This is a large and beautiful hotel with outstanding design, plenty of picturesque spots for photography, a large swimming pool, and a diverse breakfast selection. You can swim in the sea, but it might not be suitable to visit during the rainy season, especially if you have allergies. The rooms can be quite humid and musty. Even though the hotel staff assisted us with changing rooms and installing a dehumidifier, the room still had a musty smell. The bed sheets and blankets also had a musty odor. It seems the hotel has issues with water systems or humidity because there were deep mold stains on the ceilings and wooden doors. The water used for bathing had a strong chlorine smell. Due to the hotel's design, heavy rain can splash into the balcony corridors, making it slippery and dangerous. There are no connecting roofs between buildings, so even with an umbrella, you can still get wet. It's more convenient to wait for the rain to stop before going anywhere. Overall, I still want to stay again during the summer to see the difference. I am still satisfied with the overall experience of the hotel.

Great staff they will always smile and bid greeting to you throughout the day. Private location which we love. The hotel has got everything to offer.From cafe to the bar to restaurant to the pool and also blow-up shark in the pool. Activities throughout a day provided by the hotel, some foc some with charge. And last but not least, very nice line of buffet for breakfast.

Great hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The morning breakfast buffet is fantastic and the little cafe in the middle of the grounds makes an exceptionally good cup of coffee. Maybe the best in Khao Lak 😊 The rooms are great, although the beds a little on the soft side for my personal taste, they are big and spacious. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful and made it a really great experience to stay at La Vela. The beach club is great if you are looking for a fun and entertaining evening, and else the sister hotel La Flora is 100 meters away and offers a more relaxed atmosphere. But definitely a great experience all around 😊♥️🇹🇭

I have chosen La Vela for my holiday, but I have mixed feelings about my stay here. What I liked: - hotel offers a wide range or activities. I did water sports and Muay Thai classes with Kru Aod, and those were great. Thanks, Kru! - hotel gym is nice and well-equipped. - they have famous Torry’s ice cream in Cotton cafe on site. - customer service is responsive, and they listen to customers feedback and try to improve. - breakfasts are great, and so are buffet sushi dinners. - location is quiet and peaceful, but there are still many cafes and shops around. - hotel management was kind enough to grant a complimentary late check-out upon a special request in my case. - nice swimming pools. What I did not like: - rooms look much better in the photos than in reality, and my rooms didn’t look as good as I expected. - my room smelled of mould (maybe due to humidity) and had an aircon issue which the hotel could not solve. I was offered another room, but it came with a bath on an open balcony which offered no privacy. I was then offered to wait for another room, but I didn’t want to waste any more of my holiday time and move suitcases yet again. I hence stayed in my room. hotel managed to fix ac the next day though. - water in the shower is too chlorinated. If you have sensitive skin, you might need special cleansers with you. - Beach is not as grand as some other Khao lak beaches, and not too good for swimming due to tides. - service in restaurants tends to be slow. they forgot about my orders several times or I had to wait for over ah hour for a coffee and a simple sandwich. Yet, to amend these flips, restaurant didn’t charge me. Overall, I think hotel doesn’t offer the best value for money in the area, and it is much more suited for families with children. I really appreciated the responsive customer service and their readiness to solve all issues during my stay. I hope they can improve so that my next stay could be more relaxing.

We actually like the place. Buffet was fun and it is sort of a unique space around Khao Lak. Definitely recommend for a night out, diner or drinks In high season or even other seasons, make a reservation, you might get s good table to see the bar men show at the evening time.
