Currently staying at this hotel (november). I have a hard time making up my mind regarding this hotel. The building The building was clearly renovated. The areas the renovation covered look good. But some areas weren't adressed and look dated. The elevators don't work well during "rush hours". There are 4 elevators to cover all 11 stories with rooms (total 15 story hotel) and during peak usage you are bound to wait a long time before an elevator is available. The system is clearly old and it doesn't function well enough for the amount of people it needs to transport. You will see many guests using the stairs to get around this issue. We have a baby with a stroller, so we are out of luck. The parking for a rental car is €10/night. The rooms The rooms are spacious and look decent. It's quite obvious that parts of the room were included in the renovation, but for instance the caulking in the bathroom is partly broken and just generally in bad shape. The AC is terrible. It's early November and the temperatures aren't even that high but even at "full blast" the AC can't cool past the outside temperature. It will only keep the room from heating up more. We complained about it and a mechanic worked on it, but it still won't cool properly. Part of the issue is that we won't turn on the AC during the night because of baby, but even if it runs at full capacity during the day it won't actually cool the room. The curtains were also not included in the renovations: they never really close properly. They are simply too small for the area they have to cover. It's not psychically possible. During our stay the rooms were always cleaned well and the cleaning ladies were very friendly. The bracelet is the room key, which is convenient. There is also a water tap on every sleeping floor for unlimited chilled water. Both great features. Sadly, there is a surcharge of €3/night to use the safe. The food We only booked breakfast for our stay and it was excellent. Truly a great buffet restaurant with a lot of choice for breakfast options. Can't speak for the other courses or options The pools The pools are nice. Spacious and look clean. The location It's a short walk from the hotel exit at the pool level to the nearby shops and restaurants. Overall a great location! Due to the Tenerife landscape it's not as easy to navigate with a wheelchair or stroller, but it's doable. Overall, I think the basis for the hotel is there. It's a nice building. The location is great. Great people work there. Its just that some things aren't "fixed". Especially the poor AC and the overcrowded elevators really mess up the experience. The hotel deserves better.

Returning home from a visit at Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa. This is a big hotel and there is a lot of space, we never felt crowded and there were always good sun beds available. The food is great and again the restaurants never felt crowded. Kids club was only 2 hours long but our two young ones really enjoyed it. The pools are good, as to the water slides. Shame the pools didn’t open until 10 but our kids went in before then, as did many others and nobody complained. Our room was ok, a bit tired but that may have just been ours. My eldest son had his own room and it was in better condition than ours. The staff were all superb, really helpful and always having a laugh with the kids. The room cleaners were also brilliant. Location wise you can’t fault that, amazing views over the sea. Would recommend this hotel to anyone considering the area.

We came to the Iberostar Waves for a week in early November. It was our first holiday away with our eight month old baby so we definitely had new things to worry about. We needn't have. The moment we arrived to the Iberostar the staff at reception made us feel welco me and made sure we were comfortable with anything we might need for us or the baby. The rooms are very clean and have everything you will need for a holiday. Anything not in the room, you can ask for at reception. The facilities are also really good. There are four pools all well maintained. The gym is good with modern equipment. The main thing for me was the restaurant - it was fantastic! The food choice and quality is outstanding. On top of this, the service is the best we have ever seen. The restaurant staff continuously went out of their way to make sure your visit is great experience. The Manager and staff always paid great attention to how they could help us. Jonathan especially made our visits there very comfortable, always looked out for our little baby and made sure we had a great experience every day. We can't thank him enough for his hospitality. Thank you Iberostar Waves!

Fantastic hotel and the staff are exceptional in the way they look after you. The food is top quality freshly prepared and such a varied huge choice, very very good. The only small negative would be the rooms need an upgrade they’re not bad just a bit tired. We went as a group of twelve with 5 children and they absolutely loved it the amenities from the aqua slides to soft play for them and to the fitness classes and gym were first class. We would definitely come back.😊

We booked half board stay for 1 week. It was not made clear at check in what the procedure was with drinks at evening meal. We went to the self dispense soft drink to acquire 1 drink each with our meal for the first few nights, all OK. Then third night stay, my father was rudely told he was not allowed the soft drink as this was for All inclusive only. A little discretion and explanation would have been more apt than 'telling him off' in front of the whole dining hall. Food has been ok but lacking taste and decorum with regards 'live' cooking of meat and fish. Chambermade services are excellent, rooms cleaned to upmost level, thank you. Beach access from hotel is limited for disabled.
