The hotel is so lovely! We were 4 persons (2 adults and 2 teenagers) staying in a Family suite and wow what a room! So spacious and modern and the huge balcony is amazing. Great with two king size beds so even the kids could sleep comfy. Always very nice cleaned too.
The pools are very good and since no one ever reserve sun beds there are always free sun beds whenever you need them during the day.
Food is excellent, great variety and very well cooked.
Location is perfect just one block from the beach and with lots of shops around and also easy to get a parking space.
I read that someone else said not to get a room with sea views because of the nosy road but the balcony door is soundproof so that is not a problem.

I booked a room with a rear pool view. I wanted to sit on the balcony, in the sun. When I arrived I was given a room with an internal pool view on the ground floor. There was no view of the pool because there were trees in the way. And no sunlight. I asked to change room and was told it was not possible. The glass sliding door did not lock and it was ground floor. Not safe. At the the outside lights are always on and the curtains are completely ineffective, so the room is the same level of darkness night or day. The wardrobe had some sort of cleaning product sprayed in it and the fumes made me sick. Iso I left after one sleepless night. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free. The breakfast was good. The location is good. The advertised parking is about 10 places and always full. I really don't think I should have had to pay for a sleepless night when they didn't give me the room I ordered.

We really enjoyed our stay at Las Gaviotas. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is really nice and friendly, food was great and it’s close to the beach.
Even though the hotel was fully booked when we were there, there was always lots of space at the pool.
We will come back.

Great place with upscale style. Staff are so helpful and go way beyond to help you, especially Edel! And the food is amazing, easily equals Las Vegas high end buffets!

The good...Generally speaking a really nice place. Nice rooms, great service and amenities and lovely food.
The extras like alcohol etc are reasonably priced and typical Spanish generosity with the measures!
The buffet food has fantastic variety and whilst not out and out restaurant quality (to be expected from a buffet to be fair) some if the food is really really good. You certainly won't struggle to find 4-5 things you like. And you can keep going back for more as often as you like. Not great for the waistline!
The pool offering is great. One large dedicated pool and bathing area for adults, one large pool for everyone that's full of families and kids (in a good way) plus a couple more smaller pools.
There's also a gym although it seem like you didn't need to book so it's a bit of a free for all.
The spa is bookable but we didn't try it out. We were able to use the spa changing/shower facilities to change prior to catching our flight home.
The bad...It's not perfect. This is clearly an upgraded hotel, generally done to a high quality, but with some weird design choices!
The bathroom/toilet for example is separated from the bedroom with a large wooden sliding door. It looks really nice but doesn't actually close! There's a big 4-5 inch gap! It's fine for a family with young kids but you'd be pretty shocked if you stayed there with people you weren't quite so familiar with, having to sit on the toilet in full view! We were in a family room to be fair so it's possible that this was only a quirk of this particular room type.
Another issue was the sink and tap. Looks nice but totally impractical. You either get the wall & floor soaking wet or headbutt the tap.
Overall it's a nice place, I would definitely return despite it's quirks.
