My daughter and I stayed in this hotel. We thought our room was very big especially for a New York hotel! Our bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The bathroom was large and well equipped. We found it very clean. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. We easily walked to the 9/11 memorial and Pier 36 for the Statue of Liberty Cruise.

So, okay place, but would stay elsewhere. Staff not very friendly- we had to call for water, then call again after an hour passed and still none, then when staff brought water, they were most grumpy. No happy hour, although it is advertised on website. Bathroom door slides to close with a 2-3 inch gap from floor to ceiling, so minimal privacy. Basic tv. No air flow- was told it is off in winter, and to open window if we want air. Basic coffee- espresso machine broken. Room smelled terribly of smoke entire 4 day stay and now all my clothes have smoke stench. Also, my Mom is a long time loyal Hyatt member and booked room with a “pay upfront” deal. Then we had a death/funeral in family and asked for refund or even Hyatt credit, hotel said “NO!”. Corporate said hotel could provide refund or credit, but hotel manager refused. Bad, bad service. Glad we were able to still make trip, but not impressed with their inflexibility.

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service experience EVER. We were checked into a room that did not have a working heating system. The room was freezing. By the time we figured out it wasn’t just off but actually not working and someone came to look at it (midnight) they said this was not a problem that could be fixed while we were in the room. They brought us a space heater. When I called the front desk they said we would be able to change the room in the morning because there was no manager present. As my kids were already starting to fall asleep once the space heater started working, I obliged.
When I called in the morning the manager Sonia acted like the heat not working in the room was my problem. She said there was no equivalent room for me to change into and that she would not be able to upgrade our room either (not because there wasn’t one available). Now cue me pulling the space heater into the bathroom in a HYATT, just so I can shower my kids without them catching pneumonia. Sonia said at some point there MAY be a room available to move us… no apology, no “how can we make this right”. So we just sit in the freezing room and wait to move when it works for them? We are only in NYC for one more night and the last thing I am doing is waiting for Sonia to have an equivalent room she feels comfortable enough offering us. I asked for some sort of refund for an UNLIVABLE room and was told, “but you’re in it”. You can’t make this * up. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. We’ve been here before and sure, if there’s no problem it’s a benign place to be… but if there’s a problem, GOOD LUCK. Thanks Sonia, for nothing.

Came here on the weekend of March 30th for the Nicki Minaj concert. I called Hyatt Centric home for 3 days. The hotel was very modern, spacious, and you can even text the hotel for requests. Although our room wasn't cleaned daily, once we brought it up to the front desk, our room was cleaned promptly. They offer free coffee and tea for breakfast, and it was a great way to start the day. If you prefer lattes or more complicated drinks, there are plenty of coffee shops nearby. There is also a Duane across the street for anything you need that the hotel can't provide. Even though it is advertised as 24 hours, Duane closes every night so call ahead for their hours. Overall a great experience! The pricing of the hotel is fair considering some AirBNB's in the area are more expensive and do not provide any amenities. Also the location isn't central to all the tourist things in New York, but you can take the transit everywhere. Another minor inconvenience was that this hotel isn't enabled for Apple Pay key entry like other Hyatt hotels are, but this is a first world problem. A+

It hurts me to even write this because I generally let things go but I am so upset with my experience and the fact that I spent $230 for the night. When I checked in, the woman who checked me in did not want to be there. She looked up to me and goes “card?” when asking for my credit card for any accidentals, I was so confused because did she forget how to ask a question? That was just rude but that’s not even why I am writing this review. Around midnight, I walked over to the Duane Reade which was marketed to be open 24 hours, well, it wasn’t and so out of desperation I head back into the hotel lobby and ask the young man at the front desk if they have any feminine products because I’m having an emergency and he looks at me annoyed. He immediately says no without even asking anyone. He tells me due to recent robberies in the area the Duane Reade is closed. I nudge him that I really need something and he goes and looks in the back but nothing. How utterly disappointing that a hotel like the Hyatt that charges that much money for a stay cannot provide a female guest with a pad. Are you serious? I sat in the lobby and had to doordash from 7 eleven. Then I asked the same man if I can get a bathrobe because there was not one in my room and at the time of booking my room, the description of the room said bathrobes would be provided. The robe never came. This was an utterly unpleasant experience. The only person who was sweet and looked like he wanted to be there was Kevin at the breakfast the next day. Like I said, I don’t get annoyed easily but this was such a ghetto experience, save your money and go somewhere else.
