Kagi is a beautiful resort. Visited in June which is slightly non peak. it was wonderful to enjoy the luxurious facilities with no scrum.
Environment/Reef: reviews will tell you that this has one of the best housereefs close to Male (15 min by seaplane, 1hr but speedboat) and I agree completely.
I am a relative amateur to scuba/snorkeling but I was delighted to see live coral polyps in various colours all over the housereef despite the recent mass bleaching.
Fish life is plentiful. During our stay, we also saw eagle rays, sting rays, hawkbill turtles and numerous nursing and black tip sharks. Timing is important of course, as most sightings were at just after dawn and just before dusk.
I would suggest full coverage snorkeling gear as "sea lice" bites can be quite vicious at the border of reef and open waters (might be basic basic to some but it was news to me lol)
Overall I sense that the island is kept very well and the resort does try to preserve the environment as best as possible
Service: service at Kagi is top notch. The warmth and enthusiasm of the wait staff in the restaurants always astounded me. (although some of the newer staff obviously were struggling with basics still, their efforts were still commendable.)
My group was a little big so we still had to occasionally ask them to make up for shortfalls (eg towels, tooth brush, shaving kit) but these were all attended to promptly on request. Very good service but not at the level of telepathy that one sees in other places.
The food at the 3 restaurants is very good (8/10 : Delicious but not to the level you want them to setup a branch in your home country)
We all enjoyed the food tremendously. Mornings with freshly baked croissants were a treat!
If I had to quibble, it might be the fact that we were limited to 3 portions to choose from starter/main/dessert each meal despite being premium all in package. We were very full on those and truthfully most humans wouldn't survive eating more than those 3 portions 😂 but by principle alone, it doesnt sit well.
Rooms: The island is immaculately kept despite being 3years old. The over water villas we stayed in were very clean (no weird smells) and well maintained with poweful aircons and good pillows/beds. The setup seems to be leaning toward couple holidays as the bathroom does not allow simultaneous use of the 2 indoor/outdoor showers without exposing yourself completely to your fellow roommates. Perhaps provision of folding shower screens for non couple stays might help. Otherwise the rooms are beautiful and very comfortable.
Overall Kagi deserves the high praise it gets. Highly recommended.

Best place we have ever stayed! It’s NOT a hotel for those who like to party with a DJ by the pool and be drunk all day (I think these kinds of guests give less than 5 stars). If you’re looking for a stunning, quiet island with great food, outstanding service, yoga, and beautiful coral reefs - this place is for you. We've stayed in many 5-star hotels, but this one leaves us longing to come back. You won’t be disappointed.

It's the best choice we have made for our honeymoon with KAGI Maldives! It's was splendid!
Room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We booked the ocean view villa and the room it's perfectly perfect to me, was really amazing view. The room were very functional, clean and tidy. We did stargazing while enjoying the bathtub/shower, great experience with loves one. On the other hand, the room comes with the private infinity pool on the other side which we can enjoy the stunning ocean view too.
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The staffs were so friendly and always feels welcome at all time. The cleaning team cleaned the rooms twice a day. The staffs at the restaurant and bar are very nice. Specially nominated our pure life ambassador, Cindy, she is amazing, literally. We were well taken care of the entire trip and definitely loves the hot spot she recommend to us for the starry night, sunrise and the nurse sharks spotting!
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We choose PAI (Premium all Inclusice) plan, so basically all food and drinks are covered. We love the food and cocktails so much. Moreover, we added a lil more to experience floating breakfast in room & private beach dining.
Environment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place is so beautiful and insta worthy. We had definitely took a lot of memories in our phone. Besides, it's a small island, whole island was having about 50 villas. It's very peaceful and quiet that's make us very comfortable and enjoyed entire trip. The reef is nearby our villa and lots of coral and fishes.
Activities ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The sunset cruise was nice. We saw the beautiful yellow sun and spotted a few dolphins. It's stunning! For honeymooner, theres complimentary of 15 mins spa. I would say the spa was AMAZING! Would definitely recommend to go for the spa! It's definitely worthy!
Overall, I give them 9.5/10! It's our first experience in Maldives but we definitely enjoy the time here with KAGI MALDIVES. Definitely adding colours in our honeymoon and I have felt in love with Maldives.
Nevertheless, thank you for all the amazing & beautiful memories.
See you when I see you! Definitely will come back.

Firstly, the island is absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. The villas are superb and very clean. However, sadly KAGI seems to be lacking in good management. We saw the General Manager once for 5 mins during our 5 day stay, which is very unusual for Maldives resorts. We chose Premium All Inclusive, but did not feel we received value for money compared with other islands in the Maldives which we have visited in the past. The food and wine quality was average and the staff although so lovely and polite and aiming to please, were lacking in basic customer service skills. There was an obvious lack of training on their food ordering systems too, regularly forgetting to put our food order through. Foods such as steak and lobster and even the weekly BBQ are all added supplements, which is not the case on other islands and we felt all inclusive didn’t stand for much, even in terms of water sports which were also additional charges. Our Butler although responsive, was not great at advising what was included or not or that food delivered to your villa is also not included in the premium all incl plan! We seemed to spend our days having to argue this point. We don’t mind a tray charge as other hotels do this, but refuse to pay twice just to have our breakfast on our outside deck. The hotel when we stayed was at about 20% capacity and mainly Chinese/Japanese clientele. Unfortunately even the western type food was cooked spicy and no basics like pasta or plain fresh fish and vegetables; everything tasted asian, which is great when you want an evening eating Asian food but not in the international restaurant! This hotel needs a lot of work in terms of their Prem all inclusive package and also customer service before we would think about returning again, which is a shame as it’s a wonderful island and so close to Male.

Wonderful place…
We visited Kagi at the end of April 2023 for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed.
The island is truly wonderful, and we had an amazing honeymoon. We stayed on a water bungalow with a private pool – the accommodation was excellent. The bed was incredibly comfy, and the bungalow had all sort of modern comforts – air con, coffee machine, nice TV and music speakers. The highlight was the infinity pool looking out over the sea.
The reef around the island is teeming with activity. We loved snorkelling every day and saw some amazing sea-life including a turtle, baby shark, sting ray, Octopus and all sorts of tropical fish. In the evening we also saw some bigger sleeping sharks by the dock (thanks to Saaya). If you’re into Manta Rays, there is a trip ran by Eurodivers – this was a great day trip and it was a true privilege to see such amazing creatures.
The restaurants at Kagi were excellent. My particular favourite was Ke-un which has a Pacific ring of fire theme. However, the Italian restaurant and the a-la-carte options were also great. The service in all the restaurants was top notch and all the staff were incredibly attentive. The bar at Kagi is amazing and you can watch some incredible sunsets whilst drinking some wonderful cocktails – our favourite was the French Martini!
The Spa and Gym facilities at Kagi our great! The team at the Spa are very professional and gave us a fantastic relaxing couple’s massage on our last day of our stay.
We would like to thank so many of the amazing staff at Kagi. The Food and Beverage Team were awesome and very helpful – the F&B Manager Nikula is a great guy and arranged some delicious meals for us – particular highlight was the candle lit dinner on the beach. We also really enjoyed speaking to Min-Soe (Deputy Manager) and Hashala (our main waiter during the trip). The Bar Team are superb and make amazing cocktails – Dennis, Bee, Joe, Tony and Basil were fantastic. Dennis is a really friendly and fun guy! Also thanks to Shaniya and Saaya who were our front of house liaison during our stay.
Thanks to Jorg (General Manager) and your outstanding team! You made our Honeymoon amazing. We are so grateful and will never forget this incredible / wonderful experience.
