Coming over from Dubai in a 5 star luxury hotel to this was a bit of a shock which likely did not help. The rooms are very dated although spacious which is good. All the amenities and toiletries in room needed are provided. Its a massive hotel with a lot of people so its a little chaotic whether its elevator rides, the buffet at breakfast, and dinner it felt like dining with seagulls fighting over food. People are very rude. We ventured out and explored nearby restaurants which was more our style. The pool is nice, beach is nice a little small also very chaotic not easy to find a spot for our family not enough chairs for the amount of guests, and the guests we found are not very polite or courteous actually find them very rude no common courtesy for others. Also the staff many are friendly but some are also very rude. Many rules, our kids could not even go to the washroom inside from the pool being told to come back to cover up before they can go in, then have a bathroom outside if that is the case. Also a large surprise which its a completely dry hotel no alchohol even expedia in which we booked through did not disclose this, not that we are big drinkers but with our dinners we enjoy some red wine and this was disappointing and this is not standard so it should be boldly and expressly disclosed, although you can smoke outside being smoked out on either side of our pool loungers by guest smoking freely is okay? Overall I dont see the luxury on being rated a 5 star hotel and were greatly disappointed in our second half of our vacation coming over from Dubai.

We liked everything about the Hotel! The waves marine was incredible. Especially Sam he was extremely friendly and welcoming. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. We felt completely comfortable and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!! And Thanks to Arshad from the Pool for the great service!

The good: I had an excellent welcome. The staff are all very helpful and polite. A special thanks to Nadi and Alex. My room surpassed my expectations. There is a lovely little beach ( but often very crowded) and a great swimming pool that is carefully monitored for the safety of children and to keep the unruly guests in order - more of that in my review. The bad: do not book half board unless you like very, very crowded buffet style food. The choice of food and quality is very high and all is well prepared but it's like a crowded railway station trying to get your choice. Breakfast time is also a nightmare during peak times.. just too many guests and insufficient space for dining. I overcame the crowding problem by waiting for the dinner opening at 18h - earlier than I would have liked but it was the only way. You can try at 21h30 but by then many things are no longer available. For breakfast I went at 06h30. Then it was a great experience and not crowded at all. So the way to play it is 'always' go early. This is mainly a hotel full of Russians and Armenian guests. Many are very rude, badly dressed and disrespectful to the staff and other guests. No one has to beg for service but being polite and using the simple words 'please' and 'thank you' is common courtesy. The Russian and Armenian guests are pushy and their children very badly behaved. They are very poor ambassadors for their respective countries. Doing some research it appears that many Russians come to Dubai and Abu Dhabi so putting up with these people is not just a problem with this hotel. The elevators have insufficient capacity during peak periods for the number of guests and the size of the hotel. You can wait quite a while at times. This is a design flaw and I guess nothing can be done about it now. Overall this hotel might suit some and it certainly has some very good points but do weigh up these downsides before booking. One final point - this is an alcohol free hotel. Based on the behavior of certain guests this is probably a good thing and being alcohol free didn't bother me, but you might wish to consider this before booking.

My family and I are very happy with everything at Khalidiya. This is our 5th time. Especially the good service and the friendly workers here, like Arshad on the beach. He is very friendly and helpful and always available to satisfy your needs. At the reception is Arnel the hero. He is very friendly and helpful thinks in solutions and he makes the impossible possible. Wonderful place with wonderful people.

Pros: position is beautiful, private beach is rare and gorgeous, staff there - particularly Arshad - are always ready to help and seem happy about it. Rooms are spacious and from a standard you have a majestic view over the presidential palace. Cleanliness is a major plus in here, room service is excellent. The Kamoon a lá carte restaurant is truly a 5-star and prices are not high. Cons: details are sometimes not 5-star worthy. Some examples are food variety (you don’t get crepes at breakfast and only get one at a time between pancakes and waffles, sweet brioches are always empty and most of the times you have to ask the chef for Nutella, you can’t get it by yourself. Moreover, we found a couple of broken elevator lights, staff at the reception was not very welcoming nor smiling, and overall English level is not great. The room is rather classic, some modernitazion could work well. Overall good hotel, would be a 4-star worthy without such location and beach in my opinion. Would still recommend.
