I was honestly shocked by the number of 5 star reviews for this hotel. It’s not awful by any stretch but is far from 5 stars. My wife and I have been to some nicer resorts, mostly Sandals or Secrets but wanted to bring the kids this time so picked a cheaper downgrade of sorts. I wouldn’t make that mistake again. My biggest issue with the resort is the lack of quality A/C. Our room was HOT. The thermostats were locked at 21 Celsius (69.8 Fahrenheit) but there is no way it was even close to that. I’d say upper 70s or 80s at all times in the room. This made sleeping or relaxing at all very difficult. Equally bad, none of the restaurants or other resort facilities with the exception of the main lobby, had adequate A/C. It was difficult to enjoy any meals while being constantly sweaty and sticky. A "Luxury" or even average resort should have many places to cool down after spending long hot days at the pools/beach. Speaking of food, I’d rate the overall quality as maybe 3 stars. Again being hot and sweaty made enjoying any meal very difficult but the overall quality of the food itself is average at best. We didn’t eat at every restaurant but the best that we experienced was the Hacienda Mexican one. There were some pros but the cons, mostly never being comfortable outside of a pool, outweigh them and I definitely wouldn’t go back. Pros: Lots of fun pools, and a splash pad for kids Beautiful Beach Friendly Staff Golf Cart “shuttle” service throughout the resorts Plenty of bars and places to get a drink Food Allergy Friendly Cons: Be prepared to sweat constantly Mediocre Dining Low water pressure in the showers/tubs Did I mention HOT rooms and facilities?

To begin with, the food was mostly normal. Nothing to write home about. The rooms were fantastic; although I paid for a "jungle" view and got a pool view...hey not too upset. Poolside entertainment?? Franco and Raoul and their cohorts kept the party going!! Great job guys and girls. The only thing I can say is that there should be a couple of nights for "Adults" only(18+)...no kids. Definitely a winner of a resort. Place is beautiful.

Overall had a great time. I just returned home yesterday. We stayed at Maya for 3 night and Del Mar for 3 nights. I would prefer to stay at the Maya the entire time. Grounds at both places were awesome. The have a big foot print. Maya restaurants were air conditioned. Beaches and Del Mar restaurants had no ac and were all opened. For the most part we did not like the food. . Steak house and hibachi were decent. Pools were amazing. Del Mar and Beaches attracted a younger crowd. Pool party had young girls shaking their butts. Doing their best sexual dance. I’m glad my kid wasn’t there. The service was great. Maya the golf cart rides came fast. Del Mar expect to wait. The spa was amazing. If you stayed at the Maya you can use the amenities for free. Overall I had a wonderful time.

Good food. I didn’t like how the resort only give a family of 5 one room. I mean that’s crazy, with a large family it should have automatically came with a connected room. It was so crowded for entire week with 3 boys. Overall, my family enjoyed their vacation and it was one of the best vacations we had. Big resort and not crowded was a plus for me.

Where to begin…. Overall a great resort with good not great food. The drinks are amazing from the quality of the bottles themselves to the service provided from the bartenders. The overall service was good when it came to bartenders and servers at your table. However where service plummeted and you would regularly receive eye rolls and nasty looks are in the management. The head of any of the restaurants were all extremely rude. Please keep in mind we are avid tippers and extremely polite. We had asked for a few small requests such as adding 2 people to our table. The server said it was fine as the chairs were already open at our table it was just about setting up the utensils. The manager stormed in and did not allow it they had to get another table in order to eat at a restaurant that did not require reservations. The golf carts that come by all the buildings are driven by probably the rudest people in the resort they would storm by us empty and just pretend we didn’t exist or flip us off. The club was dead and when in the last 10 min of the club we asked the Dj For a song he gave us a nasty response. Overall great hotel but certain managers and other staff are very rude
