This is my first time visiting the InterContinental Maldives, and I must say the island itself is absolutely stunning. The buggy drivers, restaurant staff, and restaurant managers have all been incredibly warm and welcoming throughout our stay. However, I was quite disappointed with the service provided by our assigned butler, Yolanda. It fell significantly short of the standard I expected from a luxury resort experience. During our five-day stay, we only saw her a few times in the first three days, and there was a lack of proactive communication and assistance. When we first arrived and booked a group snorkeling trip, I mentioned to her that I get seasick, and she assured me that she would bring seasickness medication for me the next day. Unfortunately, we never saw her before the trip and ended up arranging our own buggy to the snorkeling point without receiving the promised medication. Additionally, yesterday while we were using the bathtub, we slipped and accidentally broke a plate on the side table. When I messaged her to ask for help with cleaning up the broken pieces, her response was to ask if it could be done later in the evening. More importantly, she never checked whether we were injured or needed any assistance. In contrast, when we casually mentioned the incident during afternoon tea, the restaurant staff immediately expressed concern and provided us with band-aids. There were also issues with restaurant bookings. Yolanda did not make any extra effort to secure the best reservation times or seats for us. It was only after speaking with other guests on the island that we learned it was possible for butlers to proactively arrange 7 PM window-side seats at The Lighthouse restaurant. Overall, I feel that we did not receive the level of butler service expected at a high-end luxury resort. We tipped appropriately and paid for a premium experience, yet for most activities or requests, we had to call the front desk ourselves or inquire directly. This is not what we expected from a resort that positions itself as a luxury destination with dedicated butler service.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Maldives, and it’s no exaggeration when I say it was one of the most magical experiences of my life. Nestled in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the resort is a true slice of paradise – where luxury meets nature in the most seamless way. But what truly elevated my stay from extraordinary to unforgettable was the exceptional service, especially from my villa curator, Nada. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff were evident in every interaction. The resort itself is stunning – immaculate beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and beautifully designed villas that offer the perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and elegance. Every corner of the property is thoughtfully curated to provide a luxurious yet laid-back Maldivian experience. The food across the different restaurants was phenomenal, with a wide range of global cuisines prepared to perfection, and the attention to sustainability and local culture throughout the resort is truly commendable. However, the true highlight of my stay was Nada. She was not just a villa curator – she was like a guardian angel throughout my visit. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and kindness were unmatched. Nada was available 24/7, always just a message away, and her responses were not only prompt but always full of warmth and care. She anticipated my needs before I even voiced them and handled every request with such ease and positivity that it made me feel like I was the only guest at the resort. Whether it was arranging a dreamy dinner under the stars, suggesting the perfect time for a sunset, or simply checking in to make sure I was comfortable, Nada went above and beyond every single day. Her dedication and genuine passion for what she does made a lasting impression on me. I’ve traveled to many luxury destinations, but the level of personalized service and emotional connection I experienced with Nada was something truly special. InterContinental Maldives is a world-class resort that offers everything you could possibly dream of in a luxury island escape. But it’s the people – especially extraordinary individuals like Nada – who make it a place you long to return to. I left with my heart full, my mind refreshed, and memories I’ll treasure forever. Thank you, InterContinental Maldives, for creating such a magical space, and a heartfelt thank you to Nada & Metwally – you are a true gem and a big reason why this trip will always remain close to my heart. With deep gratitude, Mohd Firoz Naim

This is the most beautiful place on earth. The hotel standard is fantastic, the rooms are immaculate the views are breathtaking and the service is second to none. We really enjoyed our massages at the spa, snorkelling in the lagoon and relaxing on the white sandy beaches. The staff go above and beyond to cater to guests needs. They know who you are and greet you by name when you walk in to a restaurant. They remember your drink order and any special requirements and accommodated every single request. The wonderful Dwi looked after us during our stay and was on hand 24/7 to handle everything for us form dinner reservations and booking spa treatments to organising our transport around the island and activities during our stay. We didn’t have to think about a thing so a big thank you to her. All in all, we had a perfect relaxing trip in pure paradise.

Welcome to Paradise!!! A fabulous place, excellent service, a private and well-kept environment... Three restaurants to choose from and an excellent breakfast, spacious rooms with a sea view, the idea of having bicycles to get around is wonderful... I really recommend living this experience and enjoying the crystal clear sea and the white beaches
