The staff was friendly and our kids ( 8 years old and 5 years old) enjoyed the kids club. We have stayed here more than once. During our trip this year (June 2025), it seemed like it was less crowded and lower occupancy compared to our trip last July (2024). Which in turn, seemed like there was less staff. Overall, a very enjoyable trip. The rooms are clean and spacious. The shows are great and the food is good. They are very accommodating to food allergies. Great family resort.

Just returned from a 4-night stay with our 11 month old. This resort would not have been our first pick for a family-friendly resort in Cancun, but we were somewhat limited as we had a last-minute change in plans and this seemed like the best option available at the time. We have been to multiple other adults only AI resorts within this general price range, but this was our first time at a family-friendly resort. Overall, the resort was mediocre at best. There wasn't anything particularly bad about it, but nothing particularly good either. The best part was the short 15 minute transfer from the airport. The rooms, pools, and general facilities could use a little TLC. As mentioned in many other reviews, there is no functional beach which was not a problem for us as we prefer the pool anyway. We did not have any issues with availability of pool chairs, but we did note there were not very many umbrellas so if you prefer shade this could be an issue. The food was the most underwhelming food we have had at an AI thus far. Again, not terrible but nothing standout. Service in the restaurants was pretty spotty, frequently had to flag someone down just to get a refill on water or silverware. The resort was "family-friendly" and there were many families with children of all ages, but I wouldn't say the resort catered to children in particular. They did provide a crib for the room and there were high-chairs at the restaurants but that was all in regards to infant specific amenities. There was a small kids waterpark and 4 water slides which were quite outdated. The slides were comical- there wasn't enough water flow so you would get stuck halfway down the slide and end up scooting the remainder of the way. From what I have heard about other Hyatt Ziva resorts, this one did not seem to live up to the name.

My family just returned home after a vacation here. We had a great time! It truly is family friendly, and I loved that they had daily activities and nightly shows for entertainment. The pools were mostly clean, and my kids enjoyed the waterpark. The only feedback I would have is in terms of food selection; there needs to be more vegetarian options. The selection at all the restaurants were very limited (1-2 items on the menu only being vegetarian) and the restaurants had different schedules every day, and sometimes the restaurants were closed for the day which made it hard for my family to eat. There is also not much of a beach area which we were already aware of before we arrived. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! Thank you to all staff.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff welcomed us with a smile and a warmth that made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable throughout our stay always helpful, kind, and highly professional. It truly made a difference. The activities and evening entertainment were one of the highlights. Every night featured different shows, live music, themed events, and an incredible atmosphere. We had so much fun and there wasn’t a single dull moment! The pools were spotless, very well maintained, and offered both relaxing and family-friendly spaces. There are several to choose from depending on the experience you’re looking for peaceful or lively. As for the food, simply amazing. Each restaurant had its own style and the quality of the dishes exceeded our expectations. From international options to local specialties, everything was delicious. The buffet had a wide variety, and the à la carte restaurants were an absolute treat. I also want to highlight the little details that make a big difference: clean rooms, well-organized activities, the positive energy of the entertainment team, and the sense of safety throughout the property. We will definitely come back. This is not just a place to relax it’s a place to create unforgettable memories. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel so well taken care of!

I want to preface my review by stating that we were a party of 13 that were sold on going to "Hyatt Ziva Cancun" by the travel agent so when we started going to opposite direction from the airport, we were automatically a little confused. I stated this early because all of our planning and itinerary was based upon this, and yet the "Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun" was where we were actually staying. If you know this going into your trip, maybe this place is what you are looking for. For us, it was not. The road to nowhere. The resort is 35-45 mins south of Cancun, and pretty much anything else you'd actually want to do aside from stay at the resort. Which, for some, may not be bad, but if you like the beach, this place is not for you, but we'll get to that. The road to the resort is a long, narrow dirt road littered with potholes and surrounded by a dense thicket that we were told is full of crocodiles. So much so that a couple of the drivers' services I reached out to refused to come to the resort citing the condition of the road was too rough for their vehicles. Luckily, we did connect with a great guy to drive us around, but it was costly being so far from everything. The resort is adequate. The rooms were clean, and there was an air conditioning problem in my room, which caused the room to be so humid the bed felt wet when we went to go to sleep. The facilities were nice. The gym was good, spa very nice, and the grounds well kept. One of the downsides of the resort was the food. The food at the outside bars (burgers, tacos, etc) were the best places to eat. The breakfast buffet was not bad, but the others were barely above school lunchroom food. Stay away from the pastries, most of them taste like they were made with paint thinner and even the kids wouldn't eat the sweets. The beach, or should I say, lack thereof. If you want a nice sandy beach to enjoy while frolicking in the waves, this is not the place for you. If you like a 6' strip of sand, followed by 50 yards of rock covered in seaweed and no ability to play in the ocean, this is the spot for you. They do have pools close to the ocean, so there is that. The staff. This we the saving grace of this place. The staff members are fantastic. They are friendly, helpful, and great in every way. If this establishment has any success, it's 100% due to the amazing workers they have. I will not be returning, but this may be the place for you.
