouldn’t be a deal breaker unless you are into a one-place static stay and you are not into exploring different food options and locations. Despite the little comments here and there (maybe better isolation inside the flats on windows and doors to stop insects from getting in but nothing major) I would still rate Las Terrazas as 10/10 due to the great facilities and well maintained apartments as well as mostly the great service that is strictly enabled by a very professional, committed and good-spirited staff.

Great stay. In particular, the staff at the pool - Luis, Enrique and Marvin - looked after us beautifully. All staff were friendly and keen to make our stay wonderful.
