I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Intercontinental Malta. Our room was simply stunning with gorgeous views as you would expect on the 17th floor. The room was well appointed and everything was of a high quality. We were kept well stocked with water the entire trip as well as toiletries. Without a doubt the hotel experience was made more special by having access to the fabulous club lounge and also staying in a suite which gave us access to the Skybar. The club lounge was very elegant and a calm space to spend time in. The food was also excellent in here and the breakfast was a real highlight being able to sit on the terrace and eat al fresco. The service was second to none in here with everyone being attentive and welcoming. Njambi and Kumar stood out in particular for their level of attention to detail and made our time in the club lounge even more special. For anyone looking at staying at the hotel I would implore you to book a club room as this will really elevate your experience. Overall, the staff were all friendly and offered a high level of service, something which undoubtedly contributed to our experience too. I must also mention one of the doormen, Zion, who was always happy to help including when we asked what Kinnie was and also with helping us to sort out the location for our bolt to pick us up. I can’t wait to return again to the Intercontinental Malta.

I stayed here during a business trip and extended my stay for a family vacation in Malta. The location is excellent, and the room and services were very good. Any requests were handled immediately. Juana and Ana were particularly kind and helpful. The facilities are family-friendly; my two-year-old especially enjoyed the pool and garden. The only negative point was the breakfast. During booking, no breakfast option was available, and adding it later cost €25 per person, which I find unreasonably expensive.

Nice Hotel In a busy location with everything you need around the corner. Rooms where clean and spacious. Service was exceptional. Only Manko i would say is that the breakfast is not worth a 5 Star, it's just like in any other 3 or 4 Star Hotel. It's ok and it's included, but nothing 5 Star special

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. After staying at another 5-star hotel during my first days in Malta, I was quite disappointed. This place is simply not a real 5-star hotel. Everything feels old and dated. The room was advertised as 40 m², but it definitely wasn’t, it was very small. After speaking with the manager, they did move us to another room that looked more like the pictures and was indeed larger, which I appreciated. We had access to the Opal Lounge, but it wasn’t anything special. Honestly, the breakfast I had at a 2-star hotel in Spain this summer was much better. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the concierge gave us some nice tour recommendations. The gym, as I understood, is a public gym, which is fine, but the entrance is through the indoor pool area a bit strange. If you’re relaxing by the pool, people constantly walk past to get to the gym, which ruins the atmosphere. Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend this hotel. The location is fine, but there are at least ten other hotels nearby that are much cheaper and probably offer a better experience. Also nowhere near the bed to charge your phone.

First and last visit to Malta ihg. Positives first Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel nicely situated Pool area welcoming Negatives…. Dead cockroach on balcony for 2 days despite room servicing. Totally unacceptable especially as ihg pride themselves on cleanliness. Fire alarm went off at 2am, we left via appropriate exits and were left outside the front of hotel until 330 without any explanation/ apology in our night wear. Guests who were inside the reception informed us it’s a false alarm. Then awoken by builders noises at 8 am that same morning. Complaints were made and a free room upgrade offered and a bottle of wine as an apology. Not everyone drinks alcohol so the bottle was returned. Photos shown of room upgrade proved more of a down grade. Breakfast underwhelming, food barely warm and only 2 choices of fresh fruit on offer. Ihg agreed it failed us as a paying customer and offered a one night stay in any European ihg for free after many emails to customer service, ihg corporate, ihg guest services to mention a few.
