We spent our honeymoon at the Intercontinental and overall had a wonderful stay with many highlights. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and our room was beautifully decorated with champagne and a large cake—a thoughtful surprise. A special thanks goes to Hari from housekeeping, who prepared our room perfectly every day, paying attention to every detail and even providing extra water without us asking. We also loved the buffet at Senso, enjoyed the evening activities including a surprise cocktail event, and had a fantastic Spa experience with massage, sauna, and jacuzzi. However, for a 5-star hotel, some attention to detail could be improved. Many beach loungers were worn and dirty, and one day a dead rat was left on the beach for hours. Service at the pool and beach felt understaffed, with sunbeds and couches often not prepared, and no one ever asked if we wanted food or drinks. In our room, the main door was thin, and we could hear everything from outside, which affected our privacy and comfort. The biggest issue was water service in the room. Only two small bottles were provided daily, and it was impossible to get more through room service despite multiple calls and a visit to reception. Housekeeping solved it at last, but this should never happen in a 5-star hotel. Overall, the exceptional staff, beautiful room surprises, and great dining and Spa experiences made our honeymoon special, but some service, maintenance, and room comfort issues prevent it from being flawless.

I had an unforgettable stay at this resort in Mauritius😍 Really amazing staff, they made me feel so welcome with their genuine smiles and hospitality. The resort is beautifully maintained with stunning views of the ocean and lush gardens, creating the perfect tropical escape. One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the Mediterranean restaurant – simply outstanding😍The chef was incredible, taking time to explain the dishes and ensuring every detail was perfect. Each plate felt like a piece of art, both in taste and presentation. It was by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The pool and beach areas were peaceful, perfect for relaxation, and the variety of activities kept each day exciting.

We had a truly wonderful stay at InterContinental Balaclava on our first trip with our toddler. The resort is fabulous, with beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, and food that was absolutely delicious. What stood out most, however, was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Every interaction was marked by genuine care and hospitality. A very special mention and heartfelt thanks to Jaywantee ji and Surya ji, who went above and beyond to ensure our little one was comfortable and well taken care of. They paid such thoughtful attention to her meals, preparing simple, wholesome food with so much patience and kindness. Their personal touch and willingness to accommodate even the smallest details made us feel completely at ease as parents. We also noticed how the rest of the team was always smiling, courteous, and eager to help, which made the entire atmosphere of the resort even more welcoming. It truly felt like a home away from home. Our daughter had the best time in the fully equipped play area, which was safe, fun, and perfectly designed for children her age. It gave us the chance to relax while knowing she was happy and engaged. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience for our family, and we are deeply grateful to the entire team at InterContinental Balaclava for making it so special. We will always remember this trip fondly and look forward to returning soon.

This is truly a wow factor luxurious beach resort which strikes you as you enter the lobby with the most incredible views of sea and mountains in a tranquil setting. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, we had breakfast included and enjoyed a la carte meals in all of the restaurants where the food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced for a 5 star resort. The rooms are spacious with beautiful sea view balconies. The hotel was full but never felt crowded due to the clever design of the spaces and seating with plenty of cabanas and sun lounges. A special shout out to Aditi who gave us such a wonderful check out experience with recommendations for our next visit , she made us want to book the next visit on our way out! Highly recommend this resort hotel to couples , families or solo travellers looking for the perfect Mauritius experience!

We stayed for 7 nights on half board in a Deluxe Ocean View room (2 adults + 1 child). Overall, the experience was very positive, with some areas that could be improved. Pros: - The buffet options were diverse and tasty, with plenty of variety each day. There were also several halaal options, and the kitchen staff were very accommodating — they even prepared a dish on request, which we really appreciated. - The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make us comfortable. A special mention goes to Kevin, who was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and offering excellent sightseeing advice. - The resort itself is clean, well maintained, and beautifully presented. - The heated pools were a big plus, especially for our child, who thoroughly enjoyed spending time there. - The kids club was another highlight, offering fun activities for children. Cons: - We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View room on the first floor, which worked well overall, but once the pull-out sofa bed was set up for our child, the room became quite cramped for three people. - Noise at night was an issue — we could hear other guests and service carts moving around after 11 pm, even with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. - The Balaclava beach location is beautiful to look at but not ideal for swimming, as it is quite rocky. Guests should be mindful that you’ll need to travel to nearby beaches such as Grand Baie or Trou aux Biches for proper swimming. Overall: A very enjoyable stay with great food (including halal-friendly options), warm hospitality, and excellent facilities. The resort is best suited for those who want a relaxing base with pools and good service, while planning trips out for better beach experiences.
