Great stay at La Vida Samui. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The resort is in a great location surrounded by restaurants and shops. Breakfast buffet had a wonderful spread of sweet and savoury options. The rooms were well equipped, and I really enjoyed the Nespresso coffee station. I did find the resort to be slightly dated when compared to the pictures, but it did not take away from our experience. Thanks for all the efforts!

Nice pool area and beach front has a few pools and The breakfast was less than average unfortunately, the omelette was good but that was all. The shower doesn’t drain well unfortunately so I had to wear my flip flops in the shower as my ankles were fully in water so a bit gross but I mean first world issues maybe. Had some good cheap Thai places up the road and easy to walk along the streeT to shops etc. lots of families staying here not a party type resort but would be fun if it was as the pool area was cool

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Hype I’ve stayed at many hotels across Thailand and unfortunately, La Vida was by far the most disappointing. The service was poor from the moment we arrived — staff were unfriendly, never checked in on us during the stay, and there was zero warmth or hospitality, which is so unlike what you’d normally experience in Thailand. The pool bar, which was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel, was completely out of service — despite being featured prominently in their promotional photos. No signage, no explanation, just a closed bar. The buffet breakfast was equally underwhelming. Everything was cold, with limited variety and no staff around to ask for help. It felt more like a low-end budget stay, but at a much higher price. I honestly don’t understand how this hotel is rated so highly — our experience was worlds apart from the glowing reviews. There are so many better options in Koh Samui with far superior service, amenities, and atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend La Vida and wouldn’t return.

We spent 12 days in a villa and felt very, very comfortable in the modern yet beautifully designed complex. From the extensive breakfast, which offered something for every taste, to the beautifully designed pool and the loungers on the white beach, everything was perfect. The staff was always super friendly and accommodating, and the housekeeping was beyond reproach. We were able to deal with the lack of storage space in the room. The hotel offered us a great deal of peace and quiet; we could barely hear any street noise. We enjoyed a relaxed breakfast, including an egg station, on the open terrace. The only criticisms: There are no additional storage spaces in the rooms for longer stays. There is no opportunity to take a thorough shower if you leave late on your departure day. Unfortunately, the only available restrooms are in the fitness area and the shower by the pool. A late checkout was a bit expensive for us at half the room rate for 4 hours. A more accommodating approach from La Vida would have been desirable, or at least a separate shower facility. We'll definitely be back at La Vida; everything else was perfect. I want to praise the staff at the front desk; they were incredibly helpful and friendly. The other hotel staff were also nice and accommodating. The standard room I stayed in was acceptable—fair for the price I paid. I must emphasize that the air conditioning was wonderfully cold, which was a relief during the hot weather. Dinner at the poolside restaurant was decent; the food was quite nice, but I was disappointed with the mango juice compared to other restaurants. Breakfast is a bonus at La Vida. While the variety of items isn’t extensive, it’s sufficient for a good breakfast. The swimming pool and fitness centre are great amenities to enjoy during your stay. The hotel is conveniently located not far from the bustling area of Chaweng Beach, yet it feels a bit quieter than the central area. The waves in this region are also quite gentle. I noticed that the exchange rate at the nearby area was slightly higher as well.
