Stayed here for my 14 days quarantine back in 2021, the room was so spacious and the building was quite old, but still I love staying there. The view was amazing and glad i stayed here for my quarantine. Comfortable, luxurious and spacious.

Visited in 2019. Luxury services, at the floor a restaurant was always available for free. At the ground level a big restaurant included with a lot o quality food. Very good position, next to the centre and KL park. Beautiful pool.

The memorable Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur that opened way back in 1992 will see its last day on 1 September 2021. In a statement, general manager Noorazzudin Omar said the decision to cease operations came after a proper evaluation of the hotel and its viability. He revealed, “The hotel had lost its competitive advantage over the years with the insurgence of new or neighbouring hotels and serviced apartments.” Even while functioning as a quarantine hotel, Noorazzudin said they were still incurring monthly operational losses.

My one week stay due to quarantine requirement was pleasant and comfortable. The room was clean though slightly dated.
I chose the premium package .
The food was served warm ( though a bit warmer would be better, though I understand that the food was served in disposable plastic containers), well presented and tasty. The quantity was adequate.
I would recommend a wider variety for breakfast such as local fares on certain days rather than the western big breakfast format daily. A small point, perhaps knife to be included when serving western meat dishes.
Overall a good stay and thanks for the warm hospitality showed by your operators, housekeeping and reception staff(when they helped recover my phone).
