General Impression: The hotel is about 27 years old and generally well maintained, though the roof shows damage in several areas. Our room was clean, but the A/C was too cold and hard to adjust, the toilet clogged easily, and the safe didn’t work at first. Curtains and fabrics need some care, but room service was excellent — fresh towels and sheets daily. Dining was inconsistent: plenty of food, but too heavy and meat-focused, with limited healthy or fresh options. Many restaurants were closed or disorganized, and staff seemed overwhelmed. The real highlight was the sunset yoga — absolutely wonderful instructors and a beautiful experience. Plenty of sunbeds and shade around the pool, but shops and excursions are overpriced, and there’s little entertainment for adults. With better maintenance and organization, this hotel could be much more enjoyable. 🧾 Overall Impression Iberostar has several strengths — excellent room service, helpful use of the hotel app, and plenty of space around the pool. The sunset yoga is an unforgettable experience and truly a gem of the resort. However, maintenance issues, disorganized dining, lack of entertainment, and overpriced shops make it hard to fully recommend. With some attention to detail and better management, this could easily become a far more enjoyable and well-rounded stay.

We recently finished a 1 week family vacation at this resort and everything was wonderful. Our beachfront room was incredible. Housekeeping did an amazing job every day. Bartenders at the pool side were fantastic and super friendly - everyone was super friendly. Dining experiences were great. My only criticism is we could not get a-la-carte Mexican food. We had to go into town for that. This seems very odd at a Mexican Resort.

I cannot find fault with this hotel. Okay yeah the rooms are slightly dated but there is nothing wrong with them & they have mentioned closing for a renovation next year. The buffet food has been tasty, I would definitely recommend the Italian & Japanese Restaurants! The Service staff have been wonderful - always so kind! The hotel itself is amazing - the wildlife , the decor, the pool & beach, I liked walking around this hotel. The entertainment team (especially Abigail)are the BEST! Always working so hard & so friendly, we loved spending an evening in the reception bars joining in with the Quiz, Bingo , Karaoke or Mexican Lottery! I would definitely be booking again

Your message confirms that internal theft can occur within your property, yet you choose to hide behind policy rather than address the core issue — the lack of accountability and prevention. Further assistance is not needed, as I will never return to your business. However, for the safety of other guests, I sincerely hope you take real action to protect them. Start by reinstating hallway security cameras and by responding to guest reports with urgency — not by telling them to wait 72 hours for an “internal investigation.” I lost over $10,000 worth of jewelry at your hotel, and your team showed no genuine concern or responsibility. Please do better for future guests. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our experience at Iberostar Tucan – September 2025 Our family stayed here from 9/27–10/1, expecting a relaxing five-star vacation. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most stressful travel experiences we’ve ever had. While I was in the room studying for an upcoming exam, my husband and daughter were at the pool. Before leaving for lunch on 9/28, I placed my jewelry (two Tiffany bracelets, one Van Cleef bracelet, and a diamond necklace) in a closed tin box on the tabletop. When we returned about an hour later, the room had been cleaned. The next morning, I discovered that two pieces of jewelry and some cash were missing. We immediately reported it. The hotel told us the investigation would take 72 hours—after our checkout date. I later learned from their own key-log data that only one housekeeping staff member accessed the room between the time we left and returned. Still, management insisted nothing could be done because I hadn’t used the safe. I asked for a copy of my own incident report, but they refused to give it to me, saying it was “for internal use only.” They also said police weren’t allowed to enter the hotel, which made me feel helpless and unsafe. I recorded all of this because I couldn’t believe the lack of transparency and accountability. I understand the importance of using a safe, but this situation involved staff key access to a locked room—something completely outside my control. Removing hallway cameras “for guest privacy” and refusing to cooperate with law enforcement is unacceptable for a resort claiming to be five-star. We’ve stayed at other resorts in Cancun, like Hyatt Ziva and Fiesta Americana Coral Beach, and never experienced anything remotely like this. I truly hope Iberostar management takes this seriously and improves their guest safety policies.

I had such a great experience at this hotel! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the entertainment really made the stay extra special. Allen & Victor were absolutely fantastic—full of energy, fun, and a total vibe. They kept the crowd engaged and created such a lively atmosphere every night. Carlos, the bartender at the swim-up bar, was equally amazing. Not only did he make incredible drinks, but his friendly personality and great service made us feel right at home. Eli, our waitress at the Cozumel restaurant, was wonderful as well—attentive, kind, and always made sure we had everything we needed. Between the entertainment and the hospitality, this place truly stood out. Can’t wait to come back!
