Stayed 6 nights at JW Marriott to celebrate New Years and it beat all our expectations. From the warm welcome as we arrived at the hotel, to Dhevi (think that was her name) taking care of us at the front desk to check us in. As we had arrived at 12pm and check in was not until 3pm, we were allowed to use the facilities and got an email when the room was ready. We had booked a swim up room, which was adequate size for 2 adults and a child. Cleaned every day to a good standard, with water and coffee capsules replenished daily and towels twice a day. The breakfast was to die for and best spread we have ever had! From egg stations to Thai and Indian food, to fresh crepes and pancakes being made. All the exotic food you could ask for! Bug shout out to Krishna who would make me fresh puri and dosa every day. Always greeted me with a smile and willing to have a chat. The sun bed policy is great, with the guys making a note of when beds are taken up have an hour to come back, before towels are taken from them. This made sure there were always beds available. With the beach in front of you, on the left, there are a few local Thai restaurants (Friendship was our best) and massage places (second one with ladies in red Tshirts). We would go there every afternoon as much cheaper to eat and drink then the hotel. Finally, New Years Eve was out of this world! We didn’t go for the Gala Meal but were allowed to see the fire show and fireworks! Great way to celebrate NYE. Cannot wait to come back again!

It was my first time at JW Marriott Khao Lak and they did not disappoint. It is situated a little farther from town and the airport, but it is a hidden gem. As soon as I arrived, I had a warm welcome and they escorted me to the front desk. I was offered a refreshing beverage and cool dessert, a great start to my stay! I was also fortunate to meet Ms. Natasha Low, the Hotel Manager, whose gracious hospitality immediately put me at ease and excited for the to experience the overall vibe of this resort. Having previously stayed at the JW in Phuket, Khao Lak has its own distinct charm—yet the exceptional standard of service remains consistent and impressive.

The At Your Service Team responded to my queries with speed and care, demonstrating a high level of attentiveness that exceeded my expectations. During my stay, I ordered overnight room service and was pleasantly surprised when the staff set up my dining table instead of simply leaving the tray. They even placed a small plant beside the setup—a simple yet thoughtful touch that made the experience feel special.

The Sakura Restaurant is also a must try as you won’t be disappointed with the food and service! 

The resort grounds are well maintained, and the wide selection of activities ensures there is truly something for everyone.

Thank you for an outstanding stay. I was so impressed that I have already booked a return visit for next year!

Marian Marin 5/5 5* for the hotel itself and the staff, and 4* or less for the entertainment. We had a nice stay at JW Marriott Khao Lak. Overall, the experience was good, but we lacked the entertainment and the festive vibe was completely missing. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast was spectacular, offering a wide variety of delicious options. We also attended the New Year’s Eve gala, and the menu was absolutely amazing, for sure you pay the price—truly unmatched compared to other high-end hotels I’ve visited in Mexico or the Dominican Republic. (The Italian Chef is top!) However, there were some downsides. Firstly, there was no proper beach bar, like a Tiki Bar/Beach Bar, so we missed out on that laid-back vibe of enjoying a drink by the ocean at the bar enjoying some music. None of that. While the hotel’s restaurants are great, they don’t replicate that beachside atmosphere. There is a shack where they sell the beer and some drinks, but that's not a beach bar. Additionally, the service at the large pool bar was quite poor, with guests often waiting at least 20 minutes for a drink, even though there were not a lot of people, which led to frustration. Similarly, the beachfront restaurant, where lunch is usually served, also had disappointingly slow service. Again, the staff is nice and very very respectful. Moreover, the resort lacked a central lobby bar where guests could relax and enjoy evening activities. Although there was some entertainment in the lobby, like a traditional Thai instrument performance during certain days, it wasn’t enough to keep guests entertained. They had marshmallows on the beach from 6-7pm for the kids and that was cool. After about 10:00 PM, it got really quiet, and there were no events organized during the festive period, which made the resort feel a bit empty and dull at night. In summary, it was a good stay with a few areas for improvement, especially in terms of entertainment and service. So if you like that Latino vibe for parties, if you're looking for the festive feeling you're not going to find it here.

We booked our vacation through a travel agent and experienced several issues during our stay. While dealing with the agent was disappointing, the hotel staff were truly outstanding. They took full responsibility, were kind, patient, and attentive, and went above and beyond to help us receive the compensation we were entitled to, even after we had already checked out. The hotel representative, Olly, continued to follow up with us until the matter was fully resolved. It is worth mentioning that we were somewhat disappointed with the condition of the rooms, but we were informed that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Aside from the rooms, the hotel facilities are excellent, including the swimming pool, children’s water attractions, and a rich and varied dining experience. The level of service and genuine care shown by the entire hotel team truly made a difference to our vacation.

We had a really enjoyable stay at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa! If you wish to find a resort that allows you to wind down, enjoy picturesque sunsets, and enjoy the warmth of genuine Thai hospitality, this has to be the place to beat! The kids enjoyed the pool access room and we dived straight in. There was really no reason to leave the resort as they plan a packed itinerary to entertain the young and old! It was also interesting to witness their efforts with the Bamboo Shark Nursery, as well as JW Garden Experience. Everyone at the resort, from the doorman, to front office, f&b, even our room attendant for #6021, were exemplars of genuine hospitality! I wish I could name them all, but I only managed these few names: - Khun Patt : Beach Bar - Khun Neung: Olive - Khun Sorn, Khun Jay C, Khun May: Breakfast dining - Khun Yoyo: Sakura There have been some comments about noise from the pool, large-scale weddings, etc. However, the hotel did notify us in advance about the wedding to give us a heads up and did their best to ensure little inconvenience was caused. In all honesty, the resort is so big and there are so many facilities available that we could entertain ourselves fully! All in all.. We love it! And I have a funny feeling we will be back. Not sure when, but definitely one to keep on the “return” list! Kudos to Natasha and Vincent for running an excellent operation!
