This is an overall review of the experience, for more specific reviews of the Rooms, Safety, Food & Drinks see below sections. Also please pay special attention to the “Noteworthy Details” section. The JOIA Bávaro resort was absolutely fantastic. It exceeded all of our expectations and we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The highlight of the trip was far and away the staff. Our butler, Houston, was fantastic. He always had a smile on his face and every time he saw us he made sure we were having a great time. He even provided us with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne one evening as a surprise for our honeymoon. The front desk staff was just as helpful and accommodating. The bar staff, from the lobby bar to the pool bar, was fantastic. They interacted very well with the guests and they too always had a smile on their face. Lastly, the buffet staff was excellent. They made the buffet more than just a place to load up on food. They were fun and friendly and made a lasting impression on us. It was very hard to not choose the buffet every night simply because of the staff. A huge shoutout to Amelin for making our meals their memorable and special.

Just got back from a trip here with my boyfriend and we were absolutely blown away by the beauty of this place and the out of this world service! We had the most amazing house maid, Diana, who decorated our bed each night and left us the sweetest messages! No matter where you are in this resort there is someone waiting on you almost immediately. Any needs or problems are immediately addressed. The food was decent but elevated to the next level with the yummy variety of restaurants, our favorite was the surf and turf, which served super tasty steak. On top of it all, the place is beautifully maintained and absolutely gorgeous! It’s impossible to not be at peak relaxation in paradise. And there were super cute kitties all around to keep us company. Book the trip, it’s worth every penny!

Had an amazing stay at the resort the facilities were perfect the weather was great. Most importantly the staff was incredible our butlers José and Alex were amazing and some of the most helpful attentive and fun people we had ever met. the bartenders in the lobby bars were always extremely friendly and welcoming and the drinks were great. The pilates instructor Lucy and the yoga instructor for sunrise yoga whose name I forgot also did an incredible job and where awesome to spend time with. the activities coordinators were all wonderful as well and did a great job of always making sure everyone was engaged and having fun. wish i could remember more names but all in all wouldn’t have changed a thing! Also shoutout Oscar and Santos two of our servers who were a blast and took great care of us and the Sommeliers were both great as well and gave great recommendations Rafael the bellhop was also great and made sure we didn’t forget anything in our room when checking out

We had an amazing week at JOIA Bavaro. Our butlers, Junior and Valentin, were outstanding. They were always available and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and pleasurable. The resort is beautiful and impeccably maintained. The restaurants were all top notch. The activities staff, especially Smile, Black Mamba and Alex, worked extra hard the make the days and nights fun. There was ample seating on the beach and at the pools with many cabanas and palapas available. Highly recommend.

Joia’s staff is ever serving and pleasant. The grounds are well kept. The beach is one of the best we’ve been to yet! Cofe and Reynaldo are the best of the best butlers. The food is excellent and authentic to the type of restaurant visited. My wife and I commented that there are over twice as many pool beds as any other resort we’ve visited. And we go to 1-3 per year for the past 20 years or so. We like variety, so we plan a different resort every time. This will be the first that we’ll go back to several times over. We’re looking to book this one again in the fall or spring of 2025.
